Chapter 10
"I've even eaten dead rats when I didn't have food, and I'm more concerned about staying alive than I am about what you're saying."
He sent a mouthful of food towards his mouth, his expression indifferent.
My heart throbbed, how much has the young master, who is supposed to be golden, suffered!
I looked at the necklace swinging around his neck and asked tentatively, "Jason, I think I've seen that necklace around your neck before."
"You mean, you knew me a long time ago?" Jason smiles and looks over at me, his eyes no longer a pool of dead water.
He said this necklace was handmade for him by her mother, and that it was the only one of its kind in the whole world.
I didn't hear anything he said after that at all, except that I had found the little boy who had saved me that year.
The tiny figure from back then and the Jason in front of me gradually overlapped, and I was finally sure that he was the same little boy.
I cried harder.
I wouldn't have come to the Dyer family if I hadn't been trying to find out the truth about my mom's death, much less learn that the man who saved my life back then had been
Dyer family man tortured into this.
Great, the Dyer family owes me another debt.
Now that I'm here, from now on, he's mine to guard.
Dyer family, all those dirty people, wait for me.
"Ms. Buckland, why are you crying?" Jason frowned, his tone a little helpless, "I'm just kidding, don't you cry."
I busily wiped my tears and put on a smile, "I'm fine, I'm just thinking about something from the past and getting a little emotional."
"Can you talk to me?" He cocked his head at me, curiosity shining in his eyes.
I nodded and told him about the orphanage, only hiding the part where he saved me.
"I didn't realize Ms. Buckland had that kind of experience." Jason's tone was a little heavy, "No wonder you wanted to come here as a teacher."
