Victoria's POV
I noticed he was nervous, which got me curious, wondering what was actually bothering him. ''Are you alright.'' I asked, while meeting his gaze, but he nods his head as a response and stood on his feet.
He flickered a weak smile to me before going to his drawer, pulled it out and took something from it which I couldn't see. I watched him turned around and strolled up to me while holding a small box in his hand.
''You got another bracelet.'' I asked, but he shook his head and fell to his knees right before me, which made me sat properly on the bed while I gave him inquisitive eyes. ''What…'' He did not let me finish before cutting in.
''Hey Vicky.'' He called my name in a whisper which made my heartbeat accelerates. ''For the past few days I've been living in fear thinking I wouldn't have the chance to say this to you, but little did I know that the moon goddess has another plan for us…'' He hesitated and nervously licks his lips before speaking up. ''When I thought Emma was my mate I did everything possible to love and cherish her as a mate, but never a day did I have the thought of spending my entire life with her. All I wanted was to make her my Luna and that's all. Never did I imagine spending my whole life with her, but when I realized you were my mate, I couldn't stop but think of making you my wife and the mother of my unborn children.'' Hearing those words from him, I couldn't hold back tears from tumbling on my cheek.
''I love you so much Victoria, and can't think of a life without you by my side… ''He paused and swallowed nervously before he opened the box revealing a diamond ring which made me opened my lips in awe.
''I want to sleep and wake up with you by my side. I want your face to be the last thing I see before going to bed. And I want you to be the first thing I see when I awake.'' He said and took a step closer to me by his knees. ''I love you so much Vicky, I love you more than life itself and can't imagine life without you…'' He hesitated and took a deep breath, '' Please marry me and make me the happiest man on earth.'' He pleaded and glared at me with a pleading look. Sucking in a deep breath, I wiped the tears from my cheek and stood to my feet. Without a second thought, I dropped to my knees right before him and flickered him a big smile before speaking up.
''I consider myself the luckiest woman on earth to have a mate like you.'' Hearing those words from me, he flashed me a big smile and tried not to blink his eyes. ''I love you so much, Alpha Derick, and can't imagine life without you.'' Saying those words, I brought forth my hand to him,'' And it would be an honor to be called your wife. Yes, I will marry you, alpha Derick.'' I said, which made alpha Derick smiled widely and couldn't hold back his tears this time. ''Put the ring on me, my fingers are inching.'' I said, which made alpha Derick laughed loudly and took out the ring from the box. He gently held my hand and put the ring in my finger before placing a long kiss on it. ''Thank you.'' He smiled widely at me and gave me a tight hug while squeezing me to himself. ''I promise to make you happy for the rest of my life.'' He mumbled those words while I nod my head and relaxed in his arms. We stayed in each other's arms for a while before pulling away. He stood on his feet and pulled me to my feet and placed a kiss on my forehead.
''You need to take a shower while I go check what's going on.'' He said while I nod my head and placed a soft kiss on his lips before walking away. With a smile on my face, I walked into the bathroom, took off my clothes and stood on the running shower tap. Slowly, I took my bath and drifted my thought to Bernard, which made anger ran down my spine as I gently caressed my stomach. Sighing heavily, I wiped off those thoughts from my head and tried to communicate with my wolf, who has been howling excitedly in my head.
''Finally.'' I whispered to her
''Yes, finally.'' She replied happily, which made me scoffed and put off the shower.
''I think I should give you a name.'' I said to my Wolf, and she responded quickly, ''I thought you wouldn't do that.'' She grumbled which made me chuckled and shook my head. ''I have been busy, but that doesn't mean I never had the intention of giving you a name.'' I said and got a scoff from her which I ignored. ''So what should I name you.'' I asked, ''Something sexy.'' She responded quickly.
Chuckling softly, I walked out of the shower and tied a towel around my chest, before stepping into the room. ''Beatrice, I'll call you Beatrice.'' I said it out loud and got a silence response from my wolf as she process the name. ''You never told me I gave you so much joy.'' She said, while I scoffed and opened the closet, which consisted of Only alpha Derick's clothes.
Smiling happily to myself, I took out a simple wear out of his closet, put it on and dried my hair with the hair dryer before leaving the room. Out of curiosity I took the stairs down to the sitting room and met alpha Derick having a discussion with few wolverines including Clinton. They all moved their attention to me when they noticed my presence.
''You should be resting.'' Alpha Derick said and led me to a seat, ''I'm fine, you don't have to worry about me.'' I said and got a nod from him. Blinking a big smile, I shifted my gaze to alpha Lin only to notice his gaze were on the floor, not wanting to meet my gaze.
''Hello alpha Lin.'' I said, calling out his attention, compelling him to raise his gaze. We held each other's gaze and I flashed him a friendly smile before speaking up,'' Mother Earth has given us a Chance to live, and I don't want to live this life having grudges in my heart.'' I paused and met the proud eyes of Alpha Derick on me. ''I and Beatrice have nothing against you, we've forgiven you and wish we can work to make this world a better place for all the werewolves.'' I said and got a grateful smile from Alpha Lin, which I returned.
''Who is Beatrice.'' Alpha Derick asked, ''My Wolf. Do you like the name.'? I said excited, ''Yeah, it's beautiful.'' He said and placed a soft kiss on my forehead before pulling away.
''Congratulations.'' Clinton said, while staring at my finger, which made me blushed and flashed him a pleased smile.
A week later
''Why don't you stay home.'' Alpha Derick pleaded, but got a big frown from me as a response. Without saying a word, I picked up my jacket and walked out of the room while he did the same. We took the stairs down to the sitting room, responded to the greetings of the servants we met on the way before leaving the mansion. Outside the door of the mansion, a car was already waiting for us while Anthony stood by it.
''Greetings.'' He greeted and lowered his head in respect.'' Hello Anthony, are you the one going with us.'' Alpha Derick asked. ''Yes, please don't object.'' Anthony pleaded and opened the door of the back seat of the car for us.
''You know we have drivers, and you shouldn't be doing their job.'' Alpha Derick said and stood aside for me to go in before joining in. Anthony got into the driver's seat and starts the car.
Few minutes into the drive, Alpha Derick spoke up, ''You know Bernard will be there.'' He said, but didn't get a response from me, rather I looked outside the window. So many things were going through my mind, but for strange reasons I did not really blame Bernard. He was in love and only wanted to have the woman he loves, but went the wrong way.
The car came to a halt and parked in one of the parking space of the hotel. Before Anthony could come out of the car, Alpha Derick opened his door and came out of the car, while Anthony rushed to mine before I could open it myself. ''You don't have to do it.'' I said, but just got a nod from him. I followed Alpha Derick towards the entrance of the hotel, but alpha Derick turned around and signaled Anthony to go in with us.
The venue of the meeting was on the last floor and there was no need to take an elevator.
Alpha Derick directed us to the meeting hall, and we met a werewolf and a vampire guiding the entrance door. Both lowered their head in respect and opened the door for us to go in.
I walked into the hall side by side with Alpha Derick while Anthony walked behind us. The moment we stepped into the hall, our presence was felt and everyone moved their attention to the door to get a glimpse of us. Ignoring their stare, I walked side by side with alpha Derick to the front seat and we both took our seats, ignoring the high table seats that were kept for us.
I moved my attention to the high table and saw that the table was surrounded by high ranks of vampires and alphas, including Bernard.
Our gaze met, and he held it while giving me a remorseful look. I thought I would burn in anger and rage if I see him, but holding his gaze, I realized all the anger in me died instantly.
