I could see Lorraine in a resplendent Lime green dress. There was Nathan Sinclair seated in one corner sipping on a spirit. He was talking to two elderly people one of whom resembled Jayden only that he was way older and had gray hair.

"Are those your parents? I have never met them." I asked subtly pointing in their general direction.

"Yes they are, come I introduce you now," He pulled me over to his parents who beamed with delight.

"This is the lovely woman I was telling you that has captured your son's heart," Nathan said standing up. "Her name is Sierra Lane."

"Sierra, these are Mr. and Mrs. Grey."

"Finally, I can put a face to the name. I have heard so much about you from everyone," the elderly lady said. "We will talk after the main event."

I looked at Jayden in confusion but his father brought me in for a hug, "Welcome to the family."

"You will strangle the poor girl," Mrs. Grey chuckled. It was true he had some strength that I wasn't expecting from someone his age.

Brian remained behind to talk to his grandparents.

"Sierra, my cottage misses you," someone said behind me.

I turned around and hugged Mrs. Wango. "I wasn't expecting you here."

"Well if this is the only way to drag you back to my cottage. How do you expect an old lady to live without rental income?" she grumbled. I chuckled as we both knew I had paid a year's rent in advance.

"Hello Jayden, still interested in buying my cottage? I have an ungrateful tenant," she said and hugged him. Jayden laughed and the two made small talk. I spotted Cynthia in the crowd and I went to her.

"No wonder I didn't see you around," I commented. "Where is Dave?"

"You will see," she said and kept mum.

"Ladies and gentlemen, if we could take our seats please," Frankie's voice said over the speakers. The lights were dimmed as we took our seats and servers brought red and white candles and placed them on each of the tables that could host five people.

Our table had me, Jayden, Brian, and Lorraine.

"First of all, happy birthday to you, Sierra Lane." Everyone chimed in happy birthday and the servers all sang a birthday song and delivered a large cake to the front that had my name spelt out in white chocolate.

I turned to Jayden with a big smile on my face, "Thank you, I had even forgotten about my birthday."

"I was told you haven't celebrated your birthday as an adult so I am going all out."

"Sierra there is a big pile of presents waiting for you to open but before that there is one more special present from Jayden."

I looked at him wondering what it could be.

"Sierra and everyone else please look up at the sky."

I stood up and looked at the dark sky wondering what I was seeing. Then I saw it the first of the fireworks. They shot up to the sky and exploded into a myriad of colors. Another rocket shot up to the sky followed by a slew of rockets.

They spelt out my name and a message

I looked down and noticed that the majority of the city had the lights off and was in darkness. I turned to look at Jayden, my heart full of gratitude.

"There is more to come," Frankie said. "I want you to come up here to the stage and stand beside me so that you can get the front row view."

I got up and went to the stage where Frankie stood. She made me stand in front of her and pointed to the sky.

"Just look at the sky."

I stood gazing at it waiting for whatever. Soon I heard it first, the drone of a plane followed by glowing iridescent smoke.

It spelt out:

Will you marry me, Sierra Lane?

The words were then surrounded by a heart. Tears started forming in my eyes and I turned around to see Jayden on his knee. Brian was beside him holding that package he had been guarding. In Jayden's hand was a small velvet box that was opened to reveal a two-stone ring.

A toi et moi. Later on I would find out that Jayden had had the ring custom-made in the country's top jeweler. It was a two-stone ring made up of alexandrite and rubellite set in a platinum band. It had my name engraved on the inside.

I looked into his eyes as he said: "Sierra, you are the most amazing person I have ever met. You make me happy every day with your smile, your kindness, and your love. You are my soulmate, and my partner in crime. I can't imagine my life without you. Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"

I am stunned and speechless. I cover my mouth with my hand and tears flow down. I nod and say an empathetic "Yes!" with a smile.

Jayden slips the ring on my finger and stands up. He pulls me into his body, hugging me and kisses me passionately. Another round of fireworks shoot up in the air and they spell

I swear I heard roars and cheers from down the street that was quickly drowned by sounds of ululation and clapping from everyone around. Brian comes over and joins our hug.

I look around my friend and family and smile. I finally see Llewellyn and he has Amanda in his arms and they are also clapping wildly. Dave and Cynthia are waving in excitement. I see Nala blowing me kisses with both hands and a big smile on her face.

The band plays a slow romantic song and we dance together on the stage and everyone joins us in the dance.

"I love you Jayden Grey." I told him.

"I love you too, Sierra Grey."
