Chapter 52 Chapter 52
Lily
We wake up to the soft light of the morning filtering through the curtains. After a quick shower, I choose a tropical outfit—an orange skirt and matching top. I pair it with a small handbag and my sunglasses. Sebastian steps out, looking effortlessly handsome in white pants, a black polo, and white shoes. I can’t help but stare; he’s impossible not to notice.
He takes the car, and we drive north across the island. The wind in my hair, the sun warming my skin—it already feels like paradise. We stop at a small café by the beach in Trou aux Biches. I order crepes with Nutella and some samosas, while Sebastian goes for bread and gato pima, a local fritter.
We sit at a table by the water, the waves lapping close to the shore. I talk about my next book, flipping through my diary to jot down ideas.
“You’re always writing,” he teases, sipping his coffee.
“I have to capture the inspiration when it comes,” I say with a smile. “Mauritius is giving me so many ideas. Maybe some of these notes will end up in my book.”
He grins, resting his hand over mine. “I can’t wait to read it. I’m sure your characters are as beautiful as you.”
I laugh, blushing lightly, and the conversation drifts to our future—dreams of a house, maybe kids one day, and little adventures we want to take together. The world feels simple and bright when it’s just us.
After breakfast, Sebastian drives us to Grand Bay. We sit by the beach, the sun shining directly overhead, and eat a pineapple and mango salad. Boats float lazily in the shimmering water, and I watch the sunlight sparkle across the waves.
As we explore the northern coast, we stop at food stalls. I devour dholl puri and sip fresh coconut water, the straw cool against my lips. Sebastian watches me eat with a soft smile, and I can’t resist teasing him.
“You’re staring again,” I say.
“I’m just enjoying the view,” he says with a wink, and I laugh.
Back in Belle Mare, Sebastian turns to me with a mysterious smile. “I have a surprise for you,” he says.
I raise an eyebrow, curious. “What is it?”
He only grins and tells me to change into my bikini. I slip into a yellow one, while he wears his swimming trunks. A speedboat waits for us, and the skipper leads us across the turquoise waters to a platform of undersea walk in the middle of the sea.
“How do you like the surprise?” he asks, his eyes sparkling.
“I love it, Sebastian!” I exclaim, practically bouncing in excitement.
The skipper fits us with huge underwater helmets, and we step below the surface. Hand in hand, we walk under the sea. Fishes swim gracefully around us, and vibrant corals rise from the ocean floor. The water is alive with color, and I feel like I’ve stepped into a dream.
Suddenly, Sebastian reaches into his pocket. My heart skips a beat as he carefully takes out a small box. He opens it, revealing a delicate diamond ring. Gently, he slides it onto my finger. I can’t contain myself—I squeeze his hand instead of kissing him, overwhelmed with emotion.
He smiles, eyes shining, and whispers, “You’re mine, Lily.” He says through the helmet and I read his lips
I squeeze back, my heart full. “And you’re mine, Sebastian.”
The ocean surrounds us, endless and beautiful, but in that moment, it’s just the two of us—together, free, and perfectly happy. This moment feels like something out of a novel. Back on the boat, I can’t help myself—I lean in and kiss him.
“What’s the ring for?” I ask, tracing the diamond with my finger.
“It’s a honeymoon gift, baby,” he says with a small, proud smile.
I grin, feeling warmth bubble in my chest.
Once we reach the beach, we dive into the water and splash each other playfully. The sun warms our skin as we swim, then lie side by side on the sand, sunbathing and laughing. Sebastian keeps joking about everything—the way I flail in the water, the way I try to eat a coconut without spilling it. I feel lighter than I have in years, just enjoying this simple, perfect happiness with him.
Later, we return to the hotel. I collapse on the bed, exhausted. Just as I close my eyes, a wave of nausea hits. I bolt to the bathroom, Sebastian right behind me. He gently holds back my hair as I vomit.
“Food poisoning?” he asks, his voice full of concern.
I rinse my mouth and wash my face, feeling a bit embarrassed. “Maybe… I had too much junk food today,” I mutter.
He pulls me into a gentle hug, brushing a damp strand of hair from my face. “Don’t worry, angel. I’ll take care of you,” he whispers.
Sebastian helps me back to the bed after I wash my face. I feel a little weak, but just having him near makes me feel safe.
“Let’s order some room service,” he says softly, brushing a strand of hair from my face. “Something light for you.”
I nod, too tired to argue. Sebastian picks up the phone and orders some fresh fruit, coconut water, and a small salad. He tells them to bring it up quickly. While we wait, he sits beside me on the bed and gently massages my shoulders.
“You really scared me a little, angel,” he murmurs. “I hate seeing you like this.”
“I’m okay now,” I say, leaning into him. “Thanks for being here.”
The food arrives quickly. He sets it on the small table by the bed and cuts up some fruit for me, feeding me little bites. I feel a wave of gratitude—and love—washing over me.
Once I eat, he pulls me closer. “You need rest… but I want to stay with you.” His hand slides to mine, holding it gently. I glance up at him and see the softness in his eyes, a side I never see when he’s working or angry.
He leans in slowly, and I tilt my head. Our lips meet in a tender kiss at first, soft and slow. But then he deepens it, wrapping his arms around me, pressing his body against mine. My hands slide over his chest, feeling the warmth of his skin through the shirt.
He moves over me on the bed, brushing my hair away from my face. “You’re so beautiful, Lily,” he whispers between kisses. “I love every inch of you.”
I shiver under his touch, heart racing. His hands explore my body, gentle at first, then more confident. I feel safe and desired at the same time, and all the fear from earlier melts away.
He takes his time, kissing me from my lips down my neck, softly nipping and making me gasp. I wrap my arms around his neck, pulling him closer. Every touch, every kiss feels like he’s telling me without words that he’s mine and I’m his.
His lips meet mine again, slower this time, savoring the moment. I feel him nudge my body gently, positioning me under him. The closeness, the warmth of his body pressing against mine, makes my pulse race. I feel an ache of desire I can’t ignore.
“Lily… you’re all mine,” he murmurs, his voice low and husky. I nod, breathless, letting him guide me. Every kiss, every caress, builds a connection that feels deeper than before.
I respond instinctively, moving closer, wrapping my legs around him slightly. His hands find my waist, holding me firm yet gentle. He kisses me again, slow and intimate, like he wants to memorize every moment.
I can feel the tension between us, soft moans escaping both of us as our bodies move closer. The world outside doesn’t exist anymore, only the warmth, the kisses, the connection.
He pauses for a moment to look into my eyes, his fingers tracing my jawline. “Are you okay, angel?”
“I’ve never been better,” I whisper back, feeling a rush of emotion and desire.
Slowly, deliberately, he lowers himself on top of me again. Our bodies press together, every touch electric. I gasp softly as he kisses me deeply, our breaths mingling. He murmurs my name, over and over, and I feel completely consumed by him.
Time seems to stop. We move together, exploring each other with gentle curiosity, savoring every sensation. His hands, his lips, his warmth, everything feels perfect.
Eventually, we pause, resting against each other, tangled in the sheets. I bury my face in his chest, feeling his heartbeat against mine. He strokes my hair softly, whispering, “You’re perfect, Lily. Always mine, always safe with me.”
I close my eyes, feeling the love and trust between us, and finally allow myself to relax completely.
