The bomb threat on the company created chaos. After my three week break, I decided to go back to work. I’m managing my father’s company and I completely stepped down from my mom’s company and gave the authority to Sara. Matt is now working in a hospital while Mason is helping Sara manage the company. He’s also taking care of the sunflower plantation and the hacienda that our family left to us. It’s not like I don’t want any connection with them. It’s just that I think they deserve the riches of the Foster family more than I deserve it. Besides, I already have my dad’s company and assets, I’m already content with what I have.
I bought ice coffee from the shop across from my company. My other hand was inside the pocket of my pants while walking. I’m wearing a maternity floral dress and on my neck was the lace of my company ID.
My phone beeped and I smiled after seeing Pierce’s name on the screen. He sent me a message and I laughed hard when I saw the photo he sent me. It was a photo of him, pouting while sitting on his swivel chair. He looked sad but I know that he’s just acting.
‘From Pierce, my handsome hubby
I’m sad. I told you I want to take a day off and spend this day with you‘
I shook my head and took a photo of myself. I sent it to him before I started walking again. I was about to cross the road when someone suddenly grabbed my arm. I was shocked and I accidentally spilled my coffee on my dress. Good thing it’s not the usual hot coffee I always buy.
My eyes widened when I saw a familiar woman in front of me. She lost weight. She has dark circles around her eyes and she’s glaring at me.
“Lexi…”
She smirked evilly. “You still remember me?”
My brow shot up as I stared at her blankly. “How can I forget the woman who’s stalking my husband like a mad dog?”
Her evil smile slowly faded and her eyes burned with anger. There was a truck coming and I figured what she’s going to do. I tried to run away but she grabbed my hair and pulled me back. I screamed and asked for help as she tried to push me to the road.
No! No! I’m pregnant!
My mind went blank. I could only think about saving myself to be able to save the baby inside me. Lexi used all her strength to push me to the road but since she looked unhealthy, one pulled from me and she forcefully let go of me. She screamed when she lost her balance and she was the one who got pulled to the road.
My eyes widened and I screamed when the truck hit her and she rolled on the road. I gasped as I stared at her body lying on the ground. The people watching us earlier started crowding Lexi. My throat went dry as I ran towards her. I cupped my mouth when I saw blood staining the road.

I kneeled beside her. She’s unconscious and it looks like she’s already fighting for her life.
“Call an ambulance, please,” I told the people around before I looked at Lexi again.
“Lexi…” I cupped her cheek. “Lexi…”
“I saw her trying to push the pregnant woman. It’s her fault.”
“Call an ambulance!”
“Is she dead?”
People are murmuring but I don’t care about them. I focused on Lexi as I tried to stop the bleeding on the side of her head by putting pressure on it with the help of my handkerchief. The ambulance came after a while. She was immediately given first aid before she was brought to the ambulance. The police immediately asked me about what happened after giving me a towel. I told them the truth and since there are witnesses around, it was proven that it was an accident.
I sighed as I stared at the blood on the road. A car abruptly stopped in front of me. Pierce got out of the car and rushed to me. He pulled me for a hug as he whispered. “Were you hurt?”
I shook my head and looked up at him. “Pierce, it’s Lexi…‘
He clenched his jaws and hugged me again. “I’m just glad that you’re okay.”
I sucked my breath and licked my bottom lip. “She tried to push me.”
I heard Pierce cursed under his breath and brushed my hair using his fingers. I squeezed my eyes closed and swallowed hard. Pierce pulled away from the hug again and took his coat off. He put it on my shoulder to cover me since my chest was wet from the ice coffee. He gave the towel back to the police before he carried me in his arms in a bridal way and brought me to his car.
“Where are we going?” I asked curiously.
“We need to get you checked. You said she tried to push you. Your body was forced.”
I didn’t feel any discomfort or what but I nodded at him. He got in the driver seat and started driving the car. I was silent the whole drive until we reached the hospital. Pierce immediately searched for my gyne after bringing me to the emergency room.
I’m still shocked with what happened. I didn’t know that Lexi would show up like that and would try to harm me and my baby. She’s not pregnant so she really lied about carrying Pierce’s child.
“Kelly!” Matt entered the emergency room. He’s wearing a white lab gown and I smiled when I saw him.
“Are you okay? What did your ob–gyne say?”
“I’m fine,” I answered. “My doctor said the baby’s safe.”
He squeezed his eyes closed and clenched his jaws before he looked at me again and caressed my hand. He glanced at Pierce standing beside me before he sighed.

“You should be careful Why did you even go out? You can just ask your secretary of your guard to buy you a coffee”
I smiled at him. “I want to buy it on my own. Besides, I’m fine
He groaned and shook his head. “You’re really so stubborn. You’re just like Emily and Mason
I smirked at him before I held Pierce’s hand. I stared at Matt after taking a deep sigh.
“How’s Lexi‘ She was brought to this hospital, right?”
He nodded. “She’s undergoing surgery since her injury is severe.”
I pressed my lips together. Pierce squeezed my hand. “Hey! It’s not your fault.”
1 looked at him. “I know. I just…couldn’t believe that this happened.”
Matt held my other hand, squeezing them which earned my attention. “I’ll make sure she’ll survive so you won’t feel guilty.”
Thank you, Matt.”
He nodded and kissed my forehead before he left, leaving me with Pierce. My husband stood in front of me and cupped my face, lifting it a little so our gazes will meet.
That day was a disaster but I survived it safely. True to Matt’s words, he made sure that Lexi would survive. I just heard from him that after the operation, she was sent to the ICU and after a week she will be sent to a private room for recovery.
Pierce also filed a case against her. I didn’t know he would do that. I just heard from Matt that after being transferred to the private room, Lexi was cuffed by the police and her hospital room was guarded by two policemen.
Pierce told me that he’s been wanting to put Lexi behind bars. For what she did to him and for what she did to me. His anger for her intensified after she tried to kill me and now he’s lost his cool.
It was one sunny morning when Pierce came to my company and brought me a chocolate ice cream. I was so happy when he did that and was even more happy when he showed me a small card. My heart raced inside my chest as if it’s gonna pop out of my chest.
‘A–A wedding invitation?” I gasped as I slowly looked up at him.
He smiled and rested his hands on the armrest of the couch where I’m sitting. He reached for my lips and kissed me passionately before he nodded.
“I told you I’m marrying you again after all the mess.”
I smiled as I felt my heart racing inside my chest. He was looking at me with so much affection and I know that I am looking at him like that too.
“Thank you….” I whispered as I lifted myself a little and reached for his lips,

I felt him smile against my lips. Our kisses started to deepen when the door suddenly swung open and I saw Yara’s abrupt pause. She immediately turned her back and left my office again which made Pierce chuckle and made my cheeks flushed. God! I forgot to remind Yara not to enter my office today.
A third wedding? Why not? I’d love to marry him for the third time in this lifetime.
“This is what we prepared before,” Pierce added and smiled again.
I nodded and smirked at him. “I’m so excited, Pierce. I can’t wait to marry you again.”
He wrapped his arms around my waist and I buried my face in his chest. I feel the contentment in my heart. I feel the happiness and I know that now that I have him and the people I love around me, I won’t ask for more anymore. This is the life I wanted and I will never trade this for wealthy because this is my riches, they are my greatest treasure.
