I had nothing left to argue about because, whether I liked it or not, Jason was right, so I sighed and nodded slightly. I never thought I would sleep in the same house as Jason again, especially with my daughter with me, but circumstances led me here.
I noticed that my daughter was yawning and scratching her eyes. sleepily, so I got up and took her in my arms. Her little arms hugged my shoulders, and she rested her head on my shoulder, looking for affection. “It’s time for you to go to bed, my baby,” I said to her, taking her bag. I always put a personal care kit and a clean change of clothes in the bag in case something happens at daycare, and she has to take a shower and change clothes.
But Jason was faster than me and grabbed the bag first. “Let me help you. Do you want to go to the bathroom? It’s on this side,” he out, following the path to the bathroom. I sighed and went afte

Once in the bathroom, I helped my daughter brush her teeth and
changed her clothes into lighter ones so she could sleep. Anne almost falling asleep.
“I booked a flat that had a children’s room,” said Jason, pointing the way to the room prepared for Annie. It was a room with beautiful decorations and a small bed, where I laid Annie down and held her for a while, waiting for her to fall into a deeper sleep. Annie took a while. to sleep when the room or environment was new to her, so I had to spend more time today petting her so she could sleep.
As soon as she fell asleep, I placed her favorite teddy bear in her arms, gently covered her with the duvet, and left a kiss on her
forehead, wishing her a great night’s sleep. I sighed, realizing that the

bed was too small for me to sleep on it, it was a children’s bed, and I couldn’t fit in there, which made me run my hand through my hair.
Where was I going to sleep?
There was a small armchair in the corner of the room. Maybe I should sit there and sleep like that, it would be a torturous night, but I just had to make it through that night because the next morning I would leave this place with Annie. I went to sit on the armchair and tried to sleep, but I realized that the armchair was not made for sleeping. I was agitated, I preferred to stay there in Annie’s room and not leave that room to go face Jason because I knew he was sparing me. After all, Annie was nearby, but now that she was asleep, he had a lot of things to say to her.
sighed, getting up. It would be good to face him once and for all and put an end to this. I left Annie’s room and went back to the living room. I noticed him sitting on the sofa by the fireplace with a glass of wine in his hand. There was also an empty glass on the coffee table
next to a bottle of wine, and he nodded.
“Come closer, join me,” he said, and I approached slowly, pouring wine and going to sit on the sofa in front of his armchair. Since t temperature was nice in there, I had taken off my coat and boots an was left in just my dress. I sat with my legs crossed and drank the wine, which I didn’t think I needed that much until I took the first sip.
Jason was looking at me without blinking, maybe he wanted to curse me or kill me. “Do I still have to wait a long time for you to say what you want?” I asked, showing that I was impatient.
“You hid my daughter from me for five years, and I need to want something more than her?” He countered my question.
I sighed as if I were tired of this subject. “Look, Jason. Annie is not your daughter, and she never was. This is all a misunderstanding. She already has a father and is very happy with her father; don’t mess with

the child’s head; she’s only five years old,” I said.
He was silent for a while after my speech, then he chuckled sarcastically and took a sip of his wine. “I was with Annie today all afternoon and evening, and I can say that today was the happiest day of my life. What a lovely girl! We did so much together; we enjoyed so much; we talked, we lived together; we did everything like a father and daughter would do,” he said with a silly smile on his face as if he were remembering incredible moments, but I interrupted him.
“But she is not your daughter,” I said curtly.

“I’ve spent the entire afternoon with her so far, and you think I didn’t find a way to get something from her that I could use to do test? Do you think I’m a fool?” He asked sharply, and I swallowed hard. “I’ve been saving it, Laura. I can take a paternity test whenever
want, but we both know there’s no need to take a damn DNA test.
Because we both know she’s my daughter!”

I gasped, leaning my back against the chair, and drank more of my wine. “You may be her father, yes, Jason, but her real father is because he was the one who was by her side practically sin was born. It’s him she knows as her father, not you, who’s a st

“All this because you decided to hide from me that you were pregn at the time we separated,” he said, wanting to blame me.
“What would be the point if I told you I was pregnant? Would you by any chance accept the child?” I asked him, getting to the point of the problem. He might be blaming me now, but he knew he would reject this child just like he rejected me in the past. He was silent now, having no way to respond. “You were radiant at the time when your great love came back into your life, you quickly prepared the divorce papers and wanted to divorce me as quickly as possible. that would connect us forever? Besides, you never wanted a child, you always showed you didn’t want one. It was quite possible that you would tell me to abort the pregnancy just so there would be nothing connected to me You hated me. Jason How do you think I would act? So don’t come now and blame me for not finding out about the existence of your daughter, because you simply don’t have the right to do that. Annie is not your daughter, and she never was
