Chapter 33: Bonus Chapter — Boss

This is an alternate universe where Alex is a normal businessman and Eva is one of his employees.

"Eva, I told you to bring the file of the construction and why is it not on my table?" Alex said in a stern voice. One thing he hates as much as he loves banana milk is slacking off on the work.

"Sir, but—

"Who said you can talk back? Just bring the file right now."

"Couldn't you say that I have already gone through the file?" He demanded, again with a harsh and cold tone.

"I am sorry sir." Eva just sighed after she went to Alex's office. 'What a stupid man.' She thought to herself.

Eva worked for the GTECH company, they would take the responsibility of construction and also was also a modelling agency. It paid her fair enough well it paid her high enough.

But the problem was her boss. He was workaholic but he also expected everyone to be the same. Work, work, work until you die. Is that even possible?

He was cold but as time went by, he became colder and harsher.

Sometimes he would act just like that one grumpy old man who would be in everyone's neighbourhood just to scold the children off and create a drama out of a small scene.

Like literally who fires an employee who was late five seconds. For god’s sake, five seconds!! And worst he did not even consider the fact that it was raining so hard, and it was hard to drive through it.

'Why am I even thinking about him at a bar with a drink on my hand?' Eva sighed to herself as she chugged down another shot of her drink. The music was loud, and the atmosphere seemed too giddy for someone like Jeon Jungkook to enter the bar.

When Alex spotted a certain someone, he walked towards her. He tapped her shoulder while she turned back, during that time she was already a little tipsy.... nah she was totally drunk and wasted.

"Who a-are you?" Eva said, hiccupping. She narrowed her eyes at Alex like he was a really suspicious guy and…definitely not her boss.

"You called me to this place just to ask me that? I am your boss... Alex Garner." He said while eyeing the girl in front of him who looked like she is gonna pass out any moment now. 

"Ptff, you think I will trust a stranger. Listen you may look somewhat like him, but he is hotter than you. I mean look at you who comes to a bar with bed hair especially on Friday. Like come on dude get some life." 

She patted his shoulders and Alex just froze not because she pitied him, but she called him hot. 'I am totally gonna fire her when she gets sober.' He thought to himself smirking and taking out his phone.

He put the camera in the recording. "So, what else do you think about your boss?" Alex inquired with a devilish grin on his face.

"Why would I tell my boss to a stranger? But you know what you gotta listen to this anyways. He is such a stupid man like he does not even remember where he kept his car keys when its literally in front of his eyes and calls me to search it for him. And you know what he is so dense that... that he does not realise that I like him. Arhg! He should get some love classes." Eva said while gulping down another glass of the bitter and rough liquid that was burning down her throat.

"That's harsh. Plus, he is really stupid so why don't you just tell him that you like him?" Alex asked, now being more curious about what she has to say.

"Didn't you hear it right? He is super dense even if I said it out loud, he would be like what does that have to do with me? But don't you dare call him stupid. If he was really stupid than he would not have been able to start his own business and totally nail it." Eva said, glaring at her so-called stranger.

"Okay, I won't calm down lady. So, what if he said that all the things that he had done is to get your attention and be on your mind 24/7 just like now?" Alex said, raising his one eyebrow with a playful smile on his face.

"Aww that would be great so great that I would kiss him." Eva said, shaking her head to show her excitement. 

"Okay, here's that last question: what do you have to say to him?" 

"I like you dumb dumb boss." And Jungkook could swear that his heart skipped a beat when he heard that nickname and the way she told it. 'I love you too.' He thought to himself while stopping the recording and spending the rest of the night until Eva passed out because of how drunk she was and finally dropping her off to her apartment. And he may or may not have given her a forehead kiss before leaving. 

"Eva, Mr. Garner is calling you and trust me he is not in a good mood. I don't know what you did but good luck." Her co-worker, Jass told her right after she set foot in her office. 

Eva was anxious, scared and god knows what other kinds of things she was feeling when she heard he was not in a good mood. But she went anyway because she needs money and doesn't wanna get fired.

She entered his office when a 'Come in' was heard. Her heart was beating so fast that it could explode at any time soon. "Sir, you called me?" Eva asked with a nervous smile on her face because she knew she called him but does not remember what she told him.

"Oh yes, Ms. Maggot. Have a seat." Alex said with an internal smirk.

"So yeah, all the things. Sorry all the annoying things I have done to you is just because I wanted your attention. So where is my kiss?" Alex said, intertwining his fingers as he moved a little forward from his chair now with a visible smirk. 

"I-I didn't get it?" Eva had sweat beads forming on her forehead. "You are fired." Alex announced, standing up from his seat and Eva followed just with her wide eyes. She was speechless. How could he fire her?

"Sir, I know I was five seconds late, but that is not a valid reason to fire me." Eva said it like a rap because she said it in one breath and that's all.

"You are mistaken here. I am not firing you because of that, it's because of this." Alex said, playing the video and Eva's soul left her body.

"I-I am s-sorry for this?" Eva said with a heavy breathing.

"Then why?" Eva said avoiding eye contact and his towering, tall figure was not helping at all. 

Alex was really close to Eva, so close that he could not help but caress Eva's right cheek. He whispered, "Because I cannot let a princess like my future wife work," which sent chills down Eva's body.
