Chapter 7: Chapter Seven
Cirdan:
My mate is sure a funny one, or so I thought until it was clear that she does not understand what was happening to us.
And I am the one who has to bear it because I could not find myself being closer to her without being with her. And then she just had to go and gotten lost, and I snapped at her.
I couldn’t tell her that I was worried about her, and I had a legitimate reason to be worried.
Not like ‘hey, you are my mate, and I don’t want anybody other than me to ravish your body and you came close to that today’ could be considered as a legitimate reason.
She was also the reason why I was taking my dinner with the rest students even though I have to endure their fawns and fake friendships.
The highest time I was willing to give her for her to catch up and enjoy her last days of singlehood was a month. A month from now, I imagined my mate would be in my arms and the kitchens would have prepared our dinner separately since I would still be getting my fill of her by this time after coming from classes.
Entering the halls, I did not see her as I wondered what was happening as a lot of people had their heads buried in their phones. I moved to Finn who looked pale and strangely constipated.
“That is going on?” I asked him as I sat opposite him and he lifted his eyes to look at me, he opened his mouth, but no words came out and I looked at him confused. What was his problem? I wondered.
“Where is Iris, don’t tell me she is missing again?” I frowned.
Finn looked surprised.
“Does that mean that you haven’t seen it?” Finn asked in a low voice.
“Seen what?” I wondered out loud. He did not reply to me, or rather not by words. He opened his phone and played a clip and handed the phone to me. I watched confused at first before I realized that it was a prank being played, my mood turned icy when I saw who was being naked.
Iris, My mate. I could hear male voices in the background and for there to be videos. This was more than just a prank. It would have been only that if there were no men and videos but this. It was just too much. Taking in a deep breath, I closed my eyes and concentrated on finding every video that has been distributed of Iris since she arrived and wiped everything once.
Curses rang out as people saw that it had disappeared and that was when I stood up, my anger overflowing. I glared at the three so call soul sisters who went too far this time and then I banged my chair on the ground. It created a loud sound, loud enough for others to turn and when they saw it was me, they kept quiet and waited for me to talk.
“Violation of private rights, sexual harassment, cyber and physical bullying to name a few are what everybody who had that video committed. These are not crimes only in this school but in this part of the realm too. It is punishable by law. Now I could report you all or I could just keep quiet about it all as you guys will too about the whole incident, I hear anybody speak of it and I will not only meet the principal but the prime minister and tell them about this.” When no reply came, I nodded my head.
“I hope you all will keep your part of the bargain.” I added as I walked the direction I came from.
“Cirdan, where are you going?” Finn asked.
“To find Iris and try to convince her that some of us can think for ourselves and not let three envious bitches put us in trouble,” I replied and just as I was about to exit the room, I remembered something. “And lastly before I forget, she is under my protection. If something of this nature happens again, heaven help the person because it would not go unpunished by me.” With those words, I left them and their silence.

Cirdan:
I saw her, at the waterfalls. Crying as her body shook softly, I had to rein in the urge to send something unpleasant to the soul sisters for making my mate cry. Then again, nobody other than me seems to know she is my mate.
“I thought I hear a noise,” I said, my tone normal as if I did not have rage brewing inside me.
Her body stiffens at the sound of my voice. “Go away.”
“And let you continue your pity party, not a chance.” I replied as I took a seat beside her. “Besides, you should be grateful that I am the one who came here, if anybody else sees you like this, you would be an outcast quicker than you can blink.”
Her eye sparkled in anger as she yanked her face up so she could look at me. “In case you don’t know, which I find hard to believe, I am already an outcast, I was taped in my undergarments while screaming from a snake attack that nobody else caught on tape, so it seemed like I was scared of my shadow.”
“Please.” Cirdan forced himself to roll his eyes and act like he would have if she was just another random person which was a joke because if she was a random person, he would not be trying to make her feel better right now. “I destroyed the recording everywhere when I discovered it and you overreacted, the snake could not harm anything physical, it was just an illusion.”
“I would know the difference between a real snake and one made up. This one had fangs and shattered my mirror when I ducked out of its way as it tried to attack me in the face.” Iris exclaimed loudly.
I frowned at her words. If what she is saying is right that means she was truly in danger. I didn’t want to think that way because if I do, the soul sisters would have to leave this school for putting her in danger and I would not let them leave unscathed.
One thing was clear though, she was not allowed to stay in that room again. In fact, I would tell the principal to move her room closer to mine so that in that way, I could keep watch over her and the closest people to my part of the dormitory were those I could control, besides when we do mate, it would be easier for her to be always in my room.
“I will talk to the principal about changing your room, can you stay there this evening?” When she shook her head in reply, I nodded. “I understand, I will see what I can do and also I apologize for their actions, you and I both know who are responsible for this annoying stunt, I would advise that you don’t get on their nerves more until you can hold your stand against them.”
“I didn’t mean to, they came to me and warned me away from you,” Iris replied, her voice filled with anger.
And I was slowly getting angry too, they are unknowingly ruining my chances with my mate they would know better very soon.
“And that reminds me, why are you nice to me? You were angry with me just two days ago…” Iris started.
“You placed yourself in danger, I hated that.”
“What’s the difference between then and now?” Iris returned.
“Did you place the snake in your room?” I countered when she did not reply, I nodded. “There lie your differences. Look, I am not angry with you, I don’t think that that can happen okay. You are just someone who I regard as an acquaintance and that is more than what some people I have known for years have.”
“In that case, I guess we should introduce ourselves to each other.” She replied with a smile as she turned to face me. “Hello, my name is Iris.” She stretched her hand out for a handshake.
I looked from her hand to her face. It would be so easy for me to reach out and touch her,but she really was not ready for that. Besides, I needed to know if she truly was a changeling before I instigated contact.
“Contact,” I replied, and I watched as she took her hand back. “I’m sorry about that but no contact please. My name is Cirdan, and it is a pleasure to meet you.” I responded with a smile to lessen the effect of my words. I watched as she smiled at me and I knew immediately that very soon, this lady was going to control me unknowingly.
