Chapter 10: Your Father Killed My Uncle
Chapter 10: Your Father Killed My Uncle
Romano
I smiled idiotically as I walked into the house, throughout the drive back here, I couldn't stop thinking about Sophie. Her kisses were intoxicating and it had me thinking how skilled she was in that department. And the way her pussy clenched around my dick, it was pure bliss. She felt like heaven on earth and I couldn't wait to have her again. She was perfect, she is perfect for me and has everything I had wanted in a woman. I shook my head and chuckled as I walked into the lounge, my mind was filled with the thought of her and it took me a second to realize the horrific sight before me. My smile dropped instantly and my foot came to an abrupt halt.
“Romano!” My father boomed when he sauntered towards me after realizing my presence in the room.
I blinked a few times before my eyes trained on him as he was standing in front of me and was shaking. His eyes were blood-shot red as rage filled his voice and I felt a cold shiver run along my spine as I glanced over his shoulder to stare directly at uncle Luke Admas bloodied dead body on our floor. I gulped heavily before I looked at my father who was on the edge of breaking apart.
“Do you see this? Do you see what is happening!” He yelled as he pointed at the dead body.
I watched his body once again and noticed how my mother was sitting on the couch with my Admass wife, Caro who was crying uncomfortably.
Adams and Caro were like family to us, they have been in my life ever since the day I was born. They work with the Velkov as they play a huge part in our orphanage. My parents considered them as their own, so growing up I was thought to call them my uncle and aunt. To see his dead body in our house and watch his wife crying uncontrollably like this made my heart fall apart. I feel every piece of my heart crippled apart when I finally realized that uncle Adams was not going to come back to us, that he finally had met his death. A tear rolo out of my eyes when I snapped out of my daze and felt my father's rough hand on me.
“Are you listening to me!” He yelled, he grabbed my arms and began to rattle me.
“Who did this?” I asked.
He scowled at me before he pulled away and ran his hand through his hair. Caro's cries were filling the whole house as she was calling for her husband and my body was beginning to itch. I was in dire need to know who the fuck had done this. Suddenly, I saw red. I wanted to do this for my aunt and for my own family's sake because I understood how much Adams meant to us. He wasn't blood but he was something to us.
“Who do you think did this, son?” He bellowed as he glared at me.
Throughout the years my father worked as the mafia Don, not at once did he react like this to a death of a member. There were multiple cases where one or a few of our men would turn up dead on our porch but it never affected him like this because he understood that working in the mafia results in this. Anyway, considering how dangerous this all is, each human being that agreed to work in the mafia took the oath and knew that their lives were at some risk everyday but did that matter to them? No.
I never felt bereavement like this because father and I made sure that if anyone did die, it wasn't a member of the family. I never felt the type of rage or the desire to kill until today but in this case, I felt and read everything clearly. Just by reading my father's facial expressions, I knew who did this.
“Gabriel,” he growled before he grabbed the nearest thing right and hurled it across the room, only breaking it into a million pieces.
Now that it was an oath to avenge his death, I felt a burning sensation in my stomach. The cause of the burning sensation was Sophie.
Sophie pov
I lean against the wall as I lazily hold the picnic basket while I wait for Romano. It has been thirty minutes since I arrived and he was not here yet and I was beginning to become anxious the more time that passed because I feared that I would get caught. I bit my lip as I pulled my phone out of my pocket to check for any texts from him, maybe he had to cancel and I was unaware of it. Just as I pulled myself away from the wall, I glanced to my left to finally see him. His silhouette appeared when he walked out of the shade, leaving the sun shining brightly in his face.
My heart quickened at the mere sight of him, he is breathtakingly gorgeous. He was wearing a pair of black slacks with a blue shirt, half his sleeves were rolled up while his hair was a complete mess. I scrutinized his whole appearance and couldn't help but feel butterflies spread across my entire stomach. I smiled at him as I approached him, however, as I reached closer to him, that smile soon dropped. He frowned at me with his tired eyes, his whole demeanor was ominous and I was beginning to become worried.
While I stood in front of him, he immediately took me into his embrace, his arms locked securely around me and in that instance, I felt my stomach drop. Whenever I see him, the first thing he would do was kiss him but today was different. Today felt like there was something definitely wrong.
“What happened, Romano?” I asked against his chest which was beating erratically.
But he didn't respond, instead his chest was beating so hard and so fast as I felt it against my lips. I pulled away to look up at him, only to find his eyes filled with tears.
“Sophie, I have no idea what to do?” He mumbled.
“Talk to me, Romano. What happened? What is the problem and why are you crying?”
In the period that I have known him, I have never witnessed him crying. My stomach hurt to see him like this, I didn't know what to do. I took my hand to his head and began to stroke her hair while I watched him in concern and when my hand reached the back of his neck, he grabbed it and brought it to his lips. He clenched his hand into mine and then kissed it before tears spilled out of his eyes.
“Sophie, I…my…your…”
Suddenly, he pulled away from me and growled when he grabbed his hair and pulled at them. My eyes grew wide as I watch him get out of control with his anger, I stood frozen in my spot and watched him heaved with anger. This was all new new to me, I had no idea how to handle him like this. What if he lashed out and left?
“When I reached home that night, I walked into my house with my uncle's dead body laying on the floor of our house. I stumbled upon his body and felt numb, his wife was crying uncomfortably while my mother tried her best to console her.y father was going insane and all he did was yell, scream and thrush everything. At the end of it, he told me who was responsible for it.”
My breath stalled for a moment as I consumed everything he said, there was not a single second that I saw him taking a breath as he was trying to release all his anger. I reached his hand and slowly intertwined my fingers around him while I began to run my other hand along his firearm. He tensed for a moment before he watched over her shoulder, he was absolutely distraught.
“Who was it?” I asked softly.
“Your father,” he mumbled.
At that moment, I felt my heart stop. I was in disbelief, I was speechless. My father was capable of killing? No.
“What?” I muttered before I released his hand. He glanced over his shoulder before he turned his whole body to face me. I trembled under his gaze and I stepped away from him.
“Romano, that is…that is not poss…what!”
“Yes, your father killed my uncle. He killed him with his hands and now, I am defeated and I feel so helpless.”
“I…I am..s..sorry.” I gulp as I feel tears threatening to spill out of my own eyes.
“My father is a k..killer?”
Even though I had no idea who his uncle was, I felt remorse purely because Romano was hurting. I hated to see him like this and I hate to see him crying even though this was my first time. It didn't suit him and when he cries, my heart hurts so much.
