Chapter 42: CHAPTER FORTY TWO

Alisha went for a walk in the woods all alone. She roamed around the woods all alone thinking about the recent experiences in her pack and the news Sam had just told her about their relationship.

How was she meant to stay away for some time? It was unfair for him to have said those words to her knowing how she had become so attached to him. The night Sam told her about the situation, she witnessed an emotional trauma, basically mopping round her room till the next day and now she was the woods trying to clear off her head.

She became so intrigued in the moment that she failed to notice the flapping of the birds before her, she tried to dodge the bird but it came at her, she was getting pissed at the little creature, a little more aggression and she would devour the life out of it. As if the birds heard her thought, they flew off just immediately.

Alisha had not seen the big timber before her, she hit her foot on a fallen timbers which prompted her to halt, and the big timber had thorns on it which scratched her legs deeply letting out some amount of blood. She saw something move at the edge of a big tree but she was taking one look at leg. As she bent to have a close glimpse on her bruises, she heard a loud cry which made her startle for a minute.

She felt it was just an owl so struggled to get herself out of the woods, and as she remembered Sarah’s attack in the woods she walked faster. She became limping at the ghostly woods until she heard a distant thud; this time she became more cautious trying to examine the woods but she couldn't see well because the trees were all the same, some slightly bent, while the others colored in different shapes.

Twigs breaking, slight noises, foot stamping from different directions in the woods was just enough for Alisha to realize she wasn’t alone there, PEOPLE WERE THERE ALSO. The thought of it sent shivers down her body, she knew it was either time to change or shift because the footsteps were approaching from different directions.

For a moment, Alisha gripped with fear but still moved on with courage until she saw a faceless muscular man in a gray hoodie coming towards her. Alicia became too scared this time, her heart began to pound at the sight of him, she wasn’t with any weapon but herself. She thought of running back but remembered she was bruised, so she stood firmly but scared, ready to fight back.

She began thinking if she should hesitate in throwing a punch or just wait. Lost in thoughts and imaginary action, Alisha found herself lifted up by the anonymous man she tried to break free from her hold, she tried to shift but she couldn’t yet, he was using every muscle within him to hold her back.

Finally, a soft kick on his eye caused him to drop her off on the ground groaning in pains of his eye. Alicia tried to run away but wasn’t fast due to her just sustained bruise, she was dragged by two other faces which could barely recognize; she tried to drift herself away but fell to the ground. This time she gave up because it was three against one and she knew couldn’t win. She was fighting them with the little strength she managed to gather.

She was dragged out of the woods into a black bus where she was blindfolded. Nevertheless, Alicia still tried to struggle out not minding how impossible it was going to be until she heard a voice saying

“GIVE IT TO HER NOW!” the voice commanded fiercely.

She was given a Rohypnol which made her become unconscious, she fell against the seat, and the men drove off immediately.

News had gotten to the Haiti pack about Alisha’s disappearance, they looked into every room in the mansion searching, her personal maid, Racheal was called to speak about her whereabouts because she was in charge of her and knew everywhere she went, Adam called her into his chamber to demand where Alisha went too’

“She did not inform me about her movement today," the maid replied.

“You mean she didn’t inform you where she was headed?" Adam asked, annoyed at his sister’s nonchalant attitude to serious matters such as safety.

“I checked for clues as to where she went in her room but I found nothing besides she has been acting strangely lately,” she replied.

“You may leave now,” Adam replied, acting strangely in what way. He hadn't had time to really notice his sister because most of his time was spent with Sarah. She was his all now.

Alicia was getting worried about her daughter’s disappearance before she met Sarah’s gaze, she eyed her suspiciously and wondered if she had not attacked and maybe killed her like she tried with Xana. She knew Sarah was dangerous but she didn’t know how dangerous she was.

Adam was getting upset, he knew his sister didn’t associate with stranger, she never got herself into trouble so he knew it was either she had been kidnapped or a wolf of some sort captured her which was impossible because Alisha’s shifting into wolf form was the swiftest.

“Guards! Guards! Search every nook and cranny of this mansion. Do not let any place go unchecked. Search for my sister! Go to the woods, find anything. Find something, find her!” Adam barked while Sarah was at a corner in the hall wondering where Alisha had disappeared too, she knew Alicia would raise a suspicious eye at her because they would deem her a suspect after what she did to Xana. The whole mansion was in disarray, all of them searching for links to Alisha.

Alisha stirred up from her slumber, he eyes flew open, she had been infused into a deep sleep, she remembered them giving her something as she struggled to get off their hold, the sun was definitely cold, she thought, the air smelled distant, she stood after staring off from her weakness, observed the little room she had been trapped, she looked around hoping to find someone or something but there was nothing, there was a little window just beside the closed door, she moved over to the window, pulled herself up to know where she was or why she was there but there was nothing, she had been kidnapped, but what had she done to deserve the kidnapping, she thought.

