Chapter 162

Chapter 162

Levi and I stayed in the guest room. He had a lot of company work to handle, so he went to the study to work overtime.

I went to check out the burned bedroom. Just as Levi said, only the area around the window was burned. It was quite miraculous—the important documents and things Rhea gave were all intact.

Including the equity transfer agreement Aiden gave me.

Of course, this copy had already been notarized. Levi had handled it before. I was confused that day, busy refusing it, and forgot it was already a done deal.

In a sense, I'm now the largest shareholder of the Morgan Group. The only one who could challenge my position is Levi, but he said he'd work for me, so he probably won't compete with me.

Of course, I won't compete with him either.

The Morgan Group is the Morgan family's life's work, and Levi has poured his best years into it. We're family—there's no difference between what's mine and what's his.

I checked the work group messages. Neither Nola nor I were at the company, so everything was running according to our instructions through Nola's assistant. No matter what, I had to go to work tomorrow.

Levi told me to rest and focus on the pregnancy, but if the company isn't stable, I won't feel at ease either.

I set my alarm and turned off the lights to sleep.

......

I woke up before the alarm. The reason was that Faye was using an aromatherapy diffuser Jessa had given her. When Levi passed by and caught the scent, he asked her about it, then told her to throw it away.

Faye argued back, saying you can't blame aromatherapy for one fire, and specifically mentioned that hers wasn't even for sleep.

I heard them talking and couldn't fall back asleep.

That night, was the aromatherapy Rhea gave really that sleep-inducing? Why didn't I notice the fire at all and slept so deeply?

When they saw me come out, they stopped arguing.

Levi checked his watch. "It's still early, let's have breakfast together."

"I'm not hungry. I have things at the company, I'm going in early today."

The shipment David and I ordered was about to arrive at the warehouse, and I needed to wait for the quality inspection results.

"Blair, that's right, don't eat with him. He's already ruined my mood this early in the morning."

Faye was quite upset with Levi.

"I won't get involved. You two continue."

I looked around but didn't see Sophia. It seemed after Levi came back, she stopped coming over, probably feeling it was inappropriate to stay at her boss's house.

"Blair, you're being a bit biased here. Although you didn't take sides, it feels like you're leaning toward my brother."

Before I could respond, Faye continued, "Well, you two getting closer is a good thing. That way, Joseph is definitely mine."

"What thing?"

Levi asked.

Faye glared at him. "Levi, I'm really giving you face here. Joseph is a person, not a thing!"

"Who is he?"

"I'm leaving now. You two chat."

I quickly interrupted. If Faye didn't catch on, there was nothing I could do.

Fortunately, Faye stopped in time.

"Why should I tell you? You made me angry."

Faye turned and went back to her room.

The moment I got in the car, I sneaked a glance in their direction. Levi was so busy, he probably didn't have time to care about Joseph.

Besides, Faye didn't explain clearly, so he didn't know who Joseph was.

With Levi's abilities, he would definitely investigate anything he wanted to know. I wasn't worried since I had nothing to hide. I was just concerned he'd be angry about Faye pursuing Joseph, given their age difference of over ten years.

Spring was approaching, and everything was coming back to life. I opened the car window and could already smell spring in the air.

I had just put on a song I liked when Nola called.

I pressed the answer button...

"Blair, what's going on? The warehouse is calling, saying our raw materials have overfilled the warehouse, and trucks keep bringing more."

"Goods from Eldoria?"

"Yes, all from Eldoria."

The order David and I placed wouldn't fill the warehouse. What was going on?

"Let me hang up and call to find out what's happening. Or maybe I should go to the warehouse now to check the quality of the goods too."

"Nola, you absolutely can't overwork yourself. I'm on my way to the company. I'll go straight to the warehouse. You wait at home for my news."

"Blair, that's too formal. I've been so bored at home, I'm about to go moldy. This is a good chance to get some air. We're in the car too. My parents went to see my grandparents today."

"But you still can't..."

Nola hung up, completely ignoring my suggestion. I really hoped she would rest properly. The bleeding incident before had scared me too.

But she was stubborn and couldn't sit still. I had to get there quickly, preferably before she arrived, to figure out what was going on. That way, she'd have less to worry about.

The warehouse also called me, saying they had verified several times that our order was correct, but the quantity of goods delivered was way too much.

I scrolled through my contacts and found David's number.

"Hello, Ms. Ember, I was just about to call you. Did you receive everything?"

"Yes, we did. I want to confirm my order quantity with you."

"The quantity I shipped is definitely correct. I've already checked. Everything was safely delivered to your warehouse."

"Okay, I have other things to handle. Talk later."

Although I hadn't dealt with David much, I trusted his character and work ability. Besides, who would do business at a loss? The shipment could only be short, never over.

When I arrived at the warehouse, Nola and John were already there.

Also, there was an old acquaintance at the scene.

I looked at Levi's assistant holding documents, then at Nola and John's smiles, and guessed this might have something to do with Levi.

"Blair, I have to say I really admire you."

"Hm?"

I was still a bit confused about what she meant.

"So what's going on? Did you figure it out?"

James opened the folder and took out the order form.

"Mr. Morgan said he's investing in a batch of raw materials for your company. The numbers are all here. I've already checked everything."

James looked at me strangely. He really should have that expression—a secretary quits, and Levi, as CEO, invests this much in her. It would be shocking news if it got out.

"Ms..." James didn't know how to address me anymore.

I took the documents from him and nodded slightly.

"Please thank Mr. Morgan for me."

"Okay."

We watched James leave. After his car disappeared around the corner, Nola couldn't hold it in anymore.

"Blair, your husband is seriously generous. If I'd known he got such good raw materials, you wouldn't have needed to go pick them out yourself."

"I didn't know..."

Nola laughed. "This is a surprise, isn't it? Last time, worried you couldn't compete, he bought so many of our products. This time we need to update materials, and he immediately sends over so many high-quality goods."

"Oh, I get it now. When he went on that business trip to Eldoria, was it for these diamonds?"

My mind went blank. Did he really go for me? Could these diamonds be from Ava's family factory?
