Chapter 65: Not Worth It

Sophia arrived at Misty Harbor and didn't go to the hotel. She hurriedly went to the gym with her luggage.

This intelligent car launch conference was very grand and was held at the gym.

The venue, which had been set up last week, was Sophia's task for today - to confirm that the venue setup was error-free.

Although there were many professionals at the venue, she had to confirm this for herself so that she could feel at ease.

When she arrived at the venue, it was already afternoon.

She didn't even have time to eat lunch and started busy right away.

Because Sophia was responsible for organizing this press conference, many people at the venue knew her and had a particularly good impression of her. Everyone worked together and cooperated well.

By the time everything at the venue was arranged according to the rendering, it was already after eight in the evening.

No one had eaten dinner, so they asked Sophia to have dinner with them.

Sophia must not have slept much last night, and her body had not fully recovered, so she felt particularly tired. So, she grabbed her suitcase and took a taxi back to the hotel by herself.

Back at the hotel, she felt completely exhausted.

She felt like she was running a fever again, so she took Linda's prepared thermometer and took her temperature. Sure enough, her temperature had gone up to 99.6℉.

She couldn't even remember whether she had eaten lunch or dinner. She pulled out some medicine, grabbed a bottle of water, and took the medicine. Then she collapsed onto the bed and fell into an exhausted sleep.

She didn't know how long she had been sleeping when suddenly she felt a burning sensation in her lower abdomen.

At first, Sophia didn't pay attention, but gradually, the burning sensation became stronger.

She had a weak stomach and couldn't eat spicy food.

It suddenly dawned on her that she hadn't eaten anything all day, and she had suddenly swallowed fever-reducing medicine. Surely, it was a stomach problem.

The burning sensation was getting more and more intense, so Sophia called the hotel room service to order some food.

But customer service told her that the hotel's chef had already clocked out because it was too late.

Sophia looked at the time and realized that it was already midnight.

She hung up the phone and prepared to order takeout.

However, at this hour, the takeout would take at least half an hour to arrive at the hotel.

Her stomach was getting increasingly uncomfortable, so she had no choice but to force herself out of bed, clutching her stomach. She was getting ready to go out and eat.

She saw that a restaurant was 656 feet away from the hotel, but she needed to find out if it was still open.

She pressed down on her stomach with all her might and struggled to leave the room.

However, as soon as she stepped out of the room, she felt weak and collapsed onto the ground.

In the neighboring room, Raymond had just returned and was standing by the window answering a phone call.

When he heard the faint sound of a door closing outside, his narrow eyebrows furrowed slightly. He immediately turned around and went out to see what was happening.

According to logic, Sophia should have already been asleep.

The door suddenly shook, and he didn't know what she wanted to do.

When he opened the door, he saw the familiar figure curled up on the ground. Raymond's deep gaze suddenly tightened, and he immediately ended the call and hurried over.

At that moment, Sophia's stomach felt like it had a spiraling blade stirring inside, causing her to spasm in pain. Cold sweat kept pouring out, and something kept surging up, making her want to vomit, but nothing came out.

The pain she was experiencing was unlike anything she had ever felt before, possibly worse than death.

Just when Sophia thought she would die in this place where no one knew, two strong arms reached out and suddenly lifted her.

Sophia was startled and looked up. Instantly, when she saw that all-too-familiar handsome face, she thought she was hallucinating.

Involuntarily, she reached out to lightly stroke that exquisitely chiseled face and murmured, "Scott."

Was she dying? That's why Scott Johnson's figure appeared before her.

Raymond, looking down at the sweating and unconscious Sophia in his arms, couldn't help but darken his face. Annoyed, he said, "Sophia, look carefully. I am Raymond."

Raymond.

Like a thunderbolt, it finally woke Sophia up.

In the next second, she withdrew her hand, painfully closed her eyes, and struggled to say three words, "Let me go."

"You're planning to die and not even acknowledge me?" Raymond, looking at Sophia in his arms, became even more annoyed. "But I can't do it! So, Sophia, it's better for you to accept everything calmly, or else Johnson Household madam will turn into ashes."

At that moment, Sophia suddenly laughed.

Yes, because of Raymond, she would be risking her life, which wasn't worth it.

Molly had repeatedly reminded her to stay alive. In this world, nothing was more important than one's body and life.

"Raymond, my stomach feels so bad. I haven't eaten anything all day." Sophia gripped Raymond's suit jacket with force. "I want to eat."

"Okay, hang in there. We'll go soon."

Raymond said as he carried her toward the elevator entrance and dialed Nelson's number.
