Derek's POV
Our girls were a month early but still doing well, but we're small but alive, plus we have injections that promote werewolf healing and growth for pups that are premature.
"They look good; both are healthy and doing good. We gave them the injections right away after the C-section. Luna is resting now, and Vince is at her side. I sigh, heading for my mate after looking at my beautiful girls. Liam sniffles as he looks at them and touches the thing they are helping them with.
"They are so tiny," his voice cracks as we head for our girl. She is sleeping, and Vince jerks up, wiping his face as he faces us.
"She did good. Alphas was a real trooper the whole time. The pups are so beautiful," his voice goes, and he looks down, trying to hide his tears. I hug him as he cries softly. I know being with her was scary, but we were at war, and she needed someone she trusted.
"You did good, Vince; we are so proud. Both girls are doing good and healthy considering the early birth." "Thank you so much," I say, hugging him. Liam hugs us both, and Vince cries more. He must have been so scared but held it together for Anna. I moved to look at our girl smiling at her sleeping form and look at her belly, once a little bump, now flat.
"She was in pain, so the doctor sedated her. "I never left." Vince moved so we both could sit near her.
"Was she scared?" I was worried about that the most.
"No, Alpha, she did better than me. I almost panicked, and she made me promise to hold her hand because she needed me. I'm sorry, alphas; I hope I didn't overstep." He looked at us concerned.
"Thank you, Vince. She needed you, and you stepped up. We really appreciate it. If you want, you can go check on the girls." His face lit up, and before we could say more, he hauled ass out of the room. Victor chuckled as his brother ran to see the girls, both cute little angels that looked like Luna but had their daddy's eyes and hair color.
"He will stay glued to them now; he loves kids." Victor smiled at us.
"Is she too pale? Do you think I should get the doctor? "When will she wake?" Liam was nervous; we could feel it, and I touched her hand, holding it as she trembled.
"Bro, she is okay, just resting; everything is okay, so just relax. The doctor will be in soon to make sure, so just rest if you're so worried; touch her, bro. She is breathing just fine. "I promise everything is okay, Liam," I reassured him because I know Ellie didn't let him be included in the pregnancy or labor. He looked unsure about a lot of stuff. He was worried, which was normal, but I didn't want him to be stressed.
"I am sorry, Derek. I'm just scared for her." He looked at her, taking a hand to kiss. The doctor came in and went over her labor and birth. The C-section because it was safer and nothing went wrong and everything was a standard C-section. He sedated Anna to help her rest and heal a little. Six to eight weeks of no sex till she is cleared, and after that she will only get pregnant when in heat.
Liam blushed as we looked at each other, and all I could do was chuckle.
"We got it, thanks, Doc." I smiled and then looked at Anna as she slept on.
"Derek, Liam looked worried; I don't know what to do here. I only took care of Chance after he was born. "Fuck, at this moment I hated Ellie so fucking much; she ruined his experience with pregnancy and birth.
"You're doing everything right, bro. I promise, just be here for her. Anna will still be emotional, but it will pass. She will most likely get grouchy and be hurting, especially after a C-section that takes time to heal. I can lead you through it, don't worry." I look at Anna, then back to Liam.
"Thanks, Derek. I'm really glad I'm here with you and her. Both of you are my world like the kids are. "I love you," he almost whispers, but I hear it.
"I love you Liam. If you want, you can join Vince, who I bet is staring at the girls like they will disappear, or stay with us; either way it's fine," he says, which I know was hard, but I also know he trusts Vince. Both brothers are really close to us and each other.
"Alpha, I'm going to go make sure Vince isn't harassing the staff; he gets a little protective," Victor chuckles as he leaves. "Derek, a little voice makes me jump. Are they okay?" I look at Anna and kiss her fingers.
"Yes, baby, both are great and getting the proper care and nutrients for them." Vince is watching over them right now," I say with a smile. He was so scared, but he was super about it all. He held my hand and talked to me the whole time. I was hoping to see him." Her voice cracked as tears filled her eyes. Liam got alarmed while standing.
"Baby, don't cry; he will come back soon." He stroked her hair.
"Rest, angel; you need it. We will take care of it all. "What names do you want?" I ask, waiting until she gets to decide what she likes and we will accept it.
"Not sure we didn't get time to choose. I thought we had time, but they decided to come early. "I'm sorry," she cries. Liam's eyes go huge as he looks stricken; she blames herself for this.
"Baby, no, you did nothing wrong. Don't say sorry, honey. This shit happens, and both are good and both are beautiful, like you. We love you, baby, so just rest for us." I kiss her temple.
Once she is out, Victor is back, dragging his brother behind him.
"He was barking out orders, scaring the nurses." Victor looks mad.
"Our nieces need care; they are princesses," Vince defends himself.
Holy shit, here we go. Not even a day old and he flips out. I just shook my head as he glared at his brother, wanting to run back to our pups.
Liam looks amused as Victor lectures his brother.
