Chapter 17: A Tip Off

\[Lux’s POV\]

“Yes, Lux, that’s it. Just like that.”

Cindy’s voice rings out around me, mixing with the sound of our fucking and pissing me off because it’s so fucking distracting.

“Didn’t I tell you not to make a sound?” I growl, reaching down and grabbing her mouth. “Or did you forget?”

“Mmmphn mmmphn.” She moans, obediently shutting that pretty little mouth of hers so that I can continue fucking her from behind like the bitch she is.

“That’s a good girl.” I murmur, releasing her mouth and grabbing her ponytail so I can pull, making her arch her back more for me so I can hit her deepest spots. “Just like that, open these beautiful thighs for me.”

Nodding, she does as I say, allowing me the perfect access to her pussy, which I continue to attack until a knock sounds on my door.

“Go away!” I hiss, my frustration growing due to the interruptions that seem to keep appearing. “I’m busy.”

“Young master,” Gabrielle, my father’s right-hand man, calls from the other side. “Your father wishes to speak with you.”

“Now?” I hiss, pulling out of Cindy so I can cum all over her sweat and scratch-covered back. “He really has some timing.”

Sighing in annoyance, I get up, leaving Cindy panting and shaking on my bed while I head to the bathroom and quickly wash up. Once I’m finished, I pull on a pair of pants and a shirt and then head back into my room.

“You,” I snap, finding Cindy still in the same place I left her. “You better not be here when I return.”

“Awe,” she pouts, giving me a seductive look. “How can you be so mean to your fiancé?”

Fiance. I hated that fucking word, but if I wanted to take over as alpha, I needed to do what it was that my father wanted of me. And right now, he wanted me to marry Cindy and make me her luna so that we could gain the help of the Blue Moon pack, which was second in strength to our own.

Of course, I had no intention of getting myself mixed up in anything serious with Cindy, but she already knew that, and because she agreed to not hound me about what I do in my private life, I agreed to continue to allow her to stay beside me.

“Don’t make me repeat myself.” I say now, grabbing the door and pulling it open. “You know the rules.”

“Yeah, yeah,” Cindy sighs, rolling over lazily and spreading her legs so that I have the perfect view of her pussy. “You and your rules.”

Rolling my eyes, I head out of the room and then down the hall toward my father’s office, where I’m certain that he is waiting for me, and when I enter, I find him sitting behind his desk with a look of annoyance on his face.

“Something happen?” I ask, heading toward the white plush couch that sits along his wall and collapsing on it. “You look like you’re ready to kill someone.”

“What took you so long?” He asks, ignoring my question entirely. “I called for you over thirty minutes ago.”

“I was busy,” I shrug, sprawling out on the couch and getting comfy. “I don’t wait around all day for you to call me. I’m not Lucian.”

At my words, a growl of warning escapes my father, but I know that he won’t do anything to me. How can he when I was his only rightful heir? If he so much as did anything to hinder me from taking over, then Lucian would be next in line.

“Now, why did you call me?”

As I speak, I turn my gaze to my father’s and then wait while he stares at me, his gaze unreadable, his expression flat, while his aura trickles around him.

“Do you want to tell me what this is?” He asks, holding up a sheet of paper and waving it in the air.

“Paper,” I respond immediately. “It is a thing that you write on and…”

“Don’t try to play coy, boy!” He growls, getting up and storming toward me. “Why don’t you read what is written on it first?”

Sighing, I take the sheet from him and then begin to scan the contents while my irritation from earlier begins to return.

“Well, I’ll be.” I chuckle, sitting up and crumpling the paper. “It looks like my dear brother may be onto me.”

“Are you admitting that what is written here is correct?” My father demands. “How could you do something so fucking…”

“It’s fine.” I say, giving him a smile. “It’s not like there’s anything truly connecting me to that place. And if anyone so much as says a word about my connection to it, then I’ll take them down with me due to their connections as well.”

And I’ll be sure to take down whoever hinted at it to Lucian as well. I think silently, suddenly remembering the new woman that he brought home. I was almost certain that he must have bought her from there, which means that he was investigating me, but wouldn’t that just put him in the line of fire too since he was attending such things?

“What do you plan to do to stop whoever this is from blabbing?” My father demands as the silence grows around us. “Did you see how much they were demanding to remain silent?”

“Isn’t it easy?” I chuckle. “We agree to meet and give them the money.”

Of course, I had no intention of actually paying. I just needed to get the bastard near me, and then I would silence them forever. And once that was done, I would make sure to deal with my dear brother as well.

“Do what you will,” my father sighs, heading back to his desk. “Just make sure not to do anything that will ruin us before you take over and marry Cindy, do you understand?”

“I know.” I huff. “How could I possibly ruin your brilliant plan to join our packs in holy matrimony?”

“As long as you understand.” My father huffs, collapsing in his chair and leaning back. “You can leave now,” he continues, waving a dismissive hand. “Go and clean up your damned mess.”

“Yes, sir.” I respond, rising to my feet and shoving the balled-up paper I still hold in my pocket. “I’ll get on it, but tell me before I leave. About how long will my dear brother be gone?”

“Hopefully forever,” my father responds.

Raising a brow, I stare at him, taking in the slight glint of deviousness in his eyes.

“Have you planned for an accident?” I ask, unable to keep my curiosity at bay.

“That’s none of your concern.” He says. “Just worry about you, and I’ll worry about other things.”

"Fair enough." I yawn, heading out of his office. "You do that and I," I continue, turning in the direction of the packhouses exit. "Will go and pay my brother's new toy a visit."
