Chapter 24 Twenty four
"Mom!" Alexa shot her mom and angry look but Louisa ignored her, going to sit opposite Liam.
"I'm not having dinner, " Alexandra said as she started going back upstairs.
"So you are not interested in my food, is that what you are trying to say, Alexa? I'm not that important to you anymore."
"Emotional blackmail is not going to work this time. Either Liam leaves or I leave." She said and went upstairs, leaving Liam and her mom down.
"She hates you a lot," Louisa said as she dished her food and then she stared at Liam, "I don't like you either. You weren't supposed to cheat on my daughter, knowing how much effort she put into your marriage. You had the effrontery to go back to your ex girlfriend who broke your heart and you gave her the heart my daughter fixed. It's hard for you to win Alexa back. Even I don't want that, buy I would not deny you or the kids the opportunity of being together. I just hope you dong leave them like you did before."
"I had no idea-"
"If you were kind to their mother z she would have told you. You gave her a deadline to sign the divorce papers, are you regretting your decision now only because you found out that you have kids?"
"I have regretted it from the day she left."
"Then why did you do it in the first place?" Louisa asked unbelievably as she shook her head, "You must go home now. It's getting late and I don't want Alexa to be annoyed than she already is."
Liam opened his mouth to say something but no words came out of them, so he stood up instead and walked out of the house, getting into his car.
Alexa looked down at him from her window as he drove out and she scoffed lightly.

"Good morning, boss." Doreen greeted enthusiastically the moment Alexa walked in,
"Are they here already?" Alexa smiled and Doreen nodded.
"I'm so happy you accepted their deal. It'll be a great thing for our company. Before you know it, boss, we'll be among the top five and you'll be recognized all over the world." Doreen said excitedly and Alexa nodded as she took the files from the table.
And that's greater than Liam's company. She said in her mind as she passed the documents to Doreen.
"The business awards day is next month. If you can make it to be one of the five best on the news with this collaboration, I'm sure you would win best CEO of the year." Doreen said.
"How many people has won it before?" Alexa asked as she walked out of her office, going down to the meeting room.
"Just five ma. Ryder Welland, Liam Jordans, Coker Hills and two other people."
"Coker Hills is the CEO of SH Apparels right?" Alexa asked and Doreen nodded.
"The father to Stella," She added.
"What a theif." Alexa scowled as she sighed.
"Liam Jordans has been the best CEO for five years in a row now." Doreen said and Alexa halted.
"Five years?" She asked. Doreen nodded and she scoffed. For the five years she had been away, he had really been making a name for himself. He must think he would still get it this year but unfortunately, that was in her agenda already. She was going to snatch it from him.
"Good for him." Alexa said as the door to the meeting room opened and she stepped in with a pretty smile on her face. Ryder stood up immediately going towards her as he gave her a French kiss which was totally inappropriate.
Alexa gave a nervous chuckle as she took her seat with two directors by her side, while Ryder took his with also two escorts.
"I have read through your proposal and gon through it with my directors and designers and this is a work we can take on. We'll be your hope for the Fashion show."
"That'll be fantabulous, Ale..Miss Chapman. I really hope you would do a great work." He said.
"Well, if you'd sign the papers." She smiled and handed over the contract to him. Ryder read through and nodded his head slowly before he sighed. Alexa also did the same and they exchanged the copies.
"Pleasure working with you, Mr Welland." She stretched out her hand and he accepted it with both of his, a large smile on his face as he said,
"Thank you, Miss Chapman."

"Can't believe this is signed already. Gosh, my dreams..." Doreen hugged the file to her chest as they both walked to the elevator.
"I'm also ex-"
"Miss Chapman." Ryder's voice interrupted her and she halted, turning back.
"Mr Welland."
"Ryder." He corrected, "Can't we just forgo all these pleasantries and formal conversations?" He asked and Alexa smiled.
"What did you expect, we are business partners." She replied.
"No, we met somewhere else before meeting at the office, so I would consider us friends...for now." He said and she raised her brows slightly as she nodded slowly.
"So you promised to eat with me sometime. What do you say about dinner tonight?" He asked and Alexa bit her lips.
"If I say no, it wouldn't affect our business,.would it?" She asked and Ryder laughed.
"It wouldn't. But my heart would be affected." He said, hitting his chest lightly. Alexa laughed as the shade of red crept up to her cheeks.
"Fine then. Dinner tonight." She agreed.
"I'm....so excited." Ryder bit his lips as he smiled, before walking out of the company.
"Wow, dinner?" Doreen asked and Alexa's face was quickly replaced with a serious look.
"He's just infatuated for a while. Very soon, he'll forget all about it." Alexandra sighed as she got into the elevator and Doreen raised her brow.
"Because you have tow lovely kids?" She asked and scoffed, "Anyone who doesn't see Jace and Jade as a gem to be treasured has bad eyes. Too bad for them. And besides, Mr Ryder doesn't look like that."
"You don't know what he's like."
