CARLOS' POV:-
As I winked at Samia, her eyes widened in surprise again. Her cheeks turned Rosy pink. She was blushing again. I was teasing her every single chance I had gotten. And I was doing that on purpose. I wanted her to feel equally frustrated as I was. So she would hurry up and we could get married. I didn't want to force her. But I couldn't control my dragon anymore. Only I knew how hard it was not to take her body while being around her. And I knew well that she couldn't sleep without cuddling with me. Or otherwise I would have been sleeping on the couch. It was hard to not touch her while we shared the bed. And my dragon was getting more frustrated than I was.
She quickly turned her face away to hide her rosy pink cheeks from me. But I already knew that I made her blush again. I smirked at my work then turned to look at Chief Nickolas. "I think that's a great idea. And Alpha Kaden is your friend. So there would be no problem for him to take over until we come back. It will not take longer. I can guarantee that." I spoke in a low tone. Chief Nickolas nodded his head then we both turned to look at Alpha Kaden. He had a proud smile on his face as he nodded his head then bowed down in front of me. It looked like we were ready to leave soon.
"It will be an honour for me to fill your place until you get back. I promise to keep your team together and help them out every way I can. I will make sure the team will not have any problems with me being their Alpha." Alpha Kaden spoke in a proud tone while he was staring at the ground. Then he stood up and I nodded my head at him. I turned to look at Samia who had this gentle smile on her face. She looked like she was grateful that I was going to follow her. Well, I was ready to follow her to the depths of hell if I needed to. She was the mate whom I had been waiting for since I turned eighteen.
I was not going to let her go that easily. I had planned everything about our future. I was definitely excited that she wanted a bunch of kids with me. "Oh yes! I forgot to mention. Chief Nickolas, once we get back to work, I want the hounds to clear this one last case that is still on the hold. I want to find that bastard demon, Sasuke and punish him for all the crimes he has committed and all the lives he has taken. We want to burn him so he would never hurt anyone ever again." Samia informed Chief Nickolas and I frowned. She didn't mention anything about that demon before. But I guess, now she was actually ready to put an end to his existence.
Chief Nickolas looked at me with a questioning look in his eyes. I nodded my head while a proud smile on my face for my mate. She always surprised me in ways I couldn't imagine. "I think you are right. It is time we put an end to his madness too. I will discuss it with Blake. I think two teams together would be able to find a way to punish him the way he deserves. After everything he had done in the past and especially what he did to the last dragon kingdom, I am sure it is the right time to put an end to his madness." Chief Nickolas replied while looking at me. I nodded my head at him with a small smile on my face.
I had waited for centuries so I could punish him for everything he had done to my family and my people. I could never thank Samia enough for being in my life. I sometimes thought about the fact that if Samia wouldn't have come into my life, I might have killed the demon back then but I would never be able to see my family again. It was her who somehow managed to make it happen. That woman changed my life since the day she stepped into my life. And I understood that the centuries I had waited for her, were worth the wait after all. There was nothing in our lives that I wanted to change.
Chief Nickolas nodded his head at me then left me with the Hounds. I signalled them to follow me. As the office didn't have enough seats for all the hounds to sit down, it was better to just take them towards the meeting hall where I could discuss with them about the case we were going to work together on. We all entered the meeting hall. All the hounds took their seats. And I sat on the seat of the Alpha. "As you all know about the demon, Sasuke. He is still missing. He disappeared the moment he was taken away from the dragon kingdom." Samia started explaining to the team about Sasuke. It was still a surprise for us all that he ran away.
Samia thought that he used Blake to be able to run away. She believed that there was something that she felt the moment Blake and Sasuke made eye contact. That was another reason why she wanted to know her powers and the purpose why she was given such powers. So she could understand what she felt back then between Blake and Sasuke. "Samia and I will leave for a few days. It will not be more than ten days. We will be back soon. Till then, you can search everything about Sasuke in the evidence room or in the files Samia had created upon Sasuke." I added while looking at them. They all nodded their heads. I turned to look at Samia so she would continue.
She grabbed the files she had made while we were at home. One after another, she went towards each of the hounds and gave them the files so they could read them. "Everything I had found out about that bastard, is mentioned in these files I have given you all. I have updated a few things as I just found them out from a few resources I have. I hope we can find him soon and pull him out of the hole he is hiding in." Samia added in a low but hatred dripping tone for that demon. I know how disturbed she was since she stopped me from killing him. Now for some reason, she was a little afraid of him.
I didn't know what could possibly make her afraid of the demon she had defeated twice. Neither she was telling me anything about it. I had learned to give her some space. She eventually opened up when she felt comfortable. "We have to do our research on this crazy bastard and search for him. Got it." Erica spoke and my eyes widened as I was not expecting her to use a slang word in front of me.
"No, Erica! Alpha Kaden, it will be your responsibility to make sure that none of the hounds go for him. Both Samia and I have faced him. That bastard was capable of doing everything chaotic. He killed my whole kingdom within an hour and dragged the women and kids to hell. No one is allowed to go looking for him." I interrupted as soon as I heard Erica.
"You all have to come up with plans. We are going to lure him out and then kill him. But we are not doing it without Carlos and I and Alpha Blake, of course. As she is the only demon working as the knight." Samia explained further so Alpha Kaden could understand. Alpha Kaden nodded his head and the others did the same. I was just glad that they would be in good hands while I wouldn't be around them. Alen had entrusted me with the team. And I was willing to do everything I could to make sure he would never feel like he made the wrong decision. And I was glad that Samia was by my side. To help me figure out my job.
