Chapter 64
I shifted into my white wolf form, a sense of power and freedom washed over me. Strutting around before Dominic, I could feel the eyes of the pack on me, their gasps and praises ringing in my ears.
They marveled at the sight of their Luna transformed into a pure white wolf, a symbol of strength and purity.
But it was Dominic's reaction that mattered most to me. As I caught sight of the shock and awe in his eyes, mixed with that of pride for me. He was left speechless, his gaze locked on me with a mixture of adoration and admiration.
Dominic, stooped down to my level, his blue eyes in awe, his hand gently stroking my white fur as he mouthed the word "beautiful."
A soft purr escaped me as his touch sent shivers down my spine. Despite the seriousness of our situation, his simple gesture filled me with warmth and reassurance.
"I'll give you two a minute." Alpha Scott smiled, walking away along with Michael and a few others.
"This was the reason you decided to ride on top of me, with our son on my back when coming back, not because you were scared your son would fall off my back." he murmured, his voice tinged with surprise but then a smile graced his lips.
"Yes," I mind-linked my confirmation. But before I could fully respond, his expression shifted to that of surprise and shock again.
"And this was why you never shifted at the age of sixteen," he continued, his eyes searching mine for confirmation. But my response was swift and certain. "No," I mind-linked, shaking my head.
"I had first turned when I was fifteen. When I found out my wolf was white my parents tortured me into keeping it a secret. This made my wolf dormant and with its supernatural abilities, it concealed itself to the point no one could know I had a wolf." I explained to him before further carrying on.
"I had tried plenty of times to shift after this to prove that I had a wolf but there was no luck, not until that day of my rejection. With the unbearable pain I was feeling I had somehow managed to awaken my wolf from its dormant state." I confessed.
Upon telling everything to Dominic he remained still, his face masked without emotions as if deep in thought.
Suddenly his eyes flashed red showing that he was angry. His wolf was angry. His wolf was fighting for control.
"I'll kill her." he snarled, making my eyes widen.
"Dominic." I called out to him getting no response from him as he marched away in anger.
A whine escaped my lips as he stopped in his tracks. Taking a glance at me still in anger, I whined once more, wiggling my tale. I didn't want him to harm my mother despite our indifferences, my abilities were able to make her change for the better.
"Come back to me," I ordered him.
Dominic balled his hand into fists, his eyes changing colors to his soft blue one's. I smiled happily, my wolf purring with pride as Dominic made his way back to me.
I could actually order an alpha wolf!
Such a fete!
Stooping back down to my level, alpha ran his fingers through my fur once again making me purr at him.
His eyes however held pain and I desperately wanted to comfort him.
"I know you've forgiven me for all the wrong I've done my little mate but the pain I've caused you will forever haunt me. This is a good thing because it will always remind me to always cherish you for being a remarkable wolf." Dominic confessed.
There was only one thing stopping me from being complete and that was Mathew. This moment would've been beautiful if my baby boy wasn't missing.
I whined once more in pain, "I know, we will get him back." Dominic pulled me into his arms while stroking my furr.
Alpha Scott's voice was firm as he came back to interrupt us, "Freya, it's time to go."
It was time to leave Alpha Dominic's side, even if just for a while, to focus on finding our son. Despite knowing it was necessary, the thought of being separated from Alpha Dominic filled me with a sense of longing and unease.
I was incapable of resisting leaning into Alpha Dominic's arms as I felt his protective grasp tighten around me and finding comfort in his presence. His arms gave me that. I needed that sense of security so badly right now, even though I knew that our time together was done.
Every step seemed like a betrayal as I followed Alpha Scott. However, I was aware that our son's security was of the utmost importance, and I was willing to go to any lengths to ensure his return, even if it meant compromising my personal well-being.
With a gentle push, I managed to extricate myself from his embrace, ignoring the ache in my heart as I stepped back.
"You sort of smell like Linda anyway," I teased, hoping to lighten the mood with a hint of humor. To my relief, Alpha Dominic chuckled, his eyes softening as he reached out to ruffle my hair affectionately.
I loved our little moments together.
Despite the tension between us, I trusted Alpha Dominic implicitly. I knew he must have been interrogating Linda, but I had faith in his integrity and loyalty. He would never betray me or our bond, no matter what circumstances may arise.
Plus I hadn't felt him cheating.
With reluctance I turned away from my mate and headed towards the forest with the others giving one last glance to my mate before running off.
We ran for what seemed like hours, the sky changing with every hour. As we continued running through the woods, we finally reached our destination-a clearing where the pack had just finished battling rogues.
The aftermath of the fight was evident, with wounded pack members being tended to and the scent of blood thick in the air.
Alpha Scott and the others wasted no time in rushing to assist their pack members.
I, on the other hand, wasted no time in creating a protective shield around us, using my powers to create a barrier of energy to keep the pack safe from any potential threats.
As I poured my energy into creating the pack shield, a sudden epiphany struck me like a bolt of lightning. How had I not thought of this before?
"Why hadn't I thought of this all along?!"
