Chapter 13
"Is he crazy? What kind of contract is this?" Rosalie mumbled before moving on to the next line.
"You'll start the training as soon as you move in with me."
"You will no longer be a stripper for my customers..." it stated in the contract, and Rosalie hadn't read any further when she exhaled in relief.
"Thank goodness, I won't have to strip anymore. But how will I pay him back?" Rosalie mumbled, feeling confused as she began to read the rest of the contract.
"You'll be stripping exclusively for me." Rosalie's eyes widened in shock as she read that.
"What the hell is this?!" she gasped.
"Am I really expected to take off my clothes in front of him? No..." Rosalie shook her head vehemently.
"No, I can't do that. I can't live with him and also strip for him; my dignity would be ruined."
Rosalie moved on to the next words. "Apart from paying your debt, you'll also be receiving a salary from me," she read and that caught her interest as her eyes moved to the signature.
"I've already signed it, so I have no other choice," Rosalie mumbled before letting the paper drop to the floor.
"What should I do?" she asked herself, unsure of what to choose.
Allowing Rebecca and Carter to suffer or work while taking care of them, even after Rebecca recovers and returns home.
After a few moments of contemplation, she finally reached a decision.
"I'll do as the contract states because I need the money-nothing else," Rosalie mumbled, nodding to her words. "I'll only be stripping for him, nothing more."
"After I pay off the debt, I'll start my life anew, and my future prince charming will never know I ever stripped since I'll only be stripping for him," she mumbled with a smile.
Rosalie picked up the contract again, noticing something faintly written on the back. As she read it, her expression shifted.
"Get ready tonight; the guards will pick you up."
"He even gave me a deadline," Rosalie muttered, frustration creeping into her voice as she got off the bed.
If he hadn't mentioned that he would be paying her extra, she wouldn't have accepted, even though she knew he wouldn't let it go since she had already signed the contract.
All she wanted was money to take care of her brother, herself, and her mother when she woke up.
As it was night already, Rosalie began packing her things.
___
Godfather was in his chamber when Kai knocked on the door.
"Come in," Godfather said, and Kai entered, carrying a stack of files in his hands.
"What are those for?" Godfather asked as Kai placed them in front of him.
"You know, I just started a company, and I was hoping it would get recognized soon. I brought this file so you can help me check it out and see if I'm doing well," Kai said with a smile, hoping for some praise from godfather but Instead, he received the opposite.
Kai always dreamed of surpassing Cameron, believing that if he did, the Godfather would be more inclined to hand over his Mafia clan to him and...
The godfather would see him as the ideal son and hand over the clan to him, which is why he started his own company.
The godfather chuckled, looking at Kai as if he were foolish. "It's not in your blood to grow bigger. I've always told you that. You don't need to stress yourself trying to do this, and besides..."
"If you want to start a business, you need to be smart, but you're not. Just keep doing what I want, and you'll not have a problem, and you won't have to be stressing yourself out..." the Godfather continued, his words igniting Kia's anger.
"I'm already old. Your brother will take over the clan soon, and he'll need you around just like you're doing for me," the Godfather added, provoking Kai's anger even further.
"Are you kidding me, Father? I've been by your side all years, hoping for your favor, but all you see is Cameron, even though he hates you and wants nothing to do with you!" Kai shouted angrily.
"You should keep your voice down. I'm old, and I don't want any noise around me," the Godfather replied. But Kai couldn't keep his cool.
"I brought my file to show you how far I've come in such a short time, but all you can do is downgrade me..."
"Why didn't you give me the Clan when I needed it? Cameron didn't need it! Why do you have to show favoritism?" Kai yelled again, frustration boiling over. In response, the Godfather picked up his gun from the table and pointed it at him.
Kai's eyes widened in shock; it was the first time Godfather had pointed a gun at him.
"I told you to stop shouting! I hate your noise. As much as I like you, don't be deceived-Cameron is my favorite son, and I see right through you. Your destiny is to follow orders, not the other way around," Godfather yelled angrily.
