Chapter 47 The Third Party

Chapter 47 The Third Party
Rossie successfully stunned everyone in the room, even Miranda. It was no secret that Rossie was Bryce Johansen's ex-wife.

All they could think about now was Rossie's background. Considering that the Johansens were one of the most prominent families with billions in assets.

Rossie's courage to challenge him made everyone think that maybe Rossie came from a wealthy family with ten times more assets than the Johansens. “Huh! It seems that your closeness to Mr. Cavendish has changed your personality. You've become too bold and uncontrollable. How wonderful! After leaving my son, you're dating a richer man!” Miranda quipped.

Rossie chuckled and seemed dismissive, “I will speak politely to people who are polite to me, but if he...”

Rossie didn't continue her words but looked down on Miranda and made her face red.
“Rose, my mother is older than you, you should be more polite to her!” Kely immediately stood up to defend her mother, while Rossie chuckled.

Darren, who was there, couldn't take it anymore and immediately said firmly, “Everyone knows who started it.”

“Huh! Rossie, why are you so out of control? Everyone knows that this man is Mr Dominic's secretary, and now you're bossing him around as if you were the one paying his salary. Don't you think you're overstepping your bounds?” Lily added in defence.

“Hmm, it seems you really like to spread gossip, huh?” Rossie replied sarcastically.

Lily fell silent and pouted a little. She used to think Rossie was just a simple and weak village girl. But now, she had changed a lot.

“Miss Winter, we are doing this for your own good. You shouldn't be here. What if they kick you out?” said Daisy insincerely, like her daughter.

“After all, you were the third person in Lily and Bryce's relationship, and now you yourself feel uncomfortable.”

After hearing her words, the crowd looked at Rossie with contempt and disdain.

However, Rossie laughed when she heard this and folded her arms across her chest, “Ha ha, Mrs. Jones, have you forgotten that I married Bryce Johansen when he was still single? But what did your daughter do when I was still married to Bryce? Do you need me to mention how she clung to my husband?”

Daisy and Lily immediately became frightened and pale. Everyone knew that Lily had not been in Aether City for three years.

Rossie glanced at Darren and nodded. Darren understood and immediately distributed copies of Rossie and Bryce's marriage certificate to several guests. The marriage certificate was complete with a date that further strengthened Rossie's status.

“With the number listed on the certificate, you can check with the civil registry to see if it's real or not, and you can also find out if Bryce and I are divorced or not. But as you've heard recently, Lily Jones said she was going to marry Bryce. Who do you think the third person is?” replied Rossie.

Lily's face immediately turned red, and her knees felt weak. Lily and the others were helpless; they were forced to sit back down.
The auction was about to start in less than five minutes, and almost all the VIPs were already seated. Miranda and Kelly were sitting in the back row, and that's when they accidentally saw Alex in the VIP row.

“The Thorne family is very concerned about security, they would never allow us to move to the front row, no matter what.” Miranda grumbled and said again, “But don't worry, Kelly, I'll find a way for you to be with Alex Thorne in the future. With your talent, beauty, and clean background, Alex will definitely fall in love with you.”

Kelly, who liked Alex, blushed. “Mom, Bryce knows Alex. Can you talk to him and ask him to help me?” Kelly pleaded with a pout.

Miranda's face turned cold. She couldn't allow herself to beg the child. It was too demeaning.
“What about Catherine? She's your sister, after all!”

"She's probably running away somewhere again. Mom, can we not take her out? She always pouts every time the camera points at her. It's so embarrassing!“ Kelly snorted in annoyance.

”You know your sister has problems. She's 20 years old, so I have to take her out and let her socialize. If there's a young man from a good family who likes her and wants to marry her, I'll marry them off right away."

Kelly smiled, not expecting her mother to have another brilliant plan.

Meanwhile, the woman from the Jones family felt uncomfortable sitting in the back.
“Mom! Bryce is in the front row. I want to sit next to him!” Lily whined and stood up.

But as soon as she left her seat, an attendant stopped her. “Sorry, ma'am, all the seats here are assigned. You can't change seats.”

“Not allowed? Ha! Who do you think you are? Do you know who I am?” Lily asked arrogantly, lifting her chin.

“We don't care who you are! What is clear is that those seats already have owners!” replied the security guard coldly.

Lily was shocked. She didn't know what to say.

“The chairman of Thorne Corps personally arranged the seating for tonight. You cannot break the rules, even if you are a Thorne relative.”

Lily was angry and wanted to argue. But Daisy pulled her back and held her.

“Come on! It's just a seat, don't make a scene!”

Even though she said that, Daisy couldn't help feeling annoyed when she saw Bryce sitting in front of her and not looking at her. They completely ignored her, and she couldn't help feeling jealous.

The venue was almost full, with only Dominic Cavendish's seat still empty. Bryce glanced to the side and quickly looked away.

“Hmm? Why hasn't Mr. Cavendish arrived yet? Maybe he changed his mind?” Bryce muttered in surprise.

Suddenly, the door at the back of the venue opened. All eyes were drawn there. Bryce, who was usually cold and indifferent, couldn't help but look too.
At that moment, his breath caught in his throat, and his heart pounded. He saw his ex-wife with dark red lips and wearing charming high heels. She walked confidently and steadily to the front row without looking back.
