Chapter 19 CHAPTER 19

Chapter 19 CHAPTER 19
I looked at where our hands were joined together, and I couldn't help but smile. His hands are way bigger than mine and he intertwined them perfectly.

“I love what you did with your hair,” he says to me, another compliment that has me breathing a different type of air.

“Thank you,” I blush, remembering how many times I did and undid the hair with several videos on YouTube guiding me. I finally got it to look half decent and it meant so much that he noticed it.

No one else did.

“And your dress too, although I'm jealous.”

“Of what? Sorry, of who?”

“Other guys will see you like this, we're not even in the same class. I get to see you just once in a day but every one of them stares at you all day, probably thinking dirty thoughts.”

“Whoa, calm down, it's just a gown.”

“And fishnet stockings. Every guy has fantasies of those.”

“Okay, if it bothers you so much, I won't wear it again.”

“No, I want you to wear it but only when we're together.”

I nodded, wincing at the power in his voice. He was angry one second, commanding the next and praising me on the third.

“Where are we going?” I asked as the silence stretched, only interrupted by the sound of our feet walking around the school.

Everybody else was in class except us.

“Somewhere private. I've barely had time with you alone since we met. I don't like that.”

“You're always busy, and it's not like we're running out of time.”

“I'm eager to see you alone because I want to know how you are when there's no one to perform for but me.”

It sounded romantic but I don't think the meaning was that good but I shrugged it off, walking with him as he changed the path we were on and down one that didn't have anybody in the hallways.

“Kane…”

“Yes, my love?”

“Are you sure this place is safe?”

“So because one ceiling fell, you think the entire school is doomed to crash?”

“I nearly died, I'm not sure you got that part of the gist.”

“I heard Valkori saved you. Was it true?”

“Yeah, he said he was walking by when he heard me scream and he ran to save my life.”

“Don't worry, you won't be needing saving when you're with me. My father owns the school and I know which places are the safest and this place is absolutely safe.”

“Oh. Where exactly is… here?”

It was one class in a series of classrooms we'd walked by with nobody in them. Yet everywhere was clean and prepared for classes.

“This is where the evening classes are held.”

“Evening classes?”

“Don't worry, only those who need it are aware of it. Come, sit down.”

He pulled me to one of the benches and my stomach did that thing again.

Not really butterflies but something was moving.

Hopefully not hunger, I would be too embarrassed to breathe for the next unforeseeable future.

Kane stared into my eyes the second he sat down and then as if I wasn't mesmerised enough, he lifted his hand and began roping my hair into his fingers.

“You're really pretty Sera. I wonder what you'll look like when you fill out fully.”

“I'm too skinny?”

“Of course not, you're perfect the way you are. But I'm a real man and I don't mind extra flesh, you know?”

“I'll… I'll eat more.”

“Not too much though, wouldn't want you looking like that your friend.”

“What's wrong with my friend?” I frowned, defensive.

“She's okay, I just won't date her. You on the other hand, you are good now and can be better. You are in control of how you look. They say ground zero is always the best place to start.”

“Kane I don't know if you are pleased with how I look or not. Which is it?”

“I already told you baby girl, you're perfect for me.”

And then he kissed me.

No warning, but then he'd been right in my face since we've been talking and his eyes have been staring at my lips longingly.

The kiss was… fine.

There were no fireworks, no fluttering butterflies and he probably forgot to wash with a fluoride toothpaste but it's my first kiss.

The books definitely lied and I should focus on the kiss more.

I tried getting into it, but I was spending more time shoving his spit from my mouth back into his that I couldn't focus.

Then I pulled back.

“You taste like the nectar of the gods,” he muttered, clearly pleased with the kiss.

I moved back on the chair a bit, needing some space to breathe.

“That was… um.. that was something,” I exhaled shakily.

“You know, I've been meaning to do that since you started tutoring me. You'll be talking math gibberish and I'll be struggling to control my need to have your lips in mine. Come here baby,” he finished, pulling me in for more.

But I hadn't recovered from the last one and I know that no matter how hard I tried to hide my displeasure about the kiss, he would have seen it on my face.

He didn't care.

He powerfully kissed my lips and shoved his tongue in then he took it a step further.

His hands began moving, from my neck, to my shoulders and then my sides.

I pulled back immediately.

“What? You don't like it?”

“I… I just need to breathe. I'm um…”

“Come on baby, don't be shy. We're alone now, and who knows when next I'll have the time for this, hm? Let me taste your lips.”

I didn't stop him, at least for the few seconds he was just kissing me but his hands went to my boobs and I pushed off him, standing up.

“That's… I'm not ready for that.”

“For what? It's just a kiss. You're grown, aren't you?”

“It's more than a kiss and you know it!”

“Hey, hey, slow down, I was just trying to make you feel good, okay? No need to be ungrateful about it.”

“I'm… I'm sorry, I'm just not..”

“Comfortable with my touch. I get it. These loose girls around school have made me… You know what? Never mind. Let me return you to class before the next period.”

I nodded and he stood up and took my hand in his again.

When we got to the door, he pulled me into a hug and I felt all the bad energy fizzle out of me.

It was my first time so I guess it's not supposed to be sunshine and rainbows.

“I'll see you at lunch,” he said when we got back to class and I nodded, happy he wasn't upset with me and my weirdness.

Gosh, I felt like I was ruining a good thing by being such an uptight person.

“Sit down and give me all the details!” Naomi squealed the second I sat down and even though I could have told her everything, I didn't.

I paint the image I wished was true and she was excited as I wished to be.

He doesn't see me during lunch as he'd promised but I understand, he's very busy with school and besides, it's been a while since I spent a lunch break with my best friend so I do that happily.

School closed and I went to my car but stopped at a particularly empty spot, one that's usually occupied by a beat-down truck.
I don't know how he has such a flamboyant wardrobe but drives something like that but it hurt somewhere inside of me that Mr Valkori wasn't in school. I enjoyed his class more than anyone else.

I got home and Kane still hadn't texted me yet and all I could think was how I'd ruined it before things got deeper.

Feeling overwhelmed, I decided to text him. Maybe he forgot and a nice message will get him back to me.

{Hey baby, I had an amazing time with you this morning. We should do it again soon.}

And then I waited, with my heart nearly popping out of my chest for hours.
But he never responded.
