Chapter 14

Someone shook me awake making me yawn, "Why were you sleeping here?" I heard Ashton ask and I rubbed my eyes, "I fell asleep here after drinking water" I mumbled while closing my eyes to sleep again.

I felt myself being carried so I snuggled into the warmth. 

I felt myself being placed on a bed so I just let myself fall asleep.

Waking up I sat up and removed the covers from me, I went into the bathroom and took a warm shower, after I brushed my teeth and wrapped a fluffy towel around my body.

I went into the walk-in-closet, locking it from the inside and changed into my underwear, I picked a white maxi skirt, black wedges and a red t-shirt. 

Putting my hair in an elegant bun, some strands fell from the bun but I just let them be. I looked around the walk-in-closet for my cloak until I found it somewhere at the back of the closet. 

Well now I know that there's no narnia there.

Putting my red cloak on, I went to the bathroom to check my outfit at the full body sized mirror.

Smiling at my reflection I got out of the bathroom and went out to Hayley's room to thank her again for aiding my left foot.

Knocking on her door I pressed my ear againts her door, "Hayley?" I called, but there was no reply. Knocking again louder she didn't open the door so I did it by myself. 

Her room is empty, her bed is made and her closet's door is closed, I furrowed my eyebrows , she wouldn't have left, would she? 

Going down to the living room, it was also empty.

Kitchen-Empty Dining-Empty Ashton's Office-Empty Back Yard-Empty Bathrooms-Empty 

Front Yard- Not really empty, some people are there but no Hayley.

I went to the living room and sat on the couch sighing, Where is Hayley? Also where is Ashton? I woke up and he wasn't in bed with me.

I pouted and crossed my arms , they left me alone here.

That means... I can visit Jordan, grinning happily I stood up from the couch, running up to the bedroom to get the key in my underwear drawer.

When I went down back to the basement's door, I opened it and skipped down happily. It means I can talk to Jordan longer, when I walked towards his cell, I noticed the cell door is open and he wasn't in his cell.

"You're looking for the pale dude, right?" a raspy voice asks making me spin around to the cell infront of Jordan's "Yes, yes I am" I tell the guy while furrowing my eyebrows and narrow my eyes, trying to find the guy's body in the cell.

"He's gone, the Alpha took him, saying something about letting him go or die" the voice chuckles.

Ashton let Jordan go, like what he promised. But I didn't even get to say goodbye to him, I thought sad.

"Thanks" I mumbled while walking towards the stair case and going up and locking the basement's door.

Well, then I should give back the basement door's key. I thought while walking up to Ashton's office, sneaking in I tip-toe to his desk, putting it back in the drawer I found it.

Steping back from the desk, I sigh. At least no one suspected me "Jessica?" Someone called making me spin around wide-eyed "What are you doing here?" Hayley asked while tucking a strand behind her ear.

"I-I was checking if anyone is here, I woke up and everyone was gone" I told her while placing my hands behind my back. "Oh" she mumbled while stepping in, I noticed that she's wearing worn-out jeans with black sneakers and a green statement shirt saying "I love the people who hate me".

 "Where were you?" I ask her and she visibly stiffens "I-I was... --" she gets cut off when Ashton came in "She was with me" I hummed "Then where were you two?" I ask curiously making Ashton sweat "We went to buy groceries" Hayley suddenly exclaimed.

I nodded, and walked towards the door "I'm going to my room" I muttered and went straight to the bedroom.

I know that Hayley and Ashton's lying, but why?

I sighed sitting down on the bed, while crossing my arms.

I need time to think, but where? 

The sound proof attic.

I happily thought while standing up from the bed. When I come to the bedroom I always sit on the bed and thought of leaving again, I'm messed up ,aren't I? 

I went towards the end of the hall where a short rope from the ceiling is hanging, I stood on my tippy-toes and reached up for the rope, pulling it down, revealing a sliding ladder.

Looking at Ashton's office where I know where they are I climb up and pull the door up. I looked around the dark attic and stood up from my kneeling figure.

I put my arms in front of me and searched for the light switch, where is it? 

I hit a couple of boxes but I ignored the loud thump they made. When I found the light switch I flicked it on and looked around the attic.

I sighed sitting down on the dusty floor, they're lying to me again, I thought pouting. 

But I'm ‘gonna find out why, I stood up from the floor and snooped into a box, finding photo albums.

When I searched through them I found baby pictures of Ashton and Hayley, laughing at some silly ones, I even found their old teddy bears, clothes and toys.

I searched through another box finding skirts, t-shirts, blouses, shoes and accessories. 

But I'm not sure it's Hayley's it's girlier for her taste. Whose clothes are these? 

I heard a silent creak but ignored it, I rummaged through the box to find cologne, notebooks and picture frames without the pictures, odd.

"What are you doing?" Hayley's voice asked, making me close the box. What is with her and always catching me?

"I’m looking through your baby stuff and I found some stuff here" I gestured with my hand to the box. "You can't touch that" Hayley said angrily while snatching the box with girly stuff and taking a few steps back.

"Go down, Ashton's looking for you" Hayley mumbled while walking towards a huge picture frame that's covered with a white blanket, like stepping in front of it to block my view.

Now it makes me curious about the large picture frame.

I went down and to Ashton's office, walking in without knocking. His elbow is on he desk and his chin on his palm.

"You called?" I asked while advancing towards his desk, he glanced towards me and smiled, "Yes, I-I followed my promise, I let him go" Ashton informed me and I nodded "I know" I mumbled while sitting down on the chair in front of his desk.

"You know?" he asks confused and I nodded again, "A prisoner told me, When I went down to Jordan's cell".

I glanced at him briefly to see him turning red with anger "Why did you go down there?! and how did you unlock the basement's door?!" he yelled while slamming his fist down the table, making me flinch.

Well, I have to confess, it's now or never. "I found the key in your drawer, and I just have to visit Jordan" I sighed while placing my sweaty hands on my lap.

"It's dangerous! A prisoner could have break out of their cells and attacked you!" Ashton yelled at me making me angry.

I stood up from my seat and slammed my hands on his desk "I understand your angry! but you don't have to yell at me! I'm not deaf!" 

Ashton sighed and sat back, massaging his forehead. 

"Go back to the bedroom, I don't want to talk about it anymore" he ordered and I huffed, stomping out of his office and slamming the door on my way out.

Okay, I sound like a spoilt brat, but I'm not. He's getting angry at me but he doesn't have to yell, like I said I'm not deaf.

I sighed frustrated, why am I always not allowed? at the attic, the basement, what's next? The mall?! 

 I grumbled while walking towards the living room and sitting on the couch next to Hayley "What got your panties in twist?" Hayley asked while flicking trough the channels. 

"Nothing" I mumbled crossing my arms, Hayley nodded "Okay, but I don't believe you"

I rolled my eyes and stole the remote from her, changing it to my favorite show. Hayley placed her head on my shoulder. 

She seems off.

"Why are you sad?" I ask while glancing at her and the tv, she sighed "Nothing don't mind me" 

translation: There's something, please squeeze the information out of me I pulled away from her and held on to both of her shoulders "Tell me, what's wrong?" I ask her, while she shook her head.

She looked at me, trying to fight her tears until it all fell down. I hugged her, and she hugged back. I didn't know why she's like this but I'll still comfort her.
