Chapter 6
Third Person Ominous As the elevator door opened on the 20th floor of the head office of Al Jahaan Group, Taimur entered the hall in which all his secretaries were seated. He had 4 personal secretaries and all of them were male. He couldn't bear to have any women around him. But when he was on tour, one of his secretaries was found to have passed inside information to his enemies. He was fired immediately and a woman was appointed in his place by the GM of Al Jahaan Group.
The 20th floor had his office and the offices of his aides. As he was passing through the hall with Ahmed and Riyadh, he noticed something was wrong, as he turned his head towards the table of one of his secretary, he found her sleeping with her head on the table. He came to a sudden halt. All the men in the room noticed the object of his attention. One of his secretary Mustafa cursed himself.
How the hell didn't he notice her sleeping? Maybe because the moment he got a call that Taimur was in the elevator and headed towards the office, everything was chaos. They started calling each Head of the Department for the reports of the past two months. And didn't pay attention to Eva who out of extreme boredom of not having to do any work had slept on her desk.
"Wake her up". He barked and headed towards his office. Mustafa turned into action and started waking up Eva with a little tap on her shoulder.
"May please 5 more minutes". She said in sleep without raising her head.
"Eva!!!! I am not May, and you are not in your bed. Wake up fast I have work to do, Boss is here." Mustafa started shaking her shoulder with a little force.
Eva woke up with a jerk and tried to focus on Mustafa's face. "What did you just say, is he back?" She was in a panic mode.
"Yes, he is back and he caught you sleeping. He looks in a very bad mood. If I were you I would worry about saving my life". Mustafa tried to scare her. At that very moment, the intercom buzzed, Mustafa, picked up the receiver.
"Send her in, with the finance report". Taimur ordered. " Right away Sir". Mustafa replied and took the file from the secretary of the finance manager who had just stepped out of the elevator. He handed the file to Eva with pity in his eyes and said: "He wants you in his office now, hurry up!!!!" Mustafa exclaimed.
Eva was still panicking, she didn't expect to meet him in such a manner, she always had planned to surprise him with her intelligence and hard work on their first encounter, but things don't work out as we plan, do they? She took a deep breath before knocking on the door of his cabin. After she heard his permission to enter she turned the handle and stepped inside his office.
It was the first time she had entered his office. No one except Mustafa had the permission to go into his office, in the absence of the CEO. She was taken off guard by the interior of his office. The color scheme was white and grey, there was a glass wall opposite to the entrance in front of which an oakwood desk was placed. It was thrice the size of the desk in Stevens office. The office was huge, paintings hung on the three walls of the office, There was a door on the right side of the office maybe it was a washroom.
Eva stood in front of the door with her lower jaw touching the floor in amazement. Then she realized all the three men in the room were watching her reaction with sharp eyes. She didn't miss the emotion of disgust in those green eyes. All three men were very handsome, but the sheer power and rawness that radiated from Malik Taimur Jahaan was no match. He sat on his chair as a King sat on his throne. Ready to crush the world under his feet. He had an air of authority and dominance around him. He cleared his throat before speaking.
"Ms. Smith, if you are done with your sleep and the examination of my office, I would like to get back to business". He spoke in his mesmerizing deep voice. Eva felt like someone had put a bucket full of water on her. She never felt and experienced such humiliation before.
She was biting her lower lip in embarrassment and said, " I am extremely sorry Sir for my misconduct, but as you know in your absence I didn't have anything to do and was fed up with sitting idle." She answered in a low voice, head hung down in humiliation.
" So you made better use of time by sleeping in the office, didn't you?" Taimur asked her watching Eva as she was biting her sensual lip in a very innocent way. He then glanced towards Ahmed and Riyadh who were also gawking at her. "Assholes". He cursed them under his breath, he realized what effect the girl standing in front of him had on men. He was never attracted to any other female in years in a sexual way. He didn't like the emotions this girl was arousing in him. He shifted his gaze on the file she was holding in her hand.
Eva noticed his gaze on the file in her hand and she approached his desk and kept the file in front of him. He stole a glance at her face and diverted his attention to the file in front of him. " Bring coffee, Ms. Smith". He dismissed her from the office because he didn't like the way Ahmed and Riyadh were looking at her and addressed his aides, " I don't think I will need you anymore, you can head towards your cabins". He dismissed them both in the same manner and opened the file.
Eva panicked because she didn't know what type of coffee he drank. As she stepped out of the office she headed towards Mustafa who was speaking with someone on the telephone. He with an action of his palm told her to wait. She thought of asking for help from the other two secretaries but gave up the idea, they were too grumpy and never got along well with Eva.
Mustafa spoke on the telephone for another ten minutes. By the time Eva's patience was giving up. One thing she had learned in this office from the other employees was that her boss didn't like waiting. The task needed to be carried out as soon as it came out of his mouth. "Mustafa please I can't wait, Boss has ordered me to bring coffee and I don't have a clue what kind of coffee he drinks?" She asked him impatiently.
Mustafa was surprised at her question, he kept his palm on the receiver and told her she could find it in the file he gave her on the first day of her job. Eva scolded herself for being such a jerk. How did she forget about the file? Maybe the man had such an effect on others, that people panicked when he was around. She rushed towards her desk and pulled out the file from the drawer. As she was opening the file the intercom buzzed. She picked the receiver and before she could speak, she heard Taimur's voice "Ms. Smith I think I asked you for coffee and it's been 12 minutes". Eva was startled by his voice.
"Sir I will be there in 5 minutes with the coffee". She answered dreading what he will say next.
"In my office now". He barked in the receiver and disconnected. Eva nearly ran into his office. The man was a devil. Enough to give people a heart attack. She entered the office without knocking and soon realized her mistake when she met his gaze, which told her what she had done. Her heart started beating faster, she was sure she was having a panic attack. Taimur was speaking to someone on his cell phone, he was speaking in Arabic so she couldn't understand a word he was saying. She just stood there in front of his desk with her head bowed.
After a few minutes, he disconnected the call and rose from his seat. He took a few long strides towards her, Eva noticed how gracefully he moved, like a leopard ready to pounce upon his prey. Taimur then halted in front of her. Eva swallowed the gulp in her throat and looked at him with terrified eyes. He was towering over her nearly by a foot. He was wearing the traditional robe of Azmaayir in white color. There was a white headscarf traditionally tied around his head. And he was staring at her with an unknown emotion in his green eyes. Eva didn't realize she was biting her lip in fear of what would happen next.
Taimur rose his hand and traced his thumb across her lower lip. Eva was taken aback. Then he spoke in his husky deep voice, " I want to make it clear to you for the first and last time, you won't bite your lip ever in front of me again".
Eva was watching him with utter amazement in her icy blue eyes, "What did he just say and did?" She realized how dangerous it was for a woman to be around him. She had never felt like this since the death of Robb. But this man with his magical personality was arousing such emotion which she had never felt before. She was gaping at him when he shocked her with his command," Now get out!!" He snapped at her and headed back towards his seat.
Eva hurried out of his office with her heart beating as if it would come out of her chest.
