Chapter 361 Chapter 361: I’m Still Alive
Feeling humiliated, Mila said, “Are you really willing to raise the children of hers and another man? It’s not worth it.”
“Whether it’s worth it or not is up to me,” Tim said confidently, “Besides, what I want to do has nothing to do with others.”
“But she... She’s not good enough for you. You two are not a good match!”
“Who do you think you are to comment on us?” Tim was annoyed by Mila and couldn’t stand her rudeness anymore. “By the way, you are Mr. Hans’ ex-fiancée, right? Why did you two break up? Is it because you are not good enough for him?”
Blushing angrily and embarrassed, Mila said, “Mr. Hans and I broke up because of something else. This is my private affair. It’s none of your business.”
“Okay,” Tim said, “My relationship with Estelle is my private affair, and it’s none of your business. I like a single mother like her. Her husband passed away three years ago. She needs a husband, and her children need a father. I’d like to take care of them.”
Sitting in the auditorium, both Yohan and Yvonne were stunned when they heard his words.
Not daring to say anything, Yvonne raised her head and looked at Cristofer with her eyes wide open.
“Dad, why did he say that you are dead?” Yohan asked in a low voice.
Cristofer stared at Tim with his face darkened and sneered, “He needs to be taught a lesson.”
“Wow! Dad, are you going to beat him up?”
“No. He’s not worth me wasting my energy beating him up,” Cristofer said. Then he stood up with Yvonne in his arms and walked slowly toward the stage.
Seeing this, the staff member beside him immediately followed him, thinking that Cristofer was dissatisfied with the dating show.
“Mr. Hans, if you need anything or have any problem with the program, just let me know,” The staff said.
“I have no problem with it,” Cristofer said, then walked onto the stage, fixing his eyes on Estelle. “I just want to prove that I’m still alive.”
“What?” The staff member was confused.
Cristofer then shifted his gaze from Estelle to Tim, “Mr. Roberts, I’m alive, and I can take care of my children myself. You don’t need to worry about them.”
When Mila heard this, her eyes widened in shock, and she said, “Your children? Then you are Miss Hudson’s...”
“I am her children’s father,” Cristofer said with a smile and returned to his seat with Yvonne in his arms calmly.
“Well, I’ve finished my words. You can go on with the filming,” he said to the program director.
The program director was speechless.
The studio was silent for a moment, and the atmosphere was extremely awkward.
To end the awkward situation, the host skipped the current part and said, “Well, let’s start the next part. Dear guests, now please choose the one you want to develop a further relationship with and give them the rose in your hand. You will have a minute to make a choice.”
Then, the more embarrassing thing happened.
Tim chose Estelle. And when he gave her the rose, he looked at Cristofer with a provocative expression on his face.
Seeing the two of them staring at each other with hostility, Estelle was at a loss for what to do, and her palms were wet with sweat.
Later, something more dramatic happened.
Derrick, who had just engaged in a short conversation with Estelle, also presented his rose to her.
Estelle looked at him in surprise while he simply smiled gently at her without saying a word.
Since the previous events, Estelle became the center of attention during the rest of the filming, and the other guests seemed to fade into the background.
In the second half of the filming, Estelle was absent-minded and restless. She felt as though Cristofer’s intense gaze was a constant, painful reminder, and every passing second felt like an eternity.
When the show’s filming finally concluded, Estelle hurriedly left the stage, eager to exit the studio as soon as possible.
“Miss Hudson!” Derrick caught up with her swiftly.
Estelle glanced nervously toward the audience area but then quickly reminded herself that she had no reason to feel so anxious.
‘Cristofer and I are divorced, and I’m single now. There’s nothing wrong with participating in a dating show. He’s simply the father of my children and has no right to interfere in my personal life,’ she thought to herself.
Earlier, when Derrick had given her his rose, she had noticed Cristofer’s darkening expression.
Since Estelle returned from abroad, she had met Cristofer a few times. After talking with him on a few occasions, Estelle noticed that Cristofer was indeed emotionally unstable, as he had mentioned. Sometimes, Cristofer was good-tempered and would apologize to her after making her unhappy, but at other times, he got furious easily.
Eva had mentioned that Cristofer appeared cold and distant in the company. However, according to the children, he was gentle when they were with him. Cristofer seemed to have frequent mood swings. Estelle thought it best to keep her distance from Dr. Carrey, just in case Cristofer vented his anger on him.
“Hi, Dr. Carrey,” Estelle said softly. “I apologize for causing you any trouble today.”
“It’s alright,” Derrick shrugged and replied with a smile. “Here you go.”
As he spoke, he extended his hand towards her, and Estelle noticed a flower-shaped brooch sparkling in his palm.
“Your brooch fell on the ground earlier. With so many people in the studio, it would have been a shame if such an exquisite brooch had been stepped on.”
Hearing this, Estelle touched the left chest of her sweater. Not until then did she find that her brooch was missing.
“Oh, I didn’t even know when it dropped. Thank you, Dr. Carrey! Thank you so much!” she said.
Then, she carefully reached out and took the brooch from his hand.
There were thin calluses on Derrick’s fingers. Estelle guessed that they were caused by scalpels rubbing against them.
And she remembered that there were also thin calluses on Mr. Mysterious’ hand.
“What’s wrong? Is it broken? I picked it up immediately after I saw it drop on the ground,” Derrick said when seeing Estelle looking at the brooch silently.
Shaking her head, Estelle thanked him again, “No, it’s intact. Thank you very much, Dr. Carrey. This brooch is very important to me.”
“Is it... a gift from Mr. Hans?”
Estelle quickly denied, “No, it was designed and made by me. It’s a wedding gift.”
Derrick nodded knowingly and said, “I see.”
Derrick didn’t ask more about her private affairs. Instead, he just looked at the flower-shaped brooch and asked curiously, “Is this cherry blossom? It looks like a cherry blossom.”
“No, it’s malus halliana koehne.”
