Chapter 77 Ice Cream Date
Cara slid on her blouse, a shade of green, fitting tightly around her bust and small waist.
She pulled her pants up her slim legs and buttoned it properly around her waist.
"Don't forget your jacket babe." Romeo remained her as he dressed himself up properly.
She smiled and nodded her head. Throwing her jacket around her shoulders and sliding her arms through the arm holes, she was done dressing and ready to leave.
Romeo stopped by the door, his hand resting on the door knob. He sucked in air through his lips and turned back to face Cara. "Are you sure ice cream is really what you want to have for breakfast? You have thought deeply about it? I mean I don't mind, I can whip up something fast and delicious for you if you would like."
"Ice cream will do just fine." Cara responded with a soft smile. "It's not like I wouldn't enjoy a meal with you, I'm afraid of what might happen."
His emerald eyes sparkled as he squinted. "Happen?"
"Men look extra hot in an apron and I might not be able to hold myself when a handsome shirtless man is making me breakfast."
A smile tugged at his lips. "What makes you think I will be shirtless?"
"Because it's how it should be when a man uses an apron!" She stated firmly.
"What if I decided to be pantless instead? Or just fully naked?" His brow arched slightly.
"Oh my God, stop!" She felt her cheeks burning up as the image appeared in her head. He had been naked in front of her a while ago, it didn't take much imagination to put an apron around him.
Romeo chuckled at her reaction. He wrapped her in his arms and imprinted a kiss on her cheek. "You are so cute and sexy at the same time, I'm thinking maybe I should get some cream pie instead."
"Oh my God! Stop it, Romeo!" She exclaimed, trying to stop her cheek from mirroring her feelings.
They shared a lovely laugh as they walked out of her bedroom and out of the house, wrapped in each other's arms.
Ice cream had never tasted better to Cara, just sitting there with the man of her dreams. Romeo was having yogurt instead.
He needed a moment, a call had come in from work so he had to quickly address something from his phone. But all it took was two minutes tops.
"Sorry about that." He said with a soft sigh. "My weekends have always been the same as weekdays for me. Eventually, I have to go to work because the situation would require my presence. But I'm afraid this time around, they will have to find another solution because I am not leaving."
Her lips spread into a smile. "I know you are a busy man so if you need to go, I will not stop you."
"Stop being so understanding, Cara Smith."
She let out a chuckle in response.
Silence dominated once again as they both focused on their treats. Cara on her ice cream and Romeo, on her.
"Oh my goodness, isn't that Romeo Armani?" A feminine voice suddenly asked, a harsh whisper.
Cara looked to the side and saw a bunch of girls stealing glances and pictures of her man. They couldn't hide their excitement about seeing a handsome man as him and Romeo didn't seem phased by it either.
"What is wrong with those little squirrels?" Cara questioned with a slight frown on her face.
"Are they making you uncomfortable?" Romeo asked her. "Should we leave?"
She turned to look at him, surprised. "Oh I said that out loud?" She sighed. "Doesn't it bother you? I mean the oldest amongst those girls should be around eighteen years old."
"Do you have a crush?" He asked her, out of the blue, before taking a spoon of yoghurt.
She blinked, taken aback by his question. "What? A crush? I'm a grown up woman, I don't do crushes anymore."
Romeo let out a soft chuckle as he took a scoop of his yoghurt. "I have a crush." He confessed before taking the spoon to his lips.
Her face reddened with jealousy. "Oh yeah?" She crossed her arms below her breast. "Care to tell me who this crush of yours is?"
"You'll see her on our wedding day." He responded then focused on his yoghurt.
Cara felt her cheeks get even more red than it already was. Wedding day? Was he planning on marrying her? Did he love her that much?
Why was she suddenly feeling strange? In a good way though. Maybe. Was marriage on her mind though? She had never stopped to think if Romeo would ever consider settling down with a woman like her. Did he mean it?
"Why do you look so flustered?" His thick brow arched swiftly as he asked her.
She blinked. "Huh?" Romeo's voice had drawn her from her thoughts. "Oh no nothing, it's nothing. I just didn't... it's nothing." She responded with a smile.
His brow arched, her silence piqued his curiosity but he didn't press further, not wanting to upset her.
He simply said; "Your ice cream is melting." He pointed at her cup with his spoon.
She nodded with a smile and focused on her treat, letting the cold ice soothe her rising tension and anxiety.
She didn't know why she was suddenly feeling so nervous and tense. She knew inside of her that she liked Romeo. A lot. But was it not clear enough to her?
'It's not like he is asking you to marry him right away! Calm your nerves woman!' She scolded herself on the inside.
Yet even though she kept telling herself that, her mind refused to calm and a nervous bead of sweat rolled down her neck.
Thinking about it now, she would love to spend all eternity with Romeo, he was a man and more. In fact, she didn't deserve him.
Maybe that was why she was feeling so anxious about the idea of getting married to him.
