“What’s up?”
“Someone called you just now, and I answered your phone.”

There were only Estelle and Gretchen in the dark and narrow stairway, and the two of them didn’t need to pretend to be friendly with each other anymore.

On their way back, Cristofer was absent-minded while driving.
Gretchen leaned over and said softly, “Is there anything wrong with the company? Vincent treats me as an outsider and refuses to tell me anything.”

“This tie is the birthday gift I bought for you before,” Gretchen said, sulking.
Cristofer frowned. “Your gift to me?”

“I suddenly remembered it when you reminded me,” Cristofer said as he looked straight ahead and focused on driving.
“Cristofer, you’re acting strange today. To be exact, you became strange whenever you met with Estelle.”
Cristofer immediately denied it, “I was just thinking about the business affair that Vincent just told me and was distracted.”
“Really?”
Cristofer couldn’t stand her attitude anymore and said, “Gretchen, you have never doubted me like this before.”

Cristofer then said, “I’ll drive you home first. You may rest at home for a few days. If you need anything, just call Vincent. He will help you handle everything.”
Gretchen held his arm and leaned against him. “What about you? You promised me that you would spend more time with me these days. My ankle is not fully recovered yet.”
“I’ll return to my company and will live in the Hans’ Residence at night,” Cristofer said as he pulled his arm away from her. “Yvonne is too young. I need to take care of her at night.”
“All right,” Gretchen replied to him reluctantly.
