Chapter 31 A Gift

Chapter 31 A Gift
Bryce watched the waitress, narrowing his eyes. He demanded an explanation from her.

"I told Miss Jones not to touch the box on the nightstand next to the bed. I also told her that it was important to you." The waitress glanced toward the door.

Even though Bryce had asked her to leave, Lily was still standing behind Bryce's door, trying to eavesdrop on what was happening.

Lily clenched her fists when she heard what the maid said, her face scowling in annoyance.

"Damn it! Why did she have to mention my name and say that the item was very important to Bryce? Is it because she knows I'm still here that she said this to Bryce? Is she trying to embarrass me?" Linda thought angrily, her breathing heavy.

Meanwhile, the waitress had deliberately said it because she was worried that she would be blamed. Of course, no one wanted to bear the consequences for a mistake they never made.

"No way! This waitress seems to be that stupid girl's ally! I have to make my position clear!" Lily thought to herself as she reappeared in Bryce's room.

"I threw the box away! That thing will only have a bad influence on you!" Finally, Lily admitted that she was the one who took the box and threw it away.

Upon hearing this, Bryce's gaze turned fierce. He stared at Lily in disbelief. "What did you say? You threw it away?"

Lily just nodded, but her face clearly showed an expression of satisfaction.

Bryce then stood up and approached Lily, grabbing her arms, "Where? Where did you throw it? Tell me quickly!"

Lily gasped, "Bryce, why are you looking for that thing again? You two are no longer husband and wife. You are divorced. Why keep unimportant memories? Besides, I am your future wife. When you did this, didn't you know it would hurt me? Don't you care about my feelings?"

As she said this, Lily's eyes filled with tears. Her acting was truly realistic. Acting weak and hurtful was her specialty.

"I'll ask you again! Where did you throw it away?" Bryce asked in an increasingly cold tone. For the first time, he didn't care about Lily's tears.

Unlike before, Bryce always panicked when he saw Lily cry. Bryce would always try hard to calm her down when she cried, but now her tears seemed to mean nothing compared to the old box Rossie had given her.

"Lily! Don't make me force you!" Bryce exclaimed again. His tone grew increasingly firm.
Lily was stunned. She was so shocked that she forgot to keep up her act and shouted. "In the trash can in front of your house! I threw it there!"

Bryce pushed Lily aside and ran towards the trash can in front of her house, not caring that it was still raining outside and getting her body wet again.

Bryce rolled up her sleeves to her elbows and looked for the box in the trash can. Bryce, who was usually clean, allowed himself to get dirty from the trash and might become a laughingstock to people passing by.

If someone had captured it and uploaded it to social media, maybe tomorrow there would be a news headline saying, "Johansen Group President rummages through trash in the rain!" or perhaps someone would say he was crazy.

"Bryce! Stop it! Look how dirty it is!" Lily shouted from Bryce's gate with a servant holding an umbrella for her.

"Dirty? Maybe the Johansen family doesn't know how many trash cans he rummaged through when he was seven.

As the son of a woman who had been evicted, he and his mother had to survive by selling recycled goods.

Bryce grew up in a slum. He was so familiar with that environment that he didn't think there was anything wrong with it.

"Ah, finally!" Bryce exclaimed when he found the gift box. Even though it was slightly dented, it made him smile.

The servant ran over with an umbrella to protect him from the rain. He couldn't resist the urge to open the box. Almost instantly, his eyes turned red, and his expression turned gloomy.

The once neat and clean suit had been cut into pieces. Immediately, he turned his gaze to Lily, who backed away in fear. His sharp gaze made her breathless.

Without saying a word, he walked past her carrying the box.

Lily felt uncomfortable, but she had to say it. "Bryce, are you in love with Rossie? Do you regret divorcing her?"

"No." His chest rose and fell with waves of emotion.

"But you're sad, and you seem angry with me. Are you angry because I threw away Rossie's gift? I couldn't stand seeing that thing in your room.

It always reminded me of your absence these past three years. "

" Didn't you think about my feelings when you saw you marrying Rossie? "

" What can I do to make you stop thinking about it?" Lily almost cried again.

But Bryce still didn't care, sighing. "I divorced her and decided to marry you. Even though Grandma was against it, I still accepted it.

" But you went too far by destroying her things and cutting up the clothes she made. You even spread rumors that she was a home wrecker. Everyone criticized her.

"She's no longer part of my life. But it seems like you can't let go of her. Enough, Lily!"

His words stunned Lily. The truth made her shiver.

Lily realized that Bryce knew the truth.

"Bryce... Do you think I did it because I hated her? I did it because I love you."

His anger softened, but he kept his distance. "If you're having trouble, you can come to me. I'm willing to help, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. But I don't like the way you manipulate situations in the name of love, especially when it involves people I care about. You announced our marriage to save your family business. I hope this is the last time."

Bryce left without looking back, leaving Lily angry. At that moment, all she wanted was to get rid of Rossie once and for all.

"Miss Rossie, Becca called me and said that Bryce seems to be suspicious of her!" Darren exclaimed.
But Rossie wasn't too surprised by this.

"Oh, so he figured it out that quickly, but how? I'm curious," Rossie tapped her finger under her chin and nodded.

"After dealing with the Jones Group, our next target is the Johansen Group. Since Mr. Bryce has challenged us, I won't hesitate to take him on," Rossie muttered with a smile.
