Chapter 158

Chapter 158

Lucinda clearly had no idea what he was thinking. She dusted off her hands and turned to look at him. "What are you standing there for? Let's go."

Reginald looked at her. After a moment, he smiled softly. "Coming."

Then he stepped forward and followed her out.

Lucinda walked out first. The air outside rushed in, carrying the scent of gunpowder and blood.

Black Wolf Crew headquarters had already descended into chaos. Traces of battle were everywhere.

Just then, a slender figure suddenly rushed over from the distance, her voice filled with obvious relief. "Master!"

Lucinda's steps paused. The next second, a young girl had already thrown herself in front of her. It was Niamh, who had just escaped.

Seeing Lucinda safe and sound, Niamh's anxious heart finally settled.

Earlier, she'd been preparing to head to the Origin Oath Crew base as Lucinda had instructed. But halfway there, she'd run into Origin Oath Crew members who'd come to provide backup. From them, she'd learned that Lucinda was still at Black Wolf Crew headquarters.

Niamh had panicked on the spot. Without a second thought, she'd turned around and run back. The Origin Oath Crew members couldn't stop her no matter how hard they tried.

Now, seeing Lucinda unharmed, her eyes reddened. "Master, you scared me to death. I thought…"

Lucinda reached out and ruffled her hair, her movements unusually gentle. "Didn't I tell you to leave first?"

Niamh stood her ground confidently. "But you were still here. I couldn't just leave you behind and run off by myself, could I?"

Lucinda smiled faintly.

This girl hadn't changed one bit.

Just then, a familiar voice suddenly came from the distance. "Niamh—"

Hearing that familiar voice, Niamh's body instantly froze. The smile on her face visibly stiffened.

No way.

It couldn't be him, could it?

The next second, another voice faintly echoed. "Mr. Lancaster, she should be nearby."

Niamh fell silent.

It was over. It really was her brother.

Her face changed immediately.

If Reginald found out she'd come to Sylvanor and had dared to deal with Black Wolf Crew alone for so long, she was definitely in for a scolding.

At that thought, Niamh shuddered.

No! She couldn't get caught. Absolutely not!

She immediately took a step back.

Lucinda raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong?"

Niamh looked guilty. "Um… Master, I just remembered I have something to do."

Lucinda raised an eyebrow.

Niamh was already backing away, muttering to herself as she retreated. "Something really important! Super important! I'm leaving first!"

A smile flickered in Lucinda's eyes. She'd already guessed the reason.

Sure enough, the next second, Niamh waved while running. "Master, I'll come find you when I'm free! Remember to miss me—!"

Her voice grew fainter and fainter. In the blink of an eye, she was gone.

Lucinda was silent.

That girl sure could run fast.

At the same time, Reginald finally emerged from the underground passage.

The moment he came out, he immediately scanned the area.

But after looking around for a while, he couldn't spot his sister anywhere. Instead, he saw Lucinda standing there with a faint smile on her lips.

Reginald walked over immediately. "She was here?"

Lucinda nodded. "She was."

Reginald narrowed his eyes. "Where is she now?"

Lucinda's lips curved slightly. "She came back to rescue us originally. But just now, she suddenly said she had something to do. Then she ran off."

Reginald was silent.

He stayed quiet for two seconds, then let out a cold snort. "What 'something to do'? She just doesn't want to go back with me."

Lucinda finally couldn't hold back a laugh. The night wind lifted the strands of hair by her forehead. Her beautiful eyes curved into crescents. "She's got a mind of her own."

Reginald sighed helplessly. "She's got too much of a mind of her own. It's dangerous out here, but her courage just keeps growing."

Lucinda looked at him and patted his shoulder. "Relax. She's smarter than you think. Most people can't handle her."

She paused, a glint of admiration flashing in her eyes. "This time, Black Wolf Crew spent so long going after her, and they still couldn't do anything to her, right?"

Reginald fell silent at that.

Thinking of his mischievous little sister, he could only shake his head with a wry smile.

True. That girl had never been easy to bully.

In the end, he was just an overprotective older brother.

Just then, Reginald suddenly reached out and took hold of Lucinda's wrist.

Lucinda froze slightly. "What are you doing?"

Reginald's expression was natural. "Come with me."

Lucinda instinctively tried to pull her hand back, but he held on firmly, showing no sign of letting go.

She glared at him. Reginald acted as if he hadn't seen it, his face completely serious. "Don't move. There are too many people around."

Lucinda was silent.

What kind of excuse was that?

Still, glancing at the crowd coming and going around them, she ultimately didn't bother arguing with him. She let him hold her hand as the two of them walked side by side toward the main base.

By now, the entire Black Wolf Crew headquarters had been completely taken over.

Dusk Reign Crew members had cleaned out all remaining resistance forces. In the center of the hall, the space was packed—Dusk Reign Crew members, Origin Oath Crew members, and scouts sent by various nearby factions. Everyone was waiting for the outcome.

When Reginald appeared holding Lucinda's hand, the scene suddenly fell silent. Countless eyes turned toward them.

No one had expected Black Wolf Crew to be wiped out in a single night!

Reginald stepped onto the platform. His gaze swept across the crowd. The previously noisy hall instantly quieted. Everyone instinctively straightened.

He surveyed the room and spoke slowly, his voice low and commanding. "Starting today, Black Wolf Crew is officially removed from Sylvanor. Black Wolf Crew's former territories will be jointly managed by Dusk Reign Crew and Origin Oath Crew."

As his words fell, a deafening "roar" erupted. The entire hall exploded.

Black Wolf Crew… had really been wiped out in one night?

But it wasn't over yet. Reginald turned to look at Lucinda beside him. Then, under countless shocked gazes, he announced, "Effective immediately, Dusk Reign Crew and Origin Oath Crew are officially allied. We are one."

As his words fell, the scene went silent for a moment.

Then, thunderous applause erupted like a storm.

Sylvanor's sky had completely changed.

The era of three-way power balance was over.

Black Wolf Crew had fallen. Dusk Reign Crew and Origin Oath Crew had joined forces.

From now on, no one in Sylvanor could stand against them.

The news swept out like a hurricane. Within an hour, all of Sylvanor knew.

Black Wolf Crew was destroyed. Dusk Reign Crew and Origin Oath Crew had allied. A new ruler had been born.

Night deepened. The news of Black Wolf Crew's fall was still spreading wildly throughout Sylvanor.

At that moment, a convoy of black SUVs was slowly driving away from the base along the highway.

The cabin was quiet. After a full night of fighting and scheming, everyone finally allowed themselves to relax.

Lucinda leaned against the window. The night wind blew in through the half-open window, gently lifting the strands of hair by her forehead.

Reginald sat beside her, but his gaze never left her.

Since they'd left the underground chamber, there had been a question weighing on his mind.

Finally, Reginald spoke. "Can you tell me now?"

Lucinda turned her head and raised an eyebrow. "Tell you what?"

"Origin Oath Crew." Reginald looked at her, his tone serious. "And why you're in Sylvanor in the first place."
