Jason's POV
I don't know what's happening right now. One moment I'm sleeping with her in my arms and the next she's engulfed in flames. I link the pack doctor and he gets here swiftly. When he sees her he's just as confused. "Al..alpha, I don't know what's happening to the Luna. Nothing is being burnt by the fire but..." he pauses. "What? What is it?" I ask. Turning to me, "Alpha is the Luna an elemental?" he asks with a sense of shock. "An elemental?" I ask, "Yes alpha. I've never seen seen it before but I've heard about something similar to this from only one doctor" he answers. "Who was it?" I ask. Sighing he says, "It's doctor Jace from the Red Phoenix Pack". I walk over to my nightstand, pick up my phone, and dial alpha Black's number. "Good morning Jason," he answers. "Good morning Alexander, how are things today?" I ask. "Things are going better but I gave you a full update when we spoke over the phone yesterday, did something happen?" he asks. Sighing, "I don't know what's going on with her," I say. Responding with a little worry he asks, "What do you mean? what's happening to her?". With the slightest of panic in my voice, "I don't know, I was sleeping with her in my arms but then her body became engulfed in flames, nothing is getting burned but I can't even so much as hover my hand over her body. I linked my pack doctor but...", I ramble while holding my forehead but he cuts me off. "What color?" he asks, "What color is the flame?". Looking at her I notice that the color changes continuously, "Red, Blue, Brown, and theirs a hint of Green," I tell him. He's silent so I call his name to make sure he's still there. "We'll be there as soon as we can," he answers. "What's happening?" I ask. He sighs and then says, "Your doc probably thinks she's an elemental, and she is. The only ones who can help her through this right now is her mom and doctor Jace. There's too much to explain, it's better to do it in person. We're going to start heading over now so we'll see you in a few". After getting off the phone I link Ron and let him know what's going on and to meet alpha Black once he reaches the perimeter.
An hour and a half later Alpha and Luna Black, and doctor Jace walk into our room. Luna Sarah walks straight over to Sapphire and places her left hand on her chest. "Wait..." I try to warn her but alpha Black places a hand on my shoulder, "she knows what she's doing," he assures me. "Come on let's sit and talk," he says as he walks to the two seater I had in the back of the room by the window. "Sarah's a pure blooded Luna elemental," he starts as he sits, "the main element she has mastered is water, but she also knows how to control Fire, Air, and Earth". Rubbing the back of his neck, "the first element to present itself is usually their strongest element and will cause their flame to burn the color of that element but..." he pauses as he ruffles his hair. "But what?" I ask. Looking me straight in the eyes he says, "She's presenting several differnet colors at the same time, which means she'll be going through a hellish awakening of her elemental powers". "What does the doc have to do to help her?" I ask. Shaking his head, "Nothing. The doc is for Sarah in case she needs some medical treatment while she's helping to eleviate some of her flames". Looking over at Luna Sarah I see that she's also now engulfed in flames, but hers is purple. Sapphire's flame is not as intense as it was when they just arrived and now it's a solid green.
Sitting beside alpha Black, "let me guess, red is fire; blue is water; green is earth; white is air, but what's brown and purple?" I ask. Continuing to watch his mate, "Brown and green flames are both earth elements," he answers, "Brown is for the actual earth so dirt, soil, dust particles, every kind of mineral. Green is for any kind of plant, regular, medicinal and poisonous. As for Sarah's purple, it indicates her ability to be able sustain her family's and her mate's life. It's extremely draining, and whatever injuries you have will also be present on her as she tries to heal it" he explains. "Is Sapphire presenting so many elements at the same time a good thing?" I ask sitting back. He slaps my knee and says, "Yes and no. I'm not going to sit here and lie to you and say that it's easy to deal with simply because she's strong. It's going to be tough and painful for her as she learns to control them". Turning to me again, "But you're just as strong Jason. I know you have special abilities too. My pack is known for our ability to handle fire, and I know your father also had special abilities". I subconsciously start to ball my fists, no one should be aware of this so how'd alpha Black find out. He taps my right hand twice and says, "don't worry, it's partly because of my abilities, I can sense it. You would have never been able to hide it from me. Anyways, your ability is without a doubt linked to an element. If not directly, then indirectly. This will help her on days or nights when she might need help releasing overflowing flames. When the elements manifest one by one it's easy, but when it's multiple at the same time it will be painful, so if you can help to eleviate one of the elements it will be extremely helpful", he says straight forwardly.
Suddenly, Luna Sarah let's out a long sigh. We both look over in her direction. Sarah turns toward us and is breathing slightly heavier. "How is she?" asks Alpha Black. Wiping her forehead, she answers and says, "she's going through her awakening test". She looks at me and sees my confusion. With a small smile she explains, "An elemental's awakening test is a series of mental challenges that the moon goddess puts them through to check how much they can handle, and to see if they're pure or corrupted. Will they use their ability for good or evil? For helping others or selfish gain? What worries me is that one element alone is a series of challenges but having four right from the start means that she'll be going through this possibly for days". All of a sudden, Sapphire's body releases a blast of new flames. "Which element is this?" I ask as Luna Sarah quickly reignites her flames and rests her hands back onto Sapphire's body. As if being fed, Sapphire's flames grow even bigger and Luna Sarah begins to struggle. "Alexander, Jace, I need you," she calls out. But before they could reach her side, Sapphire's body releases a blast of lightening, shattering the glass doors leading to the balcony. The blast knocks Luna Sarah back but alpha Black catches her before she could collide into anything. While we're all looking at her levitating off the bed sparks of lightening erupt from her body. The sparks start to get more intense and I can tell another blast is coming. "Shit!" I say going towards her, "alpha another blast is coming, I suggest you shield the luna," I say as I rip my shirt off and cradle her into my arms and sit on the ground. That's when it happened, a lightening blast so big, it shatters all the glass doors in the pack house, knocks out the electricity, and rips through me.
