Laura
“God in heaven, how arrogant that man is! A complete son of a bitch! How did you manage to stay married to him for so long?” Said Mia, who was one of the designers responsible for the project.
A few minutes ago Jason had left the meeting room after turning down our arduous project in such a pathetic way. I knew he still hated me, but he didn’t need to take his hate out on work that had been done by a range of qualified professionals just because he wanted to get to me. Jason was too immature, he didn’t mind harming. anyone if it came to attacking me.
“We have to start everything from scratch, from beginning to end. That just won’t give us time until Monday,” said the film director, and we all looked at the calendar posted on the nearby wall. It was now Friday afternoon, which meant we only had one weekend to finish a new project. “Time is too short, damn it!”
Up to that point, everyone was stressed, and everyone started talking at the same time. They were cursing Jason and regretting that he was the owner of the company since he had shown that he didn’t care about the hard work that all those people were involved in, and just because he was the owner, he saw the right to do whatever he wanted. I massaged my temple, trying to find a solution.
“What if we reused some images from past marketing? That would save us time during recording and we would just focus on the editing itself,” I suggested, already putting my head to work and finding a solution that wouldn’t harm my colleagues and the project.
What I was suggesting was that they didn’t need to do the work from scratch, I was
going to take charge of editing the entire project to give it a look that Jason would
approve of, just so we wouldn’t make our clients, who were mostly famous and
influencers that would propagate the new collection of Nemesis for the masses, wait
because, like it or not, our customers were still our bosses.
“Are you saying that we don’t need to do practically anything else and that you will take care of everything, Mrs. Thompson?” One of them asked and I nodded.

“Yes, I can work with the editing,” I replied confidently. They seemed surprised by me, as I saw no difficulty in showing my face, challenging myself to do such a difficult job in such a short period.
“You are an amazing woman, Laura. But no matter how noble your act is, I don’t think you’ll be able to finish it until Monday morning, when the collection will be
exhibited,” said Mia, who ended up becoming a close friend during the days I was
working at Nemesis. “I mean, everything is ready to welcome the public, the event
has already been announced, and pre–sales are almost sold out. Simply starting from
scratch at the last minute won’t work.”
“It would be easier for you to try to convince Mr. Davies to go back on his decision.
and release the already finished advertisements,” said one of the directors.
“I think he’s right,” said a woman who was also on the board. “Besides, we wouldn’t
be in all this trouble if you didn’t make your ex–husband angry, you’re the one who’s
basically to blame for all this mess, so fix it.” She had a disdainful expression when.
she spoke to me. I also saw that everyone else, although not wanting to judge me
head–on, shared the same thoughts as the woman. And they were right, weren’t they? My intimate situation with Jason was hurting everyone there, it was all my fault. I sighed and nodded once and for all.
“Okay, I’ll talk to Jason,” I said finally.

I knocked briefly on the door before entering Jason’s office, he already knew I was on my way as his secretary had warned him and he had also allowed me to enter the
room.
“Have you decided to finally surrender and come beg?” He asked as soon as I entered his room. There was a mischievous smile on his face, as if he had already needed me to come to his room and couldn’t wait for that to happen. “Do you realize you need me? Have you already realized that, whether you like it or not, I have absolute power over this place, and if I want, I can blow anyone up?
