Chapter 75 Domestic Violence

Chapter 75 Domestic Violence

After Jennifer left, Daphne wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes and looked at Aaron with a pitiful expression. "Aaron, does this mean we can't see each other anymore? I know I'll be really sad, but I'll control myself and won't come looking for you. I don't want to make things difficult for you." As she spoke, she turned her face away, looking gentle and understanding.

Aaron pulled her hand and let her lean against him, then touched her cheek and comforted her gently, "Don't cry, it breaks my heart. Sorry you had to go through that today. I'll take you shopping later and buy you a few bags."

Daphne couldn't hold back the smile at the corners of her mouth. Her eyes widened with delight. "But didn't you just say we wouldn't see each other anymore?"

"Jennifer is my wife's good friend. I only said those things to fool her. It's fine, we'll just be more careful from now on and switch to a different hotel." Aaron's tone was relaxed. Jennifer was soft-natured, and he'd clearly convinced her just now. She probably wouldn't tell Mia about this. After saying this, Aaron put his arm around Daphne, and they went to the mall, chatting and laughing.

On her way back, Jennifer kept thinking about this. On one hand, she felt that as a good friend, she should warn Mia. But on the other hand, she thought it would be better if Aaron came clean himself. After thinking it over for a long time, she decided to call Mia to test her attitude.

"Jennifer, you miss me again?" Mia's voice was bright and cheerful.

Jennifer hesitated a bit. "Yes, I wanted to ask when you're coming back."

Mia didn't notice anything unusual and replied, "My flight is in three days. Are you going to pick me up at the airport? No need, Aaron will pick me up."

Jennifer's grip on her phone tightened. "Speaking of Aaron, you've been traveling for so long this time. How come he didn't go with you?" In the past, whenever Mia traveled, Aaron always went with her. Because Mia was pretty and had a lively personality, men would always hit on her when she went out, and he was afraid someone would steal her away.

Mia laughed. "He's matured now and knows to focus on his career. Plus, without him following me around, I have more freedom. I'll tell you a secret - men abroad really know how to dress well."

Jennifer didn't know what to say and could only agree. "As long as you're having fun. We haven't seen each other in a while. You have to make time to see me when you get back."

"Of course. The show here is about to start, so I have to go. See you when I get back." There was a burst of loud music on Mia's end, and then she hung up.

Jennifer looked at her phone and bit her lower lip. She'd better wait until Mia got back to find a chance to warn her. Maybe during this time, Aaron would come clean to Mia, which would minimize the damage.

But she didn't expect that when Mia video-called Aaron that evening, she mentioned Jennifer's phone call. Aaron's expression changed instantly. Although he quickly made up an excuse, Mia still vaguely felt something was off. So she came back early. She didn't tell anyone she was coming back and went straight home. She planned to drop off her luggage and then go to the office to find Aaron. He'd said he had an important meeting this afternoon.

Mia pulled her carry-on luggage and opened the front door. Her eyes suddenly narrowed. At the entrance was a pair of silver rhinestone high heels - not hers. She opened the shoe cabinet and found that her commonly worn slippers were gone, and Aaron's slippers weren't there either. He was home, with a woman, and had let this woman wear her slippers! Mia pushed her luggage aside and rushed upstairs without even changing her shoes. They lived in a three-story townhouse with the master bedroom on the second floor.

The sound of high heels rang out urgently, but the two people in the bedroom were completely unaware. Mia pushed open the bedroom door and saw Aaron, shirtless, on top of a young woman having sex. Their lower bodies were covered with a thin blanket, but it wasn't hard to guess what they were doing. The woman was moaning loudly, gasping as she asked, "Aaron, if we have sex here, will your wife find out?"

The woman on the bed was Daphne. She had deliberately dressed very sexy today to bring Aaron some documents, and sure enough, Aaron couldn't resist and pulled her straight into the master bedroom. She saw Mia's wedding photo still on the nightstand. In the photo, Aaron looked at Mia with eyes full of love, and Mia was quite pretty with a bright smile. Too bad men ultimately get tired of the old and crave the new. Though young, Daphne had long seen through this.

Aaron's all-too-familiar voice responded, "No, she's not coming back until tomorrow. I'm even picking her up at the airport. Looks like I'm not trying hard enough - you still have the energy to worry about her."

"Aaron!" Before he could finish, Mia's bag came flying at them. With her confident and bold personality, Mia naturally couldn't tolerate Aaron's cheating. She rushed over and started scratching and hitting both of them. The smug smile on Daphne's face disappeared instantly. She screamed while frantically dodging to the side, grabbing the thin blanket to wrap around herself. Aaron had told her Mia had a bad temper, but he hadn't told her that Mia hit so hard!

Aaron covered his face and begged for mercy. "Mia, how did you get back? Let me explain. Don't hit my face."

"Explain what? I saw it with my own eyes! Aaron, I never thought you were such a disgusting person! I'll kill you both!" Mia cursed as she hit them, but tears streamed down her face. Aaron had pursued her for two years and done many things that moved her. After she agreed to be with him, she truly fell in love with him. He usually acted like he adored Mia. She never expected that less than a year after their marriage, he would cheat, and even bring his mistress home to have sex! Mia lost control of her emotions and grabbed the ashtray by the bed, smashing it into Aaron's forehead.

"Enough!" Blood started flowing from Aaron's forehead. The sharp pain made him slap Mia across the face. Mia didn't expect him to actually hit her. She stepped back and fell onto the carpet, covering her face and staring at Aaron in shock. A flash of regret crossed Aaron's face. "Mia, I didn't mean to."

Daphne fumbled to put on Aaron's shirt and walked over in small steps, gently touching Aaron's face. "You're bleeding. Aaron, does it hurt? Should we go to the hospital to treat the wound? Mia has such a bad temper. Even if she's angry, she shouldn't hit you like this. Isn't this domestic violence?"

Mia laughed coldly, slapped his hand away, stood up, and swung her arm to slap Daphne across the face, saying viciously, "You damn homewrecker, is it your place to talk?"

Daphne's head jerked to the side from the slap, and her face instantly turned red. She covered her face and cried, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean anything by it. I just feel bad for Aaron. He's a man after all. If you love him, you should leave him some dignity."

Aaron frowned and grabbed Mia's hand as she tried to hit Daphne again. His tone was a bit cold. "Mia, I said stop!"
