Chapter 136 Chapter 136
Chapter 136 Chapter 136
Liam stood outside the movie theatre, patiently waiting for Logan.
The previous day, he'd texted Logan and invited him to see a movie, claiming that a friend had cancelled at the last minute and he didn't want the extra ticket to go to waste.
The truth, however, was very different.
No friend had cancelled.
He had bought both tickets himself, hoping to find an excuse convincing enough for Logan to accept. After much persuasion, Logan had finally agreed, and Liam had spent the rest of the night unable to stop smiling.
Now that the day had finally arrived, he found himself checking his wristwatch every few minutes.
The movie would begin in less than thirty minutes.
Logan was still nowhere in sight.
Liam sighed quietly and pulled out his phone, thinking about calling him.
Just as he unlocked the screen, a familiar voice called out from behind him.
"Liam!"
His heart skipped a beat.
Liam immediately looked up and saw Logan standing a short distance away, waving at him with a bright smile.
For a brief moment, time seemed to stop.
The afternoon sunlight fell gently across Logan's face, making his smile seem even brighter than usual. His soft dark hair shifted slightly in the breeze, and his eyes sparkled with warmth as he walked over.
Liam simply stared.
His heartbeat grew louder with every step Logan took toward him.
"How can someone be this beautiful?'' He wondered.
Without realizing it, a small smile found its way onto his lips.
He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't even notice Logan had already reached him.
"Hey, Liam."
A gentle hand touched his arm.
Liam blinked and quickly came back to reality.
"Huh?"
Logan chuckled. "I've been calling your name."
"Sorry." Liam rubbed the back of his neck with an embarrassed laugh. "I guess I got distracted."
"What were you thinking about?" Logan asked curiously.
Liam looked into those warm eyes for a split second.
''You.''
The answer echoed silently inside his head.
Instead, he smiled and shook his head.
"It's nothing."
Logan didn't question it.
"I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long." He apologized. "Traffic was terrible."
Liam shook his head immediately.
"Not at all. Besides, the movie doesn't start for another five minutes."
Logan let out a relieved sigh.
"Good."
He looked toward the cinema entrance before grinning.
"Well... what are we standing here for? Let's go before we're actually late."
Without thinking, Logan reached for Liam's hand and pulled him along.
"Come on!"
Liam stumbled forward with a surprised laugh.
His eyes slowly drifted down to where their hands were joined.
Logan didn't seem to think anything of it.
He was simply hurrying them toward the theatre.
But to Liam...
That single touch felt like electricity.
His fingers instinctively tightened ever so slightly around Logan's hand before he caught himself.
His heart pounded wildly inside his chest.
For those few precious seconds, the noise of the bustling cinema, the chatter of the crowd and everything around them seemed to fade away.
All he could see was Logan.
All he could think about was the warmth of the hand holding his.
Without realizing it, Liam allowed Logan to lead him forward, a small smile lingering on his lips as he silently wished the walk to the theatre would never end.
Throughout the movie, Liam could barely focus on what was happening on the screen.
His attention kept drifting back to the person sitting beside him.
Every now and then, he'd steal another glance at Logan.
Whenever Logan laughed at a funny scene, Liam found himself smiling too. When Logan frowned in confusion during a plot twist, trying to figure out what was going on, Liam couldn't help finding it adorable.
To Liam, every little expression on Logan's face seemed captivating.
Completely unaware of the attention he was receiving, Logan remained focused on the movie.
A few minutes later, Liam suddenly remembered something.
His eyes lit up.
Carefully, he reached down and picked up the brown paper bag resting beside his seat before quietly handing it to Logan.
Logan looked away from the screen and accepted it.
"What's this?" He whispered.
Liam leaned closer so he wouldn't disturb the other people.
"Open it."
Logan gave him a puzzled look before carefully unfolding the top of the bag, making sure it didn't crinkle too loudly.
The moment he looked inside, his eyes widened.
"...Liam."
Inside were all of his favourite snacks from high school.
The same chocolate bars.
The same cookies.
The same sweets he'd always buy after classes.
Liam smiled, pleased to see the exact reaction he'd been hoping for.
"I remembered those were your favourites back then.'' He whispered. "I wasn't sure if your taste had changed, but... I thought it'd be nice to surprise you."
Logan stared into the bag for another moment before looking back at Liam, genuine surprise written all over his face.
"I... I honestly don't know what to say."
A bright smile slowly spread across his face.
"I can't believe you still remember all this."
He let out a soft laugh, shaking his head in disbelief.
"It's been years since I had some of these."
His eyes met Liam's again.
"Thank you so much."
Liam's heart skipped a beat.
"You don't have to thank me." He smiled softly. "Seeing you happy is enough."
Logan smiled even wider.
"No... seriously."
"Thank you."
He reached into the bag and pulled out one of his favourite cookies.
Carefully opening the wrapper beneath the armrest so it wouldn't make too much noise, he broke off a piece and took a bite.
The moment the familiar taste filled his mouth, he closed his eyes with a satisfied smile.
"Mmm..."
A quiet laugh escaped him.
"It tastes exactly the way I remember."
The cookie instantly brought back memories of carefree afternoons after school, when life had seemed so much simpler.
Still smiling, he turned toward Liam.
"Here." He held the cookie toward him. "Have a bite. It still tastes amazing."
Liam looked at the half eaten cookie for a second before leaning forward without hesitation.
He took a bite from the very same piece Logan had been eating.
His eyes never left Logan's.
"It really does.'' He whispered with a smile.
Logan chuckled softly before taking another bite himself.
"Thank you again, Liam. This really means a lot."
Liam simply nodded. "You're welcome."
Logan soon turned his attention back to the movie, happily snacking on the treats Liam had bought for him.
A warm smile remained on his face as he watched the film, completely unaware of the storm quietly brewing beside him.
Liam, on the other hand, barely glanced at the screen.
His gaze remained fixed on Logan.
Watching him enjoy something as simple as a cookie somehow made his chest ache.
For years, he'd kept his feelings buried deep inside his heart.
Back then, he had convinced himself that staying silent was the right thing to do.
But not anymore.
Tonight, he was done pretending.
Even if Logan already had a boyfriend...
Even if he knew the answer might break his heart...
He wanted Logan to know the truth.
His first love.
The person he'd secretly loved for years.
Liam took a slow, steady breath.
''After the movie.'' He thought.
''I'm going to tell him everything.''
