Chapter 83

Dale's pov

I was livid. Very livid. Livid at everyone. My mom, that silly man she was dating, his really good-looking son, and most importantly, Ava.

Why the hell did she have to look so enamored by his presence that she kept on blushing so hard at his word? She was acting as though she had never had a man treat her nicely before. What the hell have I been doing if I didn't love her?

"Dale, what the hell was that nonsense you did inside there? I thought we had moved past this already. Why are you so hell bent on making things difficult for me?" Mom yelled at me in annoyance.

I stared at my mom for a few seconds and shook my head.

"I am not good at pretending, that is the issue. Moreover, why does his son have to come over here? Do you think that by getting all of us together for one day in a resort we would magically become one big family?" I asked, already knowing that there was no way in hell I was going to be nice to the bastard who had been smiling so hard at Ava.

Mom shook her head at me. "You are so impossible. What is wrong with having an extra family? Can't you see that all I am doing, I am doing them for your own good?" She asked.

"My own good?" I raised my hands in the air, shocked by what she was telling me. "How is any of this for my own good? You are simply doing this for your own selfishness."

The moment those words were out of my mouth, I already knew that I had made a grave mistake.

Before I could open my mouth to apologize, a stinging slap landed on my face. Pain shot up around my face, sending alarm signals to my brain and causing me to stagger backward.

"Don't you ever talk about something that you have no idea about.

Even if I am being selfish, so what? I have spent a very long part of my life, pleasing you and I hate that already. I finally get the chance to have a great life and you think you can usurp that? Well, if you don't like it, you can forget about it. I am done trying to put up with you and your silly behavior." Mom hissed and stormed away.

I watched my mom's retreating figure and I knew that I ought to go to her and apologize right away, but my pride got the better of me. Instead, I snorted in disgust and walked away, leaving Ava and the rest of them to have the time of their lives.

I was in my room when a knock sounded on the door. Proper etiquette would require that I check who is at the door, but I was still stewing from how things had gone down at the resort and I was in no mood to face anyone. Shame and anger were both embedded in me and I didn't know how to navigate the feelings.

Why couldn't I just pretend to be happy for my mom and give a good show to that man? Instead, I just had to let my anger and emotions get the best of me and create a rift between me and my mom.

The knock sounded on the door again, pulling me out of my thoughts. I stared at the door for a few seconds and shook my head. Whoever was knocking would get tired and walk away. I was in no mood to apologize right away and whoever was knocking was probably just here to give me a hard time over what had gone down at the resort.

I pulled my gaze away from the door when I heard it click open. I quickly raised my head to see Ava walking into the room with a frown on her face. How the hell could I have forgotten that I hadn't locked that door from within?

"What the hell is wrong with you, Dale? I have been knocking for like forever." She complained with a frown.

God, she looked so beautiful when she had a frown on.

"I am not in the mood to talk to anyone. If you are here to give me trouble over what happened at the resort, then I am sorry, but I am not going to indulge you." I rose from my bed and was immediately hit by her presence.

She stood in front of me all royal and regal. A sweet sexy fire blazing in her eyes.

I swallowed hard to the right of her as my organ responded to the sensory stimulation her presence evoked.

"So what are you in the mood to do? Walk out on me and break your mother's heart even further?"

My eyes glided over her face, soaking in every one of her features. I didn't want to ever forget what her face looked like. Well, it was not like I was ever bound to forget, nor could I ever have enough of looking at her face.

"No, I have something even better in mind," I whispered to her and ran a hand down the small office her waist.

My hands lingered on her butt for a second and then I retreated. Taking slow steps, I walked over to the door and shut it. Locking it from within to prevent anyone from coming in and ruining the moment.

I returned to Ava and peering into her eyes, I could already tell she knew what I wanted to do: punish her for lusting after another man.

"Do you know what I want to do Ava?" I wrapped a hand around her waist and pulled her to my body.

Her body was flushed against mine and I could feel and hear the fast beat of her heart.

"No!" She lied, even though her eyes were hungry, hungry for me.

"I want to fuck you, Ava. I want to fuck you so hard that when next you see a man, you are never going to thirst after him." I said and her eyes widened expectantly, eager to take whatever I had to give.
