Chapter 57 57
"They want us to go out for their birthday." She said, folding one of her hands against her chest as she rested her back on the window, her phone in her other hand.
"Together?"
"Of course. I don't make a family alone." She muttered.
"Are you fine with that or-"
"Even if I'm not fine with that, I want to do it for my kids." She furrowed her brows, "Are you looking for an opportunity to be absent?" She asked.
"No. Of course not." He paused, "I'm just so excited. I can't believe we are going on a full family date. "
"Are you a kid or what?" She scoffed, "It's on a Friday anyway, so-"
"Why don't we go on a vacation? We can travel somewhere as a family and then-"
"Don't push your luck, Liam." She warned and he stopped.
"Alright, then. See you." She ended the call without replying back and she held the phone tight in her hands, releasing a breath. She was going crazy.
Her phone rang again and it was Liam, she picked.
"Did you really agree to the fashion show?" He asked.
"I'm pretty sure you heard."
"I wanted to confirm from you. You can't change your mind, you know that?" He asked and she scoffed.
"Of course, I know. They are not giving us a chance to work separately and I'm interested in it. I won't leave just because you are part of the project. You can leave if you want." She shrugged.
"I can't leave too. I have to recover all the money I lost." He said and she twitched her lips.
"Good luck doing that. " She said and ended the call again, this time, throwing the phone on her bed, a small smile set on her beautiful lips.
"Aarghghhhhhhhhh!!" Stella screamed angrily as she banged on the table several times.
"Dad, how could you watch them sideline us this way just because of that witch and her Vixen company?" She shot.
"Stella, you should know how to calm down. Getting worked up won't solve anything. We have been the one running up for it for the past few years and there's nothing bad with a change." Her father replied.
"How can you say that? She'd been causing havoc to our family!"
"That was because you crossed her first!" Her father snapped, "I warned you and your brother not to threaten Liam into leaving his wife but you wouldn't listen. Was Liam the one who asked you to get married abroad? And now you came back trying to claim rights? Do you think that girl would just sit still knowing everything you have done?" He shot in anger.
"Dad, you are supposed to be on my side."
"I cannot be on your side, Cassidy. Not until you and your brother stop those darks things you put your hands in." He shot.
"Sam doesn't do that anymore." Stella replied with a huff.
"Well, you are going to make him with your growing obsession for destroying that girl. But before that happens, I'll make sure to cut off your wings." With that, he left the room angrily and Stella gritted her teeth.
"Fine. If you and Sam aren't going to help. I'll find someone else who is interested. And I'm going to destroy her bit by bit. If things goes north, I'll kill her." She smirked.
"You should leave her alone, Stella." Sam walked in after hearing her speak.
"What? So you are not going to help me, is that it? You should show where you stand. Do you even still love me?"
"Of course I do. You are my sister. But there's a girl I'm interested in, Stella and that girl is Alexa's best friend."
"Cassidy?" Stella asked.
"Hmm." He grunted in approval and her face turned red.
"How can you fall for Cassidy knowing she's Alexa's best friend?" She shot.
"I can fall for anyone I like. You can't do anything about that. I might have helped you with Alexa but whatever happens to Alexa would affect Cassidy. So I need you to stay put."
"No. You lie." She shot, trying to walk past him but he held her arm tightly, forcing her to look at him.
"If Liam wanted you, five years is more than enough." He said and Stella gritted her teeth.
"Not when there are external factors. I should be the only one he looks at." She hissed.
"You can't force a man's heart just so you know. If he would love you, he would love you." He said.
"If he loved me before, he can love me again."
"Then maybe he never loved you before. If he did, we wouldn't have had to force him, would we? There'd be no use for all that threatening, would there?"
"You need encouragement sometimes. You of all people said that years back. What? Are you chickening out now? Your heart has become so soft so you aren't what you used to be? Or dad's words are getting to you now?" She poked his chest with her finger but he didn't move.
"You bore me." She hissed and pulled her hand away, walking off.
Sam pinched the middle space between his brows as he let out a sigh.
"Stop being stubborn, Stella." He muttered.
"Today, Mr Jordans is coming over to look at the designs for the runway." Doreen informed Alexandra the moment they got out from the elevator. Alexandra folded her hands over her body, her bag in one of them.
"We aren't done with the designs yet, are we? I haven't even looked over them." She said, glaring at Doreen.
Doreen pursed her lips, "He wants to be involved in all of the process."
"Oc course not, the only process he should be involved in is watching his models walk down the path. I won't let him interfere in my business."
Doreen sighed, "Don't you get it, boss? He is just looking for a way to get closer to you with this." Doreen said and Alexandra stopped walking when they got to her office door.
"What do you know about love, Doreen?" Alexandra turned to her, raising her brow.
"You belittle me, boss." Doreen said seriously and Alexandra narrowed her eyes.
"Oh really?"