Tears began to roll down Kai's face, and without saying another word, he stormed out of the chamber, overwhelmed with sadness.
Godfather scoffed. "He's such a fool"
___
Rosalie had just finished packing her things and was ready to leave when Athena rushed into the room.
"Oh my goodness, Rose!" Athena exclaimed joyfully as she hurried to hug Rosalie tightly.
"I was so worried about you! I thought something terrible had happened. I couldn't eat or sleep for days after hearing your screams on the phone. I'm so relieved to see you're okay," Athena said, still holding her close.
"It's fine, Athena; you're already suffocating me," Rosalie mumbled, pretending to take a heavy breath. Athena released her and playfully slapped Rosalie lightly on the arm.
"You're silly, but I miss you anyway. Please don't get kidnapped again."
"I miss you too, and don't worry-I won't get kidnapped again because it was terrifying," Rosalie replied.
"Rose, please explain everything to me. How did it happen? Did the kidnapper hurt you? Was he caught? The boss is the one who saved you, right?" Athena asked, her curiosity evident in her expression. Rosalie placed her hands on Athena's shoulders.
"Relax, Athena. I wish I could explain everything, but I'm leaving the house for a while," Rosalie said, causing Athena's eyes to widen in surprise.
"Where are you going and why? It'll be dangerous outside, and you'll be leaving me alone in this house. I thought we were best friends! You should have taken me with you if you wanted to leave," Athena said, starting to sniffle.
"Athena, stop. I said it's just for the meantime, not for good. I have my reasons for leaving, and I need to do this," she replied.
"What reason? What reason could you possibly have for leaving your best friend of so many years all alone?" Athena asked, sniffling again.
"Ugh, you're really hard to handle, but I'll explain everything," Rosalie sighed before continuing.
"I borrowed money from Cameron for my mother's surgery, and I need to pay it back," Rosalie said. Athena gasped as Rosalie began to explain the situation further.
"Do you really consider me your friend? Mrs. Rebecca is in critical condition, and you can't even inform me and go through all of this by yourself," Athena mumbled sadly after Rosalie finished explaining.
"I'm sorry, but I'm too sad to think about that by then," Rosalie replied, and Athena finally managed to smile.
"So you'll be moving in with the boss! Congratulations! You're so lucky, Rose!" Athena exclaimed, jumping happily for Rosalie.
"What's so great about that? I'm unhappy, and I just hope I won't regret the decision I've made," Rosalie said.
"There's nothing to regret, Rose. Besides, getting paid-even though you owe him money-is good news. You'll only be stripping for him; many girls want that, and I can't deny I'm one of them..."
"Because the boss is so handsome and manly," Athena added excitedly, but Rosalie just rolled her eyes.
"The guards might be waiting for you outside already. Let's go," Athena said, helping Rosalie with her luggage.
"Are you really that happy to see me go? I thought you were sad just a moment ago," Rosalie mumbled, grabbing the rest of her luggage before following Athena outside.
"I'm happy because you're going to the boss's house-it's a dream come true for other people! I'd be sad if you were leaving for somewhere else," Athena replied, a hint of excitement in her voice.
Rosalie scoffed; it wasn't like I was going there for anything special-just to strip for him.
When they got outside, Rosalie saw the two guards from the hospital waiting for her.
They loaded her luggage into the car.
"Get in, Rose," Athena said, giving Rosalie a gentle push toward the car.
"Relax, Athena," Rosalie mumbled as she climbed into the car.
"Goodbye, Rose! Don't forget about me when the boss starts giving you all that money!" Athena shouted, waving her hands as the car pulled away.
Rosalie waved back until the car was out of sight.
The ride to Cameron's mansion took three hours, and as soon as Rosalie stepped out of the car, she was taken aback. The house looked nothing like the one he had taken her to when he saved her from the killer; this one was much larger.
"Is this another one of his houses? Wow, he's so rich," Rosalie mumbled, gazing in awe at the beauty of the mansion as she walked in, her luggage in both hands but...
As soon as she stepped inside, her eyes widened at the sight that greeted her.
