Chapter 14 A Mess
Rossie glanced at Darren, and he knew what he had to do. Darren opened the door and saw Rouland Kent walk straight into his office.
Rossie frowned at the man. "What are you doing here, Mr. Kent? I've already approved your resignation. You're free to look for work elsewhere."
"This is unfair, Mrs. Rossie! I've been working at this company for almost two decades! I've given everything to this job and even gotten sick because of it. Even Mr. Cavendish wouldn't do this to me. How can you just fire me like this?" Rouland began to sweat profusely as he yelled at her, his face red.
"I have read the details from the executives at the company. You do suffer from fatty liver disease and gallbladder polyps, and being in the Nexus group is really beneficial." Rossie's smile looked cold.
Rouland trembled as he caught the sarcasm in her words. "I didn't know that... that JHome was selling low-quality furniture to our company! We've been working with them for three years, and the prices are reasonable. They also have a big name in this city, that's why I..."
Rossie just smiled thinly and placed the documents right in front of Rouland before he finished his sentence. "These are the details of every transaction with JHome in the last three years. Couldn't you see that the financial reports from the finance department you oversee were flawed?"
Rouland, fearfully and nervously, took the documents in front of him and checked everything. The pages in his hands felt like burning coals!
"I also received anonymous tips." Rossie sipped her coffee casually, her eyes sparkling like cold steel. "A little bird told me that you and JHome have a close relationship. That's how you got all these huge discounts and why you bought their poor-quality furniture in bulk." Rossie was still trembling after saying this.
"Of course, I won't fire anyone without evidence. But I won't show mercy when I do. I have the evidence in my hands. If you still have objections, Mr. Kent, please take legal action."
"I'm sorry, Miss Rossie! I made a mistake! Please... Please give me a chance! If this is exposed, I won't be able to make a living in Aether City! "Rouland was scared half to death and immediately knelt down.
" JHiome approached me and told me how to get rich. It was Mr. Jones' idea! I thought the furniture was quite similar. I wasn't thinking clearly and fell into his trap!"
'Huh! Ridiculous!' thought Rossie. He was a vice president who had been in the property industry for two decades, but he pretended to be stupid just to protect himself.
"Enough, Mr. Kent. I'm sure you know what happened. If you have time to come here with your nonsense, you'd better leave and consider applying elsewhere. Mr. Wayne, please call security and escort him out!"
Two security guards forcibly escorted Rouland out.
"Damn it! Just you wait. I won't let this go!" he hissed once he was outside the office.
Although Rossie was a generous person, he was angry that someone was lining their pockets with company money. It made his blood boil with rage.
"It seems that Rouland has a pretty bad reputation in this company. Imagine having a whistleblower when you target him." Darren commented
.
"No one betrayed him."
"Huh? Does that mean... You tricked him?"
"I did," Rossie replied softly and opened the game to vent her anger. "There's nothing to fear if he didn't do anything wrong. It's his bad luck that I showed up."
Darren couldn't help but praise the woman. "Rouland and JHome have been working together for three years, and the corruption runs deep. We have to take him to court and make him return everything he took!"
"We still need to maintain good relations. It's better not to burn any bridges. The company's upper echelons won't be happy if I go too far. It wouldn't be surprising if someone tried to stab me in the back. My father was the one who promoted Rouland. I can't embarrass him too much, "he said casually as he slumped back in his chair.
" Have someone keep an eye on Rouland for now. Report to me immediately if he contacts Lily Jones' cousin again."
"Yes, Miss Roseane!"
At that moment, Rossie's cell phone started ringing continuously. A mountain of messages flooded a particular chat group.
Rossie snorted in annoyance and picked up her phone. She saw notifications popping up continuously in the family group.
Marcus was the first to send a message, "I can't take it anymore! Is Bryce trying to hurt our beloved sister? He's gone too far!"
Her eldest brother, Dominic, said, "I've been trying to find dirt on the Johansen Group. I'll bankrupt them within a month."
Her third brother, Ethan, interrupted, "I'll cripple Bryce within a week."
"Hey, what's going on? Why are you all so angry?" asked Rossie.
Marcus sent an Instagram link and said, "They've announced their marriage. A famous online figure claims you're a cheater who took what wasn't yours. They say you forced Bryce to marry you and caused a rift in an existing relationship!"
Ethan interrupted, "Hah. What rift? I should just reveal the truth.
Dominic replied, "Don't be rash, Ethan! Don't waste your time on them. Their revenge will come."
Ethan replied, "Dominic, this can't be ignored. Do you want our beloved sister to be humiliated like this?"
Marcus sent a message, "I'll make sure everything is deleted in less than half an hour!"
Rossie replied, "It's okay, Marcus. Just let them be."
Marcus and his two brothers were confused by Rossie's attitude.
"You're not kidding, Rossie. News like this will destroy your reputation. I can't let this happen to you!" Marcus wrote again.
"I agree with Marcus!" Ethan replied.
"Do what Rossie wants!" Dominic continued.
"DOMINIC!!!" Marcus seemed emotional.
Dominic then wrote a reply message. "Rossie must have her own reasons."
This time, Marcus sent another message to Rossie. "Explain your reasons!"
