“It was wonderful, Terry,” I said, smiling like a fool. “We kissed, and it was a kiss that
will go down in history.”
“Wonh, so it was that kiss, right?” Terrence seemed excited too.
“That kiss, friend. That kiss,” I stammered, laying my head on the couch and staring
at the ceiling while my thoughts were all focused on that woman, “She’s so perfect,
you should see how she gave in to the kiss so well.”
“Wow, huh? Congratulations, you managed to remind her of her love for you,” he
said, celebrating.
“Yeah, I know that woman loves me.” I smiled, feeling so accomplished.
“I’m happy. But you kissed each other, swallowed each other, ate each other…”
Terence was malicious.
“Shut up, didn’t have sex. Well, there almost was she was into it, but she mumbled
something about her daughter and ran away,” I said, remembering the way she was
kneeling in front of me, with her face rubbing against my abdomen and my hand
closed in her hair in a moment of extreme madness. If she had let me, I think we
would have made love right there in the middle of the room, but she ran away from
me and left, leaving me helpless.
“Hm, I see. How unlucky for you. But at least now that you’re getting along, you can
create more occasions so that moments like today can happen more between you
shortly,” Terence suggested and I sighed in agreement.
“Unfortunately it won’t happen, bud,” I replied and drank half a whiskey.
“What do you mean? Are you going to give up on her now that you’re getting it? That
doesn’t make sense,” Terence looked confused and indignant.
“It’s not about me anymore, Terence. The kiss wasn’t in vain,” I said.
“She didn’t kiss you so you could release the Nemesis project? Wasn’t that the condition you gave her?” I had told Terence everything, as always. My friend
gave
me a hard time putting Laura against the wall by annoying her with a kiss, but he had to understand that I was desperate. It was an act of desperation.
“Yeah, I thought that was why too, but Laura outwitted me, Terence. She dressed in a way that freaked me out, bud. She spoke in a way that didn’t make me think straight and said that I would only kiss her on one condition, that I stay away from her forever and not get involved in Nemesis‘ decisions anymore.”
“She did what?” Terence looked stunned. “Damn, the woman is smart!”
“Very fucking smart.”
“And you accepted the deal, of course.”
“Like a convict. I practically gave up the game for a kiss.”
Terence was laughing, I shook my head and laughed too, not having anything else to
“You didn’t give up, you idiot. You were taken out of the game by her, you were kicked!” He exclaimed, laughing at me. “What? Oh… Sorry, life. I’m just talking to my idiot friend. Oh yeah, sorry. Yes, love, I’m going to the porch.” It was obvious that Terence was being thrown out of the room by his wife because he was laughing so loud. Serves him right. “What’s up, man?” I could now even hear the sound of the wind, indicating that Terence was out.
“Was it Ava?” I asked, getting up to pour more whiskey.
“Yes, she’s mad,” he said and I clicked my tongue.
“Be careful sleeping on the couch today, you idiot.”
“Okay, I’m stupid, but no more than you. Holy shit, you let yourself be taken in by a
kiss!”
“Yes, and I don’t regret it. It was the best kiss of my life,” I said with my head in the
clouds.
“The best and the last, right?” Terence was laughing.
“You just make it worse, damn it.”

“Okay, my bad. But how are you going to do it now?”
“I don’t know, I can’t try to get closer to her anymore. Maybe I should consider it
over?”
“Oh well, analyzing coldly I would say that you still have a chance with her.”
“Really? What do you mean?”
“Like, you guys kissed and it was awesome, right?”
“Yes, it was amazing,” I confirmed and sighed.
“So maybe she wants to see you again. Give her some time, don’t insist anymore, she will be the one who comes after you,” said Terence and I nodded.
“I’ll hope that happens.”
