Olivia, the wealthy woman, was my benefactor; she was truly kind to me.
Three months later, I went downstairs to greet some guests and suddenly saw a woman. I was stunned. This flamboyantly dressed woman was none other than my sister Daphne.
"Kent, let's hold our engagement party here. This restaurant is very popular, and the food is quite good."
"Yes, Kent, I think this place is pretty nice."
I was even more shocked. Daphne's arm was tightly wrapped around a man named Kent, and behind them were my parents. I glanced at the man; was he the rich guy Daphne had hooked?
My mom immediately noticed me and was equally surprised. "Valentina, what are you doing here?"
"It really is you. I can't believe it! Can someone like you afford this place? Your monthly salary probably can't even buy a plate of fish here!" Daphne glared at me, completely different from her earlier demure demeanor.
My dad was even angrier, thinking I had followed them here to cause trouble. "Are you here to make trouble?"
I chuckled. "Of course she is! Or why would she lurk around the entrance? Stop pretending you are the owner. Get out of here and leave us alone."
I laughed out loud. "That's ridiculous! I'm not going anywhere; I'm here every day!" I wanted to provoke them on purpose.
"You shameless bitch! You think you can hook up with a rich man here?" Daphne tried to push me out.
Several security guards approached. "Boss!" They supported me and were very polite.

Daphne and my parents thought they had misheard. "She's just an ex-convict; how could she be your boss?"
"She is indeed the chairwoman of this restaurant. We were all hired by her. Please show some respect."
My parents and sister's eyes widened in disbelief, finally realizing what I said was true; I was indeed the chairwoman of the restaurant. The walls were adorned with large photos of me with local celebrities, clearly visible to all who entered the restaurant.
How did this happen? In just a few months, I had become the owner of this restaurant and so wealthy? They couldn't accept it and stood there frozen with complex expressions.
"Valentina, did you meet some benefactor or have incredible luck?"
"Valentina, how did you make your fortune?" My parents demanded answers.
But their tone lacked the aggression and arrogance from earlier.

If they had treated me sincerely, I would have shared my wealth with them without hesitation. But they would have taken all my money and left me with nothing.
