Chapter 182

Chapter 182

Michael smiled brightly, "Didn't you want us to get back together? I thought about it, and I think we can."

"When did I ever say I wanted us to get back together? Leave. Don't come to my house and make a scene."

Cleo dodged him, but Michael acted like he'd gone crazy, pushing himself right in her face.

He didn't look drunk or anything - more like he'd come specifically to disgust everyone.

"Have you forgotten how you cried and begged me? I was wrong, I admit it. I was out of my mind back then. You're the good one, I get it now, so I came back."

After Michael finished speaking, he looked at us.

"Happy New Year, everyone."

This was his second time wishing everyone well, but we had zero interest in hearing him talk. If this weren't a family dinner, we would've kicked him out already.

"Grandpa, Grandma, how are you both doing? Cleo and I had a little hiccup, but I've realized my mistakes. I came here today to sincerely apologize, and I'll take her home with me in a bit."

Cleo pointed at him, "I'm not going anywhere with you, and we're not getting remarried. Stop being fake here. I used to love you, but we'll never be together again in this lifetime!"

Michael sneered, "Don't be so sure. You can't leave me. Who else would want you besides me?"

"I'd rather have no one than be with you. You're already filthy. Stop disgusting my family."

"Your family? Do they even consider you family? If they cared about you, how could they be so cruel to me?"

Michael deliberately tried to shift the blame to Levi, trying to manipulate Cleo into hating her brother.

But Cleo wasn't so easy to manipulate anymore. She wasn't that foolish woman who'd let him walk all over her. Even if she had issues with Levi, she could still tell who treated her well.

"Our relationship is none of your business. Leave now and stop embarrassing yourself."

"How am I embarrassing myself? Tell me!"

Michael rushed up to Cleo and grabbed her by the throat. His eyes were full of hatred. Wasn't his current situation entirely his own fault?

"Let go of my daughter!"

My father-in-law panicked and rushed over.

At that moment, Hayden jumped down from Levi's lap, wanting to protect his mother.

But the chair leg tripped him, and he fell to the ground. His chin hit the floor, and he bit his tongue, drawing blood.

"Dad, don't hurt Mom, let her go..."

Hayden cried while struggling to stand up, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.

"Hayden..."

My mother-in-law rushed over and held him. "Open your mouth, let me see how bad it is."

"Grandma, make Dad let go of Mom, make him leave, please?" Hayden pleaded through his tears.

Cleo forcefully pried Michael's hands off. When Michael saw the child bleeding, he panicked for a moment.

"Get to the hospital, quick!"

Aiden tapped his cane excitedly.

I stood up and walked over to support him. "Grandpa, don't get worked up. I'll handle this."

Levi carried Hayden out, with his parents following right behind.

Cleo grabbed Michael's collar. "Don't do anything stupid."

Michael's mouth twitched. He walked over to me while Celestia backed away in fear, and Rhea pulled her close.

"Since when do you get to speak in this house? Levi won't even acknowledge you as his wife, and you're acting like the lady of the house?"

"It's not my place to speak, but it's even less your place to point fingers here."

I faced him calmly, not feeling at all like a vulnerable pregnant woman.

"Heh, you got him to help you with your price war. You think that's something to be proud of?"

I smiled. "Of course. That's also part of my capability. You want people to help you, but you're all alone, aren't you?"

Michael suddenly grabbed my collar. "Don't provoke me!"

"How dare you!"

Aiden raised his cane and pressed it against his chest.

But this action only provoked him further. He laughed in a terrifying way. "You're just a toy for the Morgan family. When they get tired of you, they'll toss you aside."

"The women around him are all exceptional. Who do you think you are? You overestimate yourself, acting like a Morgan, but you're just an unwanted orphan."

"Even your own father didn't want you!"

Slap!

I hit him hard across the face. I couldn't tolerate him spouting nonsense here. What right did he have to make a scene here? He was scum!

"You dare hit me..."

Michael covered his face, his eyes bloodshot.

Cleo grabbed his clothes from behind. "I'm telling you, don't try anything, or I won't be nice to you!"

"Someone!"

Aiden was beside himself with worry, trembling all over. I knew he wanted to protect us, but he was old and no match for Michael.

"Don't hit my mom. I'll call the police to arrest you."

Celestia hid behind Rhea. She wanted to protect me, but was afraid of getting me involved.

"Yes, yes, call the police. Someone, call the police."

"Haha, the Morgans are all useless!"

Levi rushed in and knocked him down, landing a heavy punch directly to his head, followed by more blows to his face.

"Ah, ah..."

Michael covered his head and rolled on the ground.

"Levi, stop! You'll kill him!"

Cleo pulled Levi back. His fist was bulging with veins as he swung it in the air, then wiped the corner of his mouth with his thumb.

"Get out!"

But Michael had been beaten so badly he couldn't stand up. He just lay on the ground playing the victim. "Murder! Murder..."

"Serves you right for biting people like a dog!"

Cleo suddenly kicked him in the leg a couple more times, her heels making him howl in pain.

"Grandpa, let me take you all back to your rooms."

I couldn't let Aiden and Rhea keep watching this scene, and there was Celestia too - she was probably terrified by what just happened.

If Levi hadn't come back in time, Cleo and I would have been overwhelmed.

"I'll sue you all... ah..."

Michael kept talking tough while groaning in pain.

The butler came in with several people and lifted Michael up. "Mr. Morgan, how should we handle this?"

"Throw him out and feed him to the dogs!"

"This..."

Levi had reached his limit of anger. He must have seen me hit Michael just now and thought Michael had attacked me.

"Jasper, turn him over to the police."

I couldn't lose my mind too. If we really threw him out to feed to the dogs, the Morgan family would look like terrorists. Michael was just a jerk who came to provoke us. Turning him over to the police was the best option - hopefully, they'd lock him up for a few days and teach him a lesson.

"Are you okay?"

Only the three of us were left in the dining room. Cleo came over to ask me.

"I'm fine. You should go to the hospital to be with Hayden. I don't know how badly he's hurt."

Cleo nodded. "I'll go now, then."

The family dinner had been completely ruined by Michael. I held onto the chair - my legs felt a bit weak. I was scared now, thinking maybe I shouldn't have fought back so forcefully just then. If he had pushed me down, my baby...

It was too terrifying to think about...

Levi cupped my face. "Relax, take a deep breath."

I followed his guidance and slowly calmed my emotions. What a chaotic night this had been...
