Chapter 150

Chapter 150

Ava tapped on the screen, and before I could respond, she said she'd already placed the order.

"Blair, give me your home address."

Now Elliot was even more nervous than me. He looked at me, and I looked at him.

"Send it to my office, that way I can get it right away."

Ava nodded, "Okay, size S should work for you, right? I got myself an M. I'm a bit heavier than you."

"That works."

It was a red Chanel piece. If the size was too big, it wouldn't look good, but my belly would gradually grow bigger, so wearing it might feel awkward anyway.

"You don't need to give me anything in return. My colleagues gave me all sorts of random gifts that I don't really like."

Of course a rich young lady would look down on those little things. I'd seen the gift Sophia gave her - she'd actually put a lot of thought into it and even stayed up all night crocheting.

"I'll carefully pick out a gift for you."

"Really? I'm sure I'll love whatever you give me."

That was her double standard - she'd love anything given by people she approved of.

"She has tons of nice things at home."

Elliot said while drinking, as if he knew me well.

Ava stared at him, "Do you like Blair?"

My heart skipped a beat. What was she saying...

"Of course, everyone appreciates beauty. She's so outstanding, so many people like her. I'm no exception." Elliot looked at me, but I avoided his gaze.

David clapped in approval, "Well said. You mean you admire her talent. Ms. Ember is such a good person, she's very warm."

He probably said this because I chose to work with him without hesitation that day at the gallery. Otherwise, he probably wouldn't have gotten his business off the ground yet.

Ava put down her phone, "Yeah, I like Blair too."

I felt embarrassed by their compliments, my cheeks felt hot. I ate a bite of ice cream to cool myself down.

Just as everyone was chatting and laughing, the doorbell suddenly rang.

David got up to answer the door, telling us to continue.

"Maybe he invited other friends."

Elliot said. He'd had a bit too much to drink and his face was flushed.

Ava took off the jade bracelet from her wrist, "Blair, let me give this to you. David just gave it to me, but honestly I don't really like this style. It doesn't suit me."

"This, I..."

She slipped the bracelet onto my wrist, "So beautiful, it looks better on you. Your skin is so fair."

She really made me laugh. She was clearly so fair, several shades lighter than me, yet she was saying my skin was fair...

"Let me introduce everyone - this is my good friend, my spiritual master, Master Matthew Moore."

The three of us were stunned. This master was wearing a long robe, had delicate features, and didn't look very old.

David specially moved over a chair, "Master Moore, sit here."

Master Moore was probably practicing spiritual cultivation and didn't eat our kind of food, so David didn't offer him any.

Master Moore sat down and smiled at us.

We all smiled back.

"Master Moore is very accurate at fortune-telling. Would any of you like to try?" David's eyes were full of excitement - it looked like he wanted to.

Ava raised her hand, "Me, me!"

Master Moore had her extend her hand and carefully examined her palm.

"What would you like to know?"

"I want to know if Levi Morgan and I will get married."

I looked at Ava's shy face, feeling uncomfortable. I really wanted to know the answer too. Maybe if Master Moore said something, I'd know whether he was actually any good.

Ava opened her phone, "Look, this is his photo. Will we be together?"

Master Moore gave me a meaningful look, then shook his head.

"What does that mean?" Ava got anxious.

"You two don't have that fate."

Ava stood up abruptly, "You're talking nonsense! How can we not have fate? I'm going to be with him, I'm going to marry him."

She pointed at David, "Where did you find this person? He's spouting nonsense."

David awkwardly waved his hands, hoping she wouldn't offend the master anymore.

Ava pointed at me, "Then read Blair's fortune."

I was completely caught off guard. I'd never had my fortune told. My fate had been shattered since childhood. Marrying Levi and having children was already the best outcome possible.

"Her features are well-proportioned, joy shows on her brows. Good things will happen soon. You should be pregnant?"

The moment Master Moore spoke, I was shocked. If he'd read my palm or taken my pulse, he could have deduced the pregnancy. But to say I was pregnant just from looking at my face was simply amazing.

"Pregnant?"

David exclaimed. He must have thought it was ridiculous, that the master was really talking nonsense and making him lose face.

Ava laughed out loud, "You! You say she's pregnant, but her stomach is so flat. How could she be pregnant?"

I'd been eating little lately, with severe morning sickness, and had lost several pounds. My belly really didn't show the pregnancy.

Master Moore looked at me and smiled.

Only I could understand that smile. By not elaborating, he showed his good character - he didn't want to create trouble for me.

"Then tell me this - will the two of us be good friends?"

Ava really wouldn't give up. This question was pointless though. If she was going to pursue Levi, we definitely couldn't be friends.

The master closed his eyes, "All things are connected. Your friendship won't last long."

"Just leave! You really are full of nonsense!"

Ava was so angry she laughed. She turned to look at me, "Blair, he says we won't be friends. Don't you think that's ridiculous?"

I really didn't know what to say. I didn't want to deceive or hide things, but I really couldn't let her know I was Levi's wife.

"It seems I've disturbed you."

Master Moore stood up to leave, but David stopped him.

"Master Moore, don't mind her. Everyone has their own opinions, right?"

Ava glared at him, "After all that, you still believe him?"

Elliot walked over to the master, extended his hand, and asked sincerely, "Master Moore, do you think my chance at love is coming soon?"

The master looked and said, "Not yet."

"Okay, I understand."

He looked thoughtful and went to the bathroom.

Ava stamped her foot in anger, "David, can you please send him away? This is such a buzzkill!"

"Ava, don't lose your temper. Master Moore has his reasons for what he says. You and Levi really haven't had much contact yet, so how could you possibly get married and have children?"

Master Moore stood up and bowed slightly, "David, we have a connection, but that doesn't mean I connect with your friends. I came today for you. Since you invited me, I wouldn't refuse. Now I must go. We'll meet again if fate allows."

As the master turned to leave, he glanced at me. I couldn't read the meaning in that look.

I was actually impressed. Just being able to tell I was pregnant was remarkable. I couldn't speak up for him because I couldn't reveal the truth.
