Chapter 146

Chapter 146

I only found out after Ava and Elliot left that they came to support a friend, and this friend's family was a new jewelry material supplier.

Ava's friend was named David Jones, who was also Elliot's classmate from when he studied abroad.

When he told me about their relationship, I was a bit surprised. This David seemed very honest and spoke politely and modestly.

So I chose their company without hesitation. For one thing, they were just starting out and their product quality was excellent. More importantly, the price was very reasonable. I could see the eagerness to expand their market in his eyes.

And our Heartstrings Jewelry was also in its early stages. Even though we'd been through a few years of experience, we were still relatively new.

Our partnership could be seen as mutual encouragement.

David took my contact information. He said he had some of his own views on design, and if there was a chance, we could exchange ideas.

Of course I was willing to learn things I wasn't good at. While it's good to stick to my own designs, my work ultimately has to face the market, so I should listen to others' opinions more.

Having found the materials I liked, I was very happy the whole afternoon.

In the evening, when I got home, before I even got out of the car, Nola called.

Looking at our little yard through the car window, I felt very peaceful.

"Blair, I just found out that female CEO is going to work at the Morgan Group!" Nola's shocked voice made me jump.

"Don't get excited, it's no big deal."

"No, aren't you worried? I'm worried for you. Levi has way too many admirers."

I drew circles on the car window. "Maybe he thinks they're good admirers."

"Stop joking around. You need to contact Levi. It's been so many days, you two need to communicate."

Hearing her anxious tone, I forced a smile.

"I'm doing fine now, don't worry."

Nola seemed to pull John over. I heard her grabbing at something.

"If you don't want to contact him first, why don't we have John talk to him."

"No, no."

I took a deep breath. "Him contacting is the same as me contacting."

"But you can't just keep dragging this out. Ava is already preparing to marry Levi. If it weren't for John's friend coming to our house to gossip about this, I still wouldn't know."

This matter had already reached Nola's ears through John's friend's gossip. It seemed Ava was really good at creating buzz. With her being so proactive in confessing her feelings, Levi must know by now too.

If he knew about what she was doing and remained indifferent, then I could only wait and see. There was nothing I could do. If Levi didn't agree with Ava's actions, he would clarify things himself.

My heart gradually darkened. I wrote down Levi's name. If he got together with someone else, where would that leave me?

"Blair, you must try to stay positive. When Levi comes back, you two should have a good talk." Nola said helplessly. I knew she meant well.

"Mm."

"I'll hang up now. I need to take my medicine. Trying to have a baby is killing me."

"Mm, take care of yourself."

I gripped my phone tightly, looked up at the sky, my mind completely blank.

Life must go on. I couldn't let myself get depressed. That period of postpartum depression was too terrible. I couldn't drain myself like that again.

I tried hard to keep myself in good spirits, pushed open the car door, and walked toward home.

Indigo was standing at the door waiting for me. She came up and asked me a big question right away.

"Mrs. Morgan, are you pregnant?"

I made a gesture. "Shh, don't let them know."

"When I was cleaning the bathroom today, I suddenly remembered you haven't had your period in a long time." Indigo was always so observant. I knew I couldn't hide it for long.

"Yes, almost three months now."

Indigo asked anxiously, "Then why don't you tell Mr. Morgan? He's still angry with you and hasn't come home."

"He's not coming home probably because he doesn't want to be home."

Having spent so much time with Levi, I knew he wasn't a petty person.

"You need to rest now. I see you so tired every day. This isn't good for you or the baby."

"It's fine, no problem for now."

Indigo frowned. "What about the Morgan mansion? Should we tell them?"

"Not yet."

"Mrs. Morgan, you..."

Indigo was also frustrated. Keeping such good news to herself was frustrating.

If Aiden knew I was pregnant, and with twins no less, he would definitely be very happy.

"He'll definitely come back during the public holiday, and his birthday is coming up too. We'll talk about it then."

"Alright, I respect your decision, but you need to pay extra attention to your health. Call me immediately if anything happens."

"Okay."

It felt good to have someone who cared about me. With Indigo's company, I could get through this difficult time.

We had just gone inside when Faye pulled us over.

"Blair, Sophia just said that woman was at the company this afternoon saying she made a new friend."

Sophia nodded. "Yes, yes, she said her new friend is very good-looking."

"The thing is we don't know who she's talking about. We just heard her going on about it."

"Really don't know who would be friends with someone like her."

Faye was constantly complaining about Ava.

"The friend she's talking about is me."

"What?"

"Huh?"

The two of them stared at me wide-eyed, looking at me in disbelief.

"Blair, is it really you?"

I tossed my bag on the sofa and sat down lazily.

"We ran into each other today, and then she was very enthusiastic about wanting to be friends with me."

Faye hugged my arm and looked at me seriously. "You agreed?"

"How could I refuse?"

I smiled helplessly. "She was too enthusiastic. She even invited me to her house. I said I was busy with work and declined."

"She really is... I'm just amazed. How can that woman become friends with you? You're my brother's legitimate wife."

Sophia said quietly, "She doesn't know that."

"Hey!"

Faye suddenly laughed out loud. She raised her hand and dropped it again. "This is really too funny. I bet my brother doesn't even know you two have already met."

"What do you think her reaction would be if she found out you're my brother's wife?"

Faye held her stomach laughing, and I was infected by her laughter and laughed along.

This was indeed a situation that was both funny and absurd. If Ava knew I was Mrs. Morgan, she definitely wouldn't want to be friends with me anymore.

"She was talking about it so excitedly at the company. She said when there's a chance, she'll introduce her new friend to everyone, and organize a get-together to eat good food."

Sophia provided new material for laughter, making Faye laugh so hard she couldn't straighten up.

"Just imagine, if she introduces my sister-in-law to my brother, how spectacular would that scene be!"
