Chapter 67

Chapter 67
Arwin

'Omg is that Owen with Ruby.' I accidentally hear someone's thoughts as Ruby and I take our seats around the Alpha and Luna. I turn to look at the lady sitting right next to Ruby. How does she know my name? Is she really talking about me? Maybe it's some other Owen.

She must be Ruby’s friend because they keep whispering to each other as they smile.

What's going on?

'Why is Ruby so casual with him though, she keeps looking at him.' I hear her thoughts again. This time I decide to just listen in fully ignoring the ceremony, it doesn't concern me, though. I'm just here for Ruby.

'Did they remember each other?' Remember Ruby? I turn to look at her and marvel at how attractive she is looking under the moonlight. Did I really know her? If so, how did I forget her? I get a hold of myself as I concentrate on the lady's thoughts, though my heart is thumping so hard and my eyes are just on Ruby. All the exhaustion I felt is all gone.

'Do they really know if they are mates?' Mates? Ruby and me? Not possible she must be thinking about other people, there is no way I can't recognize my mate. I smirk, well, since the ceremony is boring I might as well continue eavesdropping. What's the harm in that? All this while I try so hard to stay out of Ruby's thoughts, she doesn't like it. It's the first time that I've listened to someone without question. It's so hard but I have to do it, something in me pushes me to always make her happy.

'I don't think they know though, but how on earth did they meet again. Is it the bond, but it was severed, I made sure of that? What's the reason, or maybe it's Owens look alike? That must be the explanation.' She continues, I feel her gaze on my face. She definitely is talking about me, but how come all the things she is saying make no sense.

“Are you enjoying yourself, Arwin.” Ruby whispers, smiling so widely, her smile is so warm that my heart aches. Can it be true that I forgot her? I feel hot tears stinging my eyes, and rage boiling inside me. I hold myself with all my might because I don't want to ruin the ceremony.

“Yes I am Ruby.” I answer smiling. She then continues to concentrate.

'What if Möbius finds out about this? Oh! No!' By the mention of Möbius, my body freezes. My fist clench as a tear escapes my eyes. I swallow hard as I look at Ruby with different eyes. What happened, is she my mate?

'I can't let that happen, I can't let Möbius have Ruby, no way I want him all to myself, so I will do all I can to make sure he doesn't find out. As for these two, they don't remember each other and there is no bond between them so it doesn't matter whether they are together or not. I am the only person who remembers everything apart from Möbius, so our secret is safe.' She takes a deep sigh.

'Why do things go well for Ruby always though, how did she meet Owen again. Möbius did all he could to separate them so how did they meet. Oh I hate her.' She pauses and glares at Ruby. 'I hate her so much, I feel like strangling and finishing her off.' I hear her clenching her teeth as she smiles at Ruby. Oh! no Ruby is really in danger. I'm holding myself so much right now, If I pounce on her, she is dead, but that will mean that I will lose her again. My Ruby, is she really mine? Another tear escapes my eyes. How weak was I that she was erased from my mind.

'I will never let her be happy, for making my brother suffer like that in the past she will pay.' She continues.

'I'm worrying myself for nothing and everything always works according to my plans. Calm down Zama, all is well. All I want to do right now is to get someone to fk my brains out , who will I do it with, mmmmmh...' her thoughts change? I'm left dumbfounded and unable to move. Ruby, my mate, mine.

Why does it feel like a dream? Is that why I got attracted to her the moment I saw her? Is that why I melted when we kissed, is that why I want to make her smile always? Is that why I can't stay away from her? I have so many questions.

What happened to us? What did my darn brother do to us and what was the reason? He has been like this ever since we were kids ages ago, she always takes what belongs to me.

The ceremony ends, but I'm left in daze. She was my mate, and I forgot about her, how. How could I forget my own mate, the person I've looked for in all these years? I take her hand after everyone has departed. I don't even want to let go of her again. What if something happens again, and I lose her, what if it's for good this time. Should I tell her about all this? Of course, she wouldn't believe me, what I have to do is to get to the bottom of this.

I need to remember everything about her, I need to recall our moments together.

"Arwin you look lost are you okay." She asks in a concerned tone.

"I have something to tell you Ruby." I say. I need to tell her everything about me, I don't want any misunderstanding in the future. Whatever made us be separated, I'm going to deal with it this time, I don't care who was involved, every single one of them will have to pay dearly for what they did. All I have to be now is patient.

"Before that can you have this please." She takes a canned energy drink from her purse and hands it to me. "I noticed you looked so tired earlier so I got you this." She smiles.

"Thank you." I still can't believe she is my own mate.

"Follow me, I know a comfortable place we can sit and talk." She adds leading the way.