“Hello? Is anybody there? Somebody, help!” she screamed at the top of her voice hoping someone would hear her, but it was obvious she was trapped in a dungeon probably far away from where people lived.

It was silent as hell, as she could hear her voice reverberating round the room, the whole place was quiet and scary too. Maybe they were going to behead her, she thought. Everything was crashing and happening so fast, she thought, Sam had just told her about his decision, had a terrible migraine after the news, came out to cool her head and now trapped in a room.

She didn't know when hot tears starts streaming down her eyes, she hated been unable to do anything, “I would have fought harder'' she thought as she remembered how she was ambushed by the men, they manhandled her and drugged her to sleep, her wolf could not act in that state, the drugs had weakened her to a long sleep.

She was trying hard to think of anyone behind the attack but her only suspect was Sarah. Why would Sarah try to harm her? What had she done to deserve her hatred? She wondered pacing round the room, the habit of pacing was hereditary, inherited from her father before his death. She knew Adam would find her, their wolf connection was strong.

It was just a matter of time before she got off the shithole. As she pondered on all these, her eyes caught sight of a word on the wall, the words were faint, she could barely see them but as she managed to check closely, she saw “HAITI” written on the wall. So she was held captive by the Haiti pack, no wonder the mark on the big man’s left shoulder.

She was trying to understand what it meant. In all the rooms in the mansion, “COLVEN” was inscribed on the walls, it was a mark of unity. As she placed all the dots together, it made sense to her, she had been captured by the Haiti Pack, and it was Sam’s pack. She opened her mouth to scream but she couldn’t; she had been used and betrayed. She couldn’t believe Sam used her as bait. So all the times he told her he loved her were all lies to get her to fall for him, she hadn't thought of the manipulation yet before her heart started racing again.

“What would they possibly want from me?” Or maybe Sam told this pack about their affair? She doubted it, they made a pact not to speak to anyone yet till their elopement plans were fully made and she trusted him.

Did they force him to speak? All these thoughts laid bare and unanswered in her head, she felt her whole world crumbling, something just was not right, there must be an employed scheme, she thought still unable to process why she was kidnapped by the Haiti pack, the enemy pack. Growing up, she knew what it meant to not associate with them but now, she was attached to not anyone from the pack but the son of the leader of the pack.

“Help!” she screamed this time louder than the first hoping someone would possibly hear and rescue her.

Meanwhile, Adam could not control himself from getting angry, someone was pushing him out of his happy state to an angry state and he didn’t like it.

“Sir, we checked everywhere, we found nothing,” one of the guards replied

You stand before me to tell me that? Get out from my sight, you incompetent fools” He cursed beneath his breath, he was getting agitated when one of the guards came with news and a parcel.

Some minutes later, Adam was still pacing around, thinking of alerting the rest of the pack of Alisha’s disappearance even though most of them must have heard about it.

“Sir, this came for you just now,” the guard replied.

Adam knew it wasn’t time for jokes but someone was obviously playing hide and seek with him and he was going to get at the person.

“What is that?” he inquired sounding irritated that someone had brought a parcel and ran off, there was something amiss. In his years being an Alpha, he knew that was the enemy's usual scheme to warn.

“How did it get here?" he asked.

“I found it at the entrance of the house, someone must have dropped it and fled, sir. I tried searching for the person but I couldn’t find him," the guard replied.

“Open it.” He had long enough to know that when there is a pending danger, you’d have to be extremely careful. As the guards opened the parcel, the first thing that caught his eye was the Haiti wrap. It was familiar, enraged he dragged the parcel from his guards and opened it fully only to see his sister's locket and clothes covered in blood.

He was speechless; he slammed his hands against the wall, screamed. Alicia came running and stopped halfway when she caught sight of Alisha's clothes, she couldn’t wait to go close as she screamed, ran close to Adam, dragged the items from his hold and began to cry. The whole place was in agony, someone had entered their domain to start the war they could not finish in the past, some of the pack members that had heard about the news were there too. Xana came into the room to find a distressed Adam as she moved to sympathize with her, he shoved her aside and moved into his inner chambers.

Adam wanted to be alone. He was thinking of a perfect plan to attack the bastards who had killed his sister; those bloody bastards deserved to die, he thought. They had the guts to lay their hands on his sister, he would teach them never to mess with an alpha.

He was going to get them at all cost. The last time a war like this started, it didn’t end well, and he was ready for the continuation to fully avenge his father and sisters death. Without thinking, he reached for his weapon and dagger, he could hear his wolf say;

“Ooof, Oof!” Probably delighted that there was a fight to show himself, which was the satisfaction he needed as he stormed out of his room, headed for the door before Sarah stopped him, he wanted her out of the day, there was no time for soft talks but he just couldn’t tell her.

“I will be back.” That was all he told her before kissing her forehead and leaving the house, he heard her scream, “Stay, safe Adam,” but he knew better than to stay safe, even if it meant fighting for his sister, he would totally do it without fear. Alma was wailing at the top of her voice clutching the blood soaked clothes to her bosom.
