Chapter 66 A devil from the past

Chapter 66 A devil from the past
~~Damien’s POV~~

I seemed to have passed out.

As I woke up, Charlotte was sitting beside me, her hands clutched in mine. I could feel the sweat drop down the sides of my face.

"Damein!" she shouted and wrapped her hands around me for a hug. “You are okay,” she said excitedly.

I looked around at my soldiers who stood ahead. “A moment with my wife, please,” he pleaded.

They bowed their heads and walked out.

“Vita mia… I'm so sorry I didn't mean to scare you."

"Well, you did,” she choked, her voice shaking.

I struggled to sit up on the bed; the lights from the chandelier bounced against her brown hair, accentuating her features. “I'm sorry I passed out."

She shook her head. “It doesn't matter, as long as you are okay."

She placed her head on my chest to check my breathing. “You are okay,” she said softly.

I patted her head gently.

“It's going to be okay, Vita mia" it's going to be okay."

That night I went to meet Elosie; I was dressed in a black suit and tie. Elosie had picked a five-star restaurant; for some reason it was empty. She must have rented the entire place.

The lights on the ceiling cast a yellowish glow across the place, almost seductive.

I walked towards the only table with food on it, wondering where she was.

“Hi, boyfriend?" I heard her behind me.

I turned around to see her; she wore a pair of black heels and a black leather jacket that went all the way down to her ankles.

She licked her lips, her eyes moving seductively all over me, “You look good,” her heels clicked against the tilted floor as she approved of me; her strawberry blond hair was styled in waves, giving her a majestic look, “Better than the last time I saw you."

She placed her arms around my neck, and it sent a wave of anger through me; only my wife could do that. She drew her nose t
o my neck and sucked in a deep breath.
