Chapter 50
Chapter 50
Six Months Later…
Willa
After the night we found my family and Luca’s death, there was so much to be done. Luca’s death didn’t stop the plans he had right away. We first had to spread the word to his allies that they had the choice to either stop their pursuit of us or we would end them one at a time. Ruthless, maybe, but I wasn’t about to let any threat to my family continue. My mother had been a strong leader for many years but always tried for peace. Not me.
What can I say, my guys are a bad influence on me. They’re ruthless when it comes to loyalty and protecting their family. Which is what we were now, a huge family. My dads did not like my guys in the beginning. There were lots of snide comments and glares, but eventually they were able to tolerate the guys. There is a mutual acceptance, but my dads have made it clear that they will kill any of my guys if they ever hurt me. You know, typical dad threats.
Slowly, we were able to get things in order. Unfortunately, many of Luca’s men weren’t willing to swear their loyalty to us, and Sebastian made sure they wouldn’t be able to come after us again. There is a lot of blood on our hands, but we don’t lose any sleep over it. We protect our family no matter what, and I will never let anything happen to them again.
My mom decided to step down from both her public service and everything else. After what happened, she didn’t want to waste time on anything other than family. My dads booked a long vacation for all of them to get away and rest after the ordeal they went through. They invited me and the guys, but we had too much to do. The guys wanted me to take on the role of leadership for all their organizations, but I decided against that.
I might be my mother’s daughter, but I don’t want to carry the burden of leader alone. My guys are going to stand beside me in everything, and that’s how I want it. Maxim, Lan, and I took over for our parents, and Sebastian pulled the Italian families together. He didn’t want the power his father did and worked out a way for the families to handle their own families again. We had enough going on as it was.
We decided too that we should go back to college. Even with the lives we had, we needed to have real-world jobs, and that meant having training and degrees. Unlike my guys, who decided to continue to study business and finance, I decided to lean toward the arts. Luke decided against attending classes and instead focused on security. He took it upon himself to train all the men responsible for security, not only for us but for my family as well. His trust wasn’t easy to earn, which made the screening process a whole lot easier.
The dynamics between the guys haven’t changed much. They are costly threatening each other with bodily harm or worse, even going to war between their families. Nothing has come from their threats, but its a regular occurrence thanks to me threatening to kick their asses myself if they don’t behave. Also, they are slightly obsessed and love me, so they wouldn’t actually hurt each other because they know it would hurt me.
After things calmed down, Lan planned a random trip to this small tropical island I’d never heard of because where they allow women to marry multiple men. He wasn’t satisfied with Maxim being my only husband. I’m pretty sure our marriage would be accepted anywhere, but it was enough to make him and the others happy. I now wear a stack of dainty multi-stone rings on my ring finger. One from each of the guys. They wore silver bands with my name engraved on the inside. They even went one step further and tattooed my name on their chests just above their hearts. It’s a silly sentiment, but sweet. I didn’t need them to get a tattoo to know they were mine, but they wanted to make sure everyone knew without a doubt that they belonged to me. There had been a situation that it has came in handy for though. We had attended a party at a friend of theirs house and the guys decided to take a dip in the pool. All eyes were on them and on my name forever painted on their chests. Luke had gotten his all across his chest just to piss the others off, and I loved it. I may have shown my gratitude that entire night after he came home and showed me.
Anyway, one of the girls at the party were a little bold and tried to lure Maxim, but he held his hand up in their faces to show them his wedding ring. “I’m a married man!” He’d say.
I couldn’t help the smirk on my face every time I watch the guys put those girls in their place.
Class has just ended, and I’ve decided to head home and rest before I meet my mom for dinner later. After what happened, I couldn't bear to stay upset at her, no matter the reason. Plus, she has some big news to tell me today, and I think I know what it is. My dads have been more protective of her than normal, which tells me everything I need to know.
It’s a subject the guys have brought up a few times, but I told them that I wanted to accomplish a few more things before I start popping out babies. It hasn’t stopped them from arguing about who was going to impregnate me first. Anytime that subject comes up, I walk out of the room. No point in fighting them on it. They could flip a coin for all I care, we’ll love any babies we have, no matter who fathers them. We’ve all enjoyed practicing, though. Besides, practice makes perfect!
When I get home that we pick out just off campus, I notice all the guys' cars are there. I walk in and find them all sitting in the living room waiting for me.
“Uh, what’s going on?” I ask suspiciously.
Maxim smiles that smile that always makes my stomach flip. “It’s time, wifey.”
“Time for what?” I ask, narrowing my eyes at him.
They’re scheming, and that’s never good for me.
“It’s time for that thing I’ve been promising you.” He wiggles his eyebrows and my throat gets tight.
“You can’t be serious! We already said it would be a bad idea.” I remind him. “And I have to see my phone in a couple of hours! We can’t do this now!”
“Too late, princess.” Luke storms toward me, and I start to back away.
“Luke! We can’t do this right now!” He ignores my protests and picks me up, throwing me over his shoulder.
“Party time, baby!” Maxim whooped as we made our way upstairs to my room.
That plan about waiting for kids is about to go up in flames.
The End
