Chapter 44: CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR

KIM's POV

I'm leaving Rona at the hospital with many thoughts. There are so many I just want to talk to someone and clarify as much as I can. Luckily, Hugo is right on time, welcoming me with an open door and a warm, "Good evening Mrs Lionel. You seem tired, are you okay?"

Hugo and I have had really good conversations in the past. He's very attentive and open to my not-so-very-nice judgments too but he's calm regardless. I must also say he gives some really good advice and I can't wait to hear what he has to say concerning the newest update.

"A lot is on my mind Hugo," I reply as he walks over quickly to the driver's seat, almost like he's anticipating the gist. I chuckle a bit as I watch a 6-foot-5 bulky man hurry to his seat just to keep up with my confusion.

Buckling himself to the chair, he asked, "How could I help ma'am?"

"Cheryl broke Rhona's head today and I'm shocked. I thought they were best friends," was my opening.

"I thought so too. Miss Rhona okay? Where's Cheryl? Hugo replied feeling concerned.

"Rhona'a fine. I'm not sure about Cheryl, but my confusion is how people can be very pretentious and deceive the other for so long. I mean, I had never really liked Cheryl, but I thought at least there was something real and good about her that made Rhona stick with her."

At this point, I'm a bit anxious and I'm leaning forward, trying to make sure Hugo gets my perplexed expression.

"But I was wrong, Rhona had been manipulated for so long and when she decided to be self-conscious, she was left with a broken head," I said in a sarcastic voice.

Hugo clears his throat. "There are always bad and good people, and honestly we can not be very conscious of them. We get lucky in life when we have true and intentional friends and it's quite sad Miss Rhona was unfortunate with that. I'm glad at least that she has been exposed and we can know who to be weary of now."

I was right when I said Hugo gives the best conversations. I was calmed immediately and I thought about the good people I was blessed with. My husband, Jane, Hugo, and many others. I felt blessed to know that these persons would help shape my son to be his best self.

Smiling a bit I thanked Hugo and he welcomed me. He was kind of my go-to personal advisor, always happy to help.

Halfway through the stairs, I was drawn back by a noise in the kitchen.

"Marie, are you there?" I asked, thinking she hadn't left even though it was past her work time but I got no response.

I nearly fell down the stairs when I heard the noise of a glass bowl falling and shattering. I ran down the stairs and picked up a baseball bat from the wall. I'd always wondered why Craig left it there but today it came in handy.

Lifting the bat across my shoulder, tip-toeing with a sudden rush of adrenaline, praying deeply that what I think it is, isn't what is.

Well, there was a rush of another set of emotions as I walked in. Shock, disappointment but gratitude, amusement, and a spark of love. I found my husband in the kitchen trying to bake a cake or cakes I guess.

"Hey babe, what's with the base bat?" my darling Craig asked so casually.

"I was planning to hit you with it. What are you making? And why?" I replied.

"Hit me? Why?"

"I was scared out of my body when I heard the noise from the kitchen, and when I called out Marie's name, there wasn't an answer, only that half of my kitchen fell to the ground. I thought there was a stranger in here," I said walking over to him and noticing a cut on his finger.

"Jesus Christ! What were you thinking coming into the kitchen? You've never made tea before and now you are baking?!" I screamed with frustration and confusion as I hurriedly took him to the tap.

I washed off the blood gently and pulled out a first aid from the top shelf trying to find the goddamn antiseptic solution when I noticed a pair of eyes staring down at me.

Craig's eyes were so calm and full of sparks and I was caught off guard by them. While wiping off his wound and staring back into his eyes, he pressed a long kiss on my head.

"What was that for ?" I asked trying to control all the hormones in my body.

"I love you. I love you so much and I dare not think of my world without you in it." Craig had taken a deep breath after saying this and I bet you my breath went even deeper.

I was going to repeat the same before another kiss came in and this one was longer. I dropped off whatever was in my hand and wrapped them around his head and immediately I was swooped and hung on his waist. Oh my God, it had been a while since I let my hormones jump about without trying to make sure it was the right time. I mean, it's not the perfect time but damn it, I missed those strong arms on my ass.

I was thinking all of this when I landed on the bed. How I got the room, I wasn't sure but I also didn't give a shit. His body was already bare so the hassle was taken off me. It wasn't much of a hassle as my strong man pulled off both my shirt and bra with one swoop like a pro.

My pants went off the same way, maybe three swoops and I was back up hanging on his waist. My nipples, hard as ice were being treated accordingly by my husband as he sucked both accordingly, giving me tingly feelings as his hot saliva was a perfect contrast to my ice-cold nipples. Damn, how I had missed this.

Soon the strokes came in and, "Oh my God!" slipped out of my mouth then he paused, looked at me in one of the most powerfully satisfied ways, and continued. I was moved from his body to the bed, to the table, on my fours, on my back and I was alive!

"Good morning, my bad girl," was what I woke up to, and some body pains that I loved.

"What's with the title?" I said squinting my eyes due to the rays of sun coming from the open curtain.

"Last night had me wondering how I bagged someone perfect at everything, and I came up with the title," he said pressing a kiss to my head, then my neck before pausing, looking me in my eyes like it was his first time.

"Let's go Bali. I have everything set up for us." His words came as a surprise to me.

"All of a sudden? What about Jason and Rhona and..." Another kiss shut me up.

"It's all figured out. Last night I wanted to bake cause I know you love cakes and I needed you to feel special. I realized I hadn't said much about loving you recently and I was looking for ways to do that, except last night..."

"Was a disaster," I concluded and we both laughed about it.

"It's been some rough moments recently and I need us to get better, that's why I decided on the trip."

"How can I resist such a need from my man?" I said as I pushed myself on top of him and dropped a kiss.

"I can't wait to be there with you my love. When are we leaving ?"

"Now," Craig replied sitting up. "The jet is ready and Hugo is waiting."

"Oh my." I jumped up to rush to the bathroom when I noticed our packed bags and I smiled. "Baby, you're every woman's dream man," I said to him, pecking his lips and jumping to shower.

A few hours later I was on a jet, feeling the most romantic ever when Craig said we were about to land. I was so happy. Too happy even. No thoughts came to mind as I watched the landscapes from so high up except the thoughts of how much I loved Craig. He had been the blessing and compensation life gifted me and I was eternally grateful for.

I dramatically screamed over the world, "I love my husband!" causing all the attendants including my husband to be stunned but Craig replied in the same action screaming;

"I love my wife!" And I kissed him.

We landed on an island and there was a house there. Craig carried me princess style in there and there was a repetition of last night. Although, slower and more positions we reached. Oh, how I loved this man.
