Chapter 49 Celene In Danger

Chapter 49 Celene In Danger
People always cried before they talked, and I was ready to hear him bitch about before he realises that his life is essentially over.

I drove in silence, straight to my underground parking lot. I parked the car, dragged him out, and marched him through the side entrance without resistance. By then, he knew better. His fear had apparently matured, because he was no longer wailing and begging for mercy.

He was no longer thrashing about trying to escape, but I knew better than to trust him. Of course the fucjrr wanted to escape. Not ling after, my lonely white walls greeted us and we found ourselves in a separate room just next door tomthe broken and battered men I had been busy with earlier.

I sat him down in the chair right in the middle of the room and circled him slowly.
“You know,” I said, wiping my bloody hand on a cloth, “you almost did something very stupid tonight.”
He whimpered... weak. This should be easy.

“The woman you were following...She’s not just a woman you just choose to follow,” I continued. “She’s not curiosity. She’s not fucking entertainment.”
I leaned down until we were eye to eye.
“She’s mine.”

"I know that now... please... please I beg you, Paimon." He began to sob again.
"So, you know me well then... which means you know exactly what would happen to you here..." I said, my voice gritted with anger.

"Forgive me, Paimon... I was sent"
"By whom?" I asked, calm rage seething within me. They semt this weak bastard? He did not even wait a little bit to be tortured before he was singing like a fucking canary. Whoever employed him either wasn't paying him well enough to risk it, or he was just a backstabbing fucker. Both options annoyed the crap out of me.

Who. Sent. You?" I asked again... dragging his attention and my drifting mind back to the matter at hand.

"I don't know" he said, unshed tears welling in his eyes. This. Fucking. Bastard...
"Oh really? Well, I have a few tools that could jog your memory" I said, walking towards the table by the far end of the room. I had one like it in every room..

"No... wait... wait... please. I'm innocent."
"Dont nail your coffin with your words. I did not pick you up from the side of her house because you were innocent. You fool, don't piss me off."

I waited for exacttwo secomds for him to speak, but when he stayed silent, I walked again towards the table again.
 That broke him.

"OK... ok... I'll tell you! But I really dont know ow who it is. They communicate with me through letters and phone messages. I've never met them in person before, but they seem to know a lot about you... right from when you were young!!"

"Interesting...when I was younger, you say?"
"Yes ... yes. He seemed to know a lot about you"
"He?? I thought you never knew them? I asked, walking towards his chair in the middle of the room.

"They always used a voice charger everytime they spike, so I never truly knew their gender. They only asked me to gather information on her"

So they were just cowards who didn’t want to get their own hands dirty. But the information i had gotten was enough. Enough for me to start pulling threads.
Enough for me to know this wasn’t random.
Good.
When I finally stepped back, I felt calm again. Centered. Focused.

I sent a single message.
Jeffery: Prep the main room. I’m coming in.
Then I thought of Celene.
Of the way she’d looked back at me before she left. Concerned, soft and fucking trusting. For some reason she trusted me, but all I've succeeded to do was introduce her to danger. Fuck!!
