Chapter 181

Beau

“Fucking disgusting pedophile freak, and a necro to boot,” Brianna tutted, she looked at her fingernails and shook her head, “I wonder if I took more than your ability to walk when you came looking for me. Do you know how hard it was to not kill you on the spot every time you touched me? To endure it so I could get out? Just so I could gain my full strength to come back and seek retribution for everything? She smiled towards her mother, “You don’t get to go to hell for killing my father. You wanted purgatory and I have someone here that can send you somewhere better. And you won't have any power there, will she?” She turned casually to Wyatt in question.

“No,” he growled out, his canines showing his face shadowed in the angles that marked him as a predator, as he sat precariously in the lane between shifting and humanity. I wasn’t any better off as I struggled to keep my claws in. Brianna set loose her mother.

“You little bitch you ruined everything! From the day Pierre brought you into this house a screaming whaling pink monster. Look at you. You’re the fucking freak here.” Brianna chuckled darkly.

“Lorraine, I’ve learned a lot about your family’s history since I've been away. I must say you lived right up to your namesake, vial creature that you are. Tell me why did she want to destroy the Fontenot family? She tried. She cursed them for generations. But not anymore. You are going to take with you the knowledge that your taint on this world is over. You won't be reborn again.

“Don’t you dare! Who told you!”

“I will fucking do as I damn well please. This is my house now and I am taking the seat meant for me not you. You failed just like she did. Oh, Jolene, she's with me you know. Joined her soul to mine to see your ancestors' curse lifted.”

“The fucking wolves girl? You’ve been fucking around with those animals?”

“Shut your fucking mouth, Lorraine, I'm tired of your nonsense. At least they treated me better than any of you ever did,” she grinned tauntingly. “You two get to go slowly, and I’ll do you a favor. I’ll let you try to fight me. It should be amusing to the crowd. All those people you wanted to impress. The ones you paraded me around in front of like prized chattel, your cruelty wasn’t worth it was it? See how they are looking at you now? Tell me Alpha, what do they feel about her?”

“Horror, they can’t wait for them to die,” Wyatt growled.

Bri snorted.

“Funny how that all works out. Maybe they will learn to see with their own eyes instead of settling for the mirages people choose to portray themselves to be.” she sighed. “I came here for you. Taking care of the rest of your nest of vipers is just icing on the cake.” The shadows receded from Lorraine settling back into Bri.

“Stupid, stupid girl, you are going to pay,” Lorraine spat. Tendrils of red and black smoke slithered from Lorraine twisting together into a pair of enormous shadowed black and red serpents, their maws gapped in a hiss that shot out hot air into the space between us. Their tails rattled eerily echoing in the now otherwise silent room. Gasps and murmurs spilled from the lips of the onlookers as they began huddling together in fear. Good, they should be scared.

Brianna’s power flowed through us a thread stretching out from within me and into her shadows. That energy built before us as similar red and black energy pooled together into the form of two massive wolves with glowing eyes, our wolves had joined her in this fight. The vipers rose before us coiled and ready to strike, the wolves lunged not waiting for the strike as phantom teeth sunk into the black depths of the snakes, the vipers writhed, and a sliver of light was suddenly sent coursing into the vipers where it grew and expanded the celestial light of Bri’s power consuming them. The wolves shook the remnants, the dark power falling like shards of darkness from the wolves’ jaws as they disintegrated.

Bri smiled sadly as the wolf energy morphed, spinning into a vortex that consumed Lorraine, Draven, and Beckham’s lifeless body, blocking them from sight. The living two shrieked in horror within the darkness. The moon pulsed overhead and the darkness erupted into a churning blinding light. Everyone blocked their eyes, that was except for Bri, Wyatt, and myself. Somehow we could see through it, as the light tore them apart and they fell away into nothing. The light winked out and the dark power pulled back to reveal an empty stage. That is except for Silas.
