Chapter 32

“Don't do this to me Zeus!"

“Zeus!"

“I love you Zeus!"

My eyes jolted awake, staring at my ceiling. Another morning, another day, away from my mate. The only thing that hadn't changed was my vision. One where Green held my lifeless body in her arms, crying helplessly. I sat up on the edge of my bed, my head raging with a migraine while my room reeked of nothing but alcohol. I wondered how she was, if she were better off without me or was a mess like me.

I heaved a sigh and then replayed the whole vision again. In a strange way I could feel it coming. I knew this was no longer a nightmare or my fears taking its toll on me. It was a prophecy. I was going to die. My palms curled into a fist as my heart thumped like it was going to explode anytime soon. Fear began its powerful stride in me, and I couldn't help but wonder how and why this was happening. Perhaps it was a warning. Perhaps this vision of mine could be averted.

My door clicked open, but I didn't glance rather, I kept my focus on the floor.

“Zeus..." Peter sounded in a worried tone but I shrugged him off. I walked to my desk, grabbing the half-filled bottle of beer.

“I know I can't possibly understand the pain and agony you're going through but I also know drinking won't solve your problems."

He added but I downed my beer recklessly. With every gulp I took, Green's tears and her broken voice kept repeating in my head.

My palm curled again, perhaps this vision kept recurring because it could be averted. Maybe there was a way to change my fate. Besides, I might have left her but that didn't mean I want to die not see her so helpless and broken.

“Zeus..." Peter tried to retrieve the bottle off my hands but I shrugged him off again. This time, storming out of my room to my other room. Filled with my mother's Grimoire and others.

“Zeus what are you planning on doing now. I know it's something reckless." Peter pitched as he sauntered in too with an obvious frown. But I still ignored him regardless. My hands were busy fiddling with some of my mother's dangerous grimoires.

“The last time you chose one of those dangerous books, you almost got burnt alive by lightning remember." Peter toned worriedly again but then my fingers finally stopped on a book. I heaved a light sigh before placing it on my dusty small table.

“Zeus, listen to me. I believe you and Green will still get back together at one point or the other. But whatever spell you're planning to use," he pursed his lips as he stood at the opposite side of the table.

“It's suicidal."

I heaved another sigh before finally mustering the courage to look him in the eye. I didn't even know how to tell him I was going to die soon but my lips parted regardless.

“I had a vision,” I said, and his frown deepened.

“That I died, and Green was holding me in her arms. Crying." I mumbled while his eyes widened in horror. His body stiffened and silence reigned amongst us for minutes.

“Which is why I'm hoping to avert it with this spell." My voice broke the silence as I pointed to a page, but he didn't even look. His petrified status kept staring at me in disbelief.

“Peter..." I called with a tiny smile. "I'll be fine." I tried to assure but deep inside, my fears were haunting me.

“You'll be fine? You just told me you saw your death. What if you're not able to avert it? What if—” his voice trailed off. "What's the assurance this spell would save you?" He asked in a fearful tone. I heaved another sigh while my gaze fell on the old page. This was probably why I didn't want to tell him.

“It's a protection spell. It's almost like a resurrection spell which means that, just in case I die by any supernatural means, I'll come back to life in a few days or weeks." I explained but Peter's worries didn't diminish. He still kept rewarding me with skepticisms.

“And what if it isn't by supernatural means?"

I gulped down my saliva, unable to face him.

“I'll be fine." I muttered in oblivion.

“That word again. Zeus, this is something big!" He pitched. "You're taking this issue lightly-—”

“I'm not!" I cut him off with a sharp glare. "Do you think I would be here if I didn't care?" His eyes exclaimed for a brief moment before relapsing into worry. "I don't want to die Peter, neither do I want to see my mate in pain." I pursed my lips while my mind did its injustice replaying the scenery.

“Which is why I'm putting my hope in this spell, although it will make me terribly weak but it's the best solution to my problem." I added and he simply nodded. I heaved a sigh before focusing on the book.

I took another deep breath before deciding to chant the spell. My eyes morphed into bright blue and my palms glowed scarlet red.

“Erenus..." I began and instantly felt a large amount of my energy being tapped. "Erenus Elyxia Paritos, Erenus Elyxia Paritos, Erenus Elyxia Paritos..."

“Zeus, you're bleeding." Peter toned, pointing towards my nose but I continued regardless. And as each second came, I felt my power depleting.

“Zeus, stop..." Peter exclaimed again but I remained adamant. My vision was becoming hazy, I could barely feel my stance, any moment from now I knew I would pass out.

“Zeus!" Peter yelled again as he tried to reach me but then a loud explosion rocked below us.

“Shit!" Peter exclaimed while I collapsed to the floor. I could hear my members growling downstairs, my senses could pick the scent of the enemies. The scent of dragons, we were being attacked. In a strange way, I knew this was it. That strange aura of death.

“We're being attacked Zeus!" He screeched, tapping my barely conscious status. "I knew this spell was a bad idea! Not at a time like this! We need to leave Zeus!"

He tried to carry me, but I refused. I wasn't going to let him face harm's way.

“What are you doing? Only the moon goddess knows why the dragons are here, but they won't spare us. We need to leave now!" He yelled but my senses could already pick the screams of agony and blood of my members downstairs.

My teeth gritted from anger and irritation. My friends were dying and here I was helpless.

“Go." I whispered as I jerked away from his embrace, falling to the ground again.

“Are you crazy?!"

“Go!" I yelled.

“I'm not going to leave you here!"

“Do you want to face the same fate in the hands of those bloody dragons?!" I yelled. He gasped.

“I'll be fine." I tried to assure him with a smile, but he still remained hot headed. I closed my eyes, mustering the little energy left in me for a teleportation spell.

“No!" He exclaimed.

“Protect her." I whispered.

“What are you doing?! Zeus!" He screamed as his body were gradually fading before me.

“Zeus!" he yelled one last time before fading out entirely.

“I'll be fine..." I whispered to myself while blood dropped from my nose again. I heard their footsteps, and I could ascertain they weren't less than ten. The scent of smoke drew nearer every second, but I kept assuring myself.

“I'll be fine..." I whispered again and the door smashed open revealing hefty looking men with dark wings and eyes that glowed orange. Iciness and blood lust gracing them.

Impulse struggled to be let out, but my body no longer had the power too. I was already numb everywhere.

This was it, that strange feeling again of death again. It was definitely stronger, strong enough to convince me that my vision, was going to happen.

“I'll be fine..." I mumbled again with a tiny smile before finally yielding to the darkness beckoning unto me.
