A SURPRISE FOR YOU
The extra week given by the Alpha for people to get a hold of themselves flew by in the twinkle of an eye, and before the students could tell, it was almost time for resumption. Bella and Hazel had planned to shop for school, which was bound to begin in three days, while Sebastine was at the other end of the Frost Pack with Fae, finalizing their plans, which would throw Bella off balance on the first day of school.
Sebastine and Fae had met after Fae's suspension from school. She had requested a break from the Rune Pack from her parents, who spoiled her and couldn't say no. This enabled Fae to do some extra snooping until she found Sebastine, who was the son of the Rune Pack's Beta. Their families were close, so it wasn't difficult.
Her parents, on the other hand, paid off Mr. Ezekiel to retract his statement, enabling Fae to take her exams during the break. Having to do all that extra work made her swear to make Bella's life a living hell.
"So, do I need to go over the plans again?" Fae asked Sebastine, then he planted a kiss on her lips, pulling her closer to him with their bare bodies meeting, but Fae pushed him away with her brows drawn down. "I'm serious about this, Sebastine."
"I heard you loud and clear. It is easy—you love Ryder, and I love Bella. We just have to tear them apart, and we already have Hazel on my good side," he replied, and a smile crept up her lips.
"I might end up falling for you after this plan falls through," she said, sealing his lips with a kiss while his hands roamed over her body.
"Who knew shopping for school would be this difficult?" Bella exclaimed as she made her way to the car with the chauffeur carrying her bags and Hazel's.
"Yeah, it must be difficult having to spend a ton of money, which I have," Hazel said in a sarcastic voice, causing Bella to punch her arm lightly. "What? I am trying to be supportive here," she said, and Bella chuckled as they got into the car. "Honestly, I wish I could relate to rich people's problems, but I cannot. My aunt has to save up a lot to take me on vacation, and to be honest, this break is one of the best I have ever had."
When she said this, Bella felt bad, hating the fact that she had only acted like a whiny little brat.
"I'm sorry about that," she said in a low voice, and Hazel took her hand.
"You do not have to feel bad about that," she said, looking at Hazel. "I love the fact that you have rich people's problems, and I wish to have them someday. Plus, my best friend is nice, and she gets me nice stuff," she added with a smile, causing the corners of Bella's lips to raise as she placed her head on Hazel's shoulder.
The weeks had been rough, but she had Hazel, so half her problem was solved—or so she thought. After they got to Hazel's and she took her stuff into the house, the chauffeur drove Bella back to the Alpha's house, while Hazel tried to pack her bags as she had only two nights left, but the incessant ringing of her phone wouldn't let her.
She kept ignoring it until she heard someone blaring a horn in their driveway, causing her to rush to the window to take a look. As she drew the curtains open, she spotted a black car with tinted windows, which she assumed was Bella, but when Sebastine spotted her, he rolled down the tinted glass, causing her to jump in excitement as she dashed out of her room to the front door.
He opened the door from inside, and she got in, shutting it, then he pulled her into a brief kiss.
"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be back at the Rune Pack? Your school should be in session." She asked a lot of questions, and he kept mute, reaching for the back seat, grabbing a bouquet and a box of chocolates, then handing them over to her.
Hazel squealed in excitement, trying to stop the tears that were hanging from the corners of her eyes. Why was she even with Noah? She asked herself. The Moon Goddess must have made a mistake with the match, or Sebastine was her second-chance mate.
She dropped the gifts on her lap, then she pulled him into a warm hug, kissing his cheek.
"The fact I won't be seeing you for a while made me sad, so I came here to give you this. Plus, my family is here for a while regarding the passing of the Beta's wife, so I found you somehow."
His words barely meant anything to her, and all she could think of was how sexy he was. She wanted to have him right there, so she pulled him into another kiss, running her hands over his body, reaching down to his crotch area, attempting to undo his belt, but he broke the kiss, pulling her hand away.
"Hazel!" he called out, his breath rising.
His entire body was tense, but he didn't want to go that route with Hazel yet. Bella was who he wanted, and he had already crossed the line with Fae.
"I... I'm sorry if I misinterpreted what you wanted," Hazel said, pulling back to the seat with her head buried in her palms. "This is so embarrassing, and... and. I'll just go..." she reached for the door handle, but he caught her lips in a kiss, silencing her for a moment.
She looked at him with confusion all over her face.
"Hazel, I didn't come all the way here for nothing. It is true I fell in love with a stranger I met on vacation, but I respect you too, and I wouldn't want you to get into something that you are not sure of. We mustn't have sex because I got you minor gifts," he said, and she stared at him, wondering if he was real or if the Moon Goddess waved a wand, creating him, and magically sending him to her to heal her broken heart. He was perfect.
"I love you, Hazel, and I want you to be my girlfriend, but it is okay if..."
"Yes, I will," she said in excitement before he could finish. Then they shared another kiss, which lasted longer.
All the promises she made to Bella about being careful suddenly disappeared into thin air as she melted into his arms.
When they broke the kiss, Sebastine stared at his wristwatch. "It's getting a bit late, and I need to get going before my family freaks out, but I will be back to you on Monday. I have a surprise for you," he said, and she got out with her gifts, walking away with what she assumed were butterflies dancing in her belly as she wondered what the surprise could be…
