Chapter 66
*DRAKE*
Jewel seems to have been avoiding talking with me ever since she confessed to me.
I overheard her telling her grandmother that she was tired of working as a maid and she's still job hunting.
I don't like the fact that she's working as a maid, the problem is when she's able to find a job, she might leave soon.
I was lost in thoughts when I heard a knock.
"Come in please" I glanced to see who it was.
It was Pearl's grandmother. It's been two months since she started living in my house and we've never sat to discuss, the only time we talked was when she thanked me for letting her in.
"Please sit" I pointed at a chair across the room.
She smiled faintly and sat down.
"I want to say thank you for all you've done for my granddaughter and I. We are really grateful. I wonder how life would have turned out without you." She smiled.
I just nodded. I wonder what she was going to say next.
"My first daughter called, she said she's been trying to reach me for a very long time and that she got a good job and can now take care of Jewel and I. So we've gotten our visa already and we will be leaving in two days." She said with no expression written on her face.
"Why didn't Jewel come with you?" I blustered
"The head of maids keeps punishing her unnecessarily so she's just too busy to come tell you herself" She frowned.
Why does Miranda keep doing this nonsense!. I've never liked her, she keeps mistaking my care for her as affection not as if I give her special treatment. I smirked.
"I'm sorry I would talk to Miranda" I replied.
"Don't worry we're leaving in two days, she didn't want me to tell you about Miranda" She tried to persuade me.
I nodded without saying a word, she stood up and left.
I would not spare that fool for giving her I'll treatment!.
The thought of living without Jewel hit me, I felt my heart shattering.
"Jewel"
"Jewel" Her name kept ringing in my head.

*JEWEL*
I was arranging my stuff into my luggage. I was getting ready to leave for my Aunt's place. I'm surely going to miss Drake but living here was fun when he is around me but hell when he is absent.
Miranda made it clear to me that she was dating Drake and the way they act sometimes makes me believe it.
I remember them standing closely, she crying in his arms, like what the heck! I don't even want to think of it!.
I felt hot tears running down my cheeks.
"Why I'm I crying?" I sniffed and wiped off my tears quickly.
I felt my whole body shaking. I couldn't bear but scream, shout and cry.
I'm not important to me, the kiss meant nothing, whatever we did was nothing it's just normal to him.
I laid on the floor and continued crying and then drifted to sleep.

*RINA*
Pearl and I were walking through the hallway when someone bumped into me. Pearl didn't seem to be paying attention to me; she kept walking.
"Nonsense!" Clara laughed.
"What did I ever do to deserve this?" I asked as I discovered that I sprained my ankle.
Why do I have to always sprain my ankle whenever I fall?.
"Are you too stupid to know it?" She whispered and smirked. She was about bending down to act like she was trying to help me up when Clara suddenly screamed.
"Please respect the Luna" Pearl grabbed Clara's ear and twisted it.
"Ouch! Was that why you pulled my ear?" She wailed.
"Yes" Pearl smirked and released Clara's ear making her stagger a bit.
"I would let this slide. Trust me if this happens next time you would have yourself to blame." Pearl warned as she held me up.
She led me to her room and helped me massage my feet and went as far as bandaging it.
"This would help" She smiled as soon as she was done with bandaging my legs. She waved for the maids to go.
I noticed that my maids fear and respect her more than they do to me.
"Would you like to learn self defense and also build on your inner strength ?" Pearl smiled. "The Luna ought to be strong".
"Yes!" I nodded happily.
It was a brilliant idea. I don't think that I've ever thought of this.
"Okay we would get started as soon as the Alpha approves it." She smiled faintly.
"Oh I almost forgot that I needed his consent." I frowned, scratching my head.
How I'm I supposed to convince him, won't he think that I'm trying to say that his protection isn't enough?.
I was lost in thoughts when Pearl tapped my lap.
"Huh?" My eyes widened.
"I would talk to him," She smiled. It seemed as if she read my thoughts.
"Thanks" I let out a sigh of relief.
"I will take my leave now" I stood to leave. "Shhh" I felt pain as I stood up.
"Take it easy" She stretched her hands towards me quickly when she noticed that I was almost falling.
"It's okay," I assured her. "I would be careful" I smiled faintly.
When I got to my room, I met Damien laying on the bed. He was busy scrolling through his phone when he heard me hissed in pain, he quickly dropped his phone and rushed towards me.
"What happened?" He lifted me off the floor and dropped me on the bed.
"I sprained my ankle" I tried to force a smile but it wasn't working out.
"How did it happen ?" He asked with a hint of anger in his voice.
"I'm sorry I fell down. It was jut a minor accident. '' I stretched my hand towards him and caressed his hair.

*DAMIEN*
Pearl has never been to my office alone; she usually comes with Alpha Erickson.
To what do I owe this visit?.
She kept talking about trying to teach Rina how to protect herself.
"Self defense?" I raised a brow and relaxed fully on my chair.
"Yes,she doesn't have to rely on you for minor issues. Besides she's your Luna to be she needs to be strong." Pearl explained further.
She's right though, I've never thought of it.
"Okay, I approve of it." I played with the ball point pen and kept rolling my chair from left to right.
"Thanks" She smiled and took her leave.
I watched her leave my office.
As soon as she walked through the door, I texted Rina and called Drake.
"So when's the meeting starting?" I asked.
"I would be there in a few minutes" I hung up, arranged some files and placed them in my briefcase and left the office.
