Chapter 204: Steadfast Protection

Charles reached out and gently wiped away Olivia's tears with his fingertips, his voice softer and more resolute than ever before.

"Don't be scared. I'm here."

"I heard every word he said."

Olivia grabbed his arm, her voice choked with tears.

"He said he'd destroy you, destroy the Green family... Charles, what are we going to do?"

"A man like him is capable of anything! And it's all because of me..."

"Stop talking nonsense!"

Charles cut her off, his eyes sharp and steady.

"This is a war between him and me. It has nothing to do with you!"

"He's just found an excuse he thinks can hurt me."

"Even without you, he'd find some other reason to go after the Green Group."

He cupped her face, forcing her to look into his eyes.

"Olivia, listen to me. I'm not a pushover, and the Green Group isn't something he can just take down!"

"If he wants to play, I'll play with him till the end! We'll see who destroys who!"

His eyes were filled with powerful confidence and undeniable strength, like a towering mountain, instantly dispelling most of the fear and darkness in Olivia's heart.

Right, the Charles she loved had never been someone who could be pushed around.

He was Charles, the man who ruled the business world, the one in control of the Green Group!

"But..."

Olivia was still worried.

"No buts."

Charles said firmly.

"Trust me, and trust yourself. Together, there's nothing we can't overcome."

He paused, his tone softening.

"And by the way, you did great back there."

Olivia froze.

A hint of amusement and pride flashed in Charles's eyes.

"My woman should be exactly this fierce, this badass."

"You told him off perfectly!"

Hearing him say this, Olivia felt a bit embarrassed. With tears still on her face, she couldn't help but laugh through them, playfully punching him.

"At a time like this, you're still joking!"

Seeing her emotions stabilize, Charles breathed a sigh of relief, stood up, and pulled her up with him, drawing her into his embrace.

"Let's go home."

"If there's a problem, we'll solve it. It's no big deal."

Leaning against Charles's solid, warm chest, listening to his steady, strong heartbeat, Olivia felt her strength returning.

Right, it's no big deal!

If Tyrell thought he could force her to give in this way, he was dreaming!

She wasn't the type to be scared off by threats!

She hugged Charles tightly back, making a silent vow in her heart.

No matter what storms lay ahead, she would face them with this man, never backing down!

Meanwhile, Tyrell, having left the café, sat in his luxury car, his expression not as relaxed and smug as he'd appeared earlier.

Olivia's resolute eyes and words stuck in his heart like thorns.

He irritably loosened his tie, his eyes dark.

If the soft approach didn't work, then he couldn't be blamed for going hard! Three days? He didn't want to wait even one more day!

He pulled out his phone, dialed a number, his voice cold as ice.

"Move up the plan."

"Send the Green Group a 'big gift,' and make it harsh and fast!"

The thick bandage on Charles's arm, and the way his brow would occasionally furrow when he moved and pulled at the wound, were like thorns piercing Olivia's heart.

On the surface, she pretended to believe Charles's story that it was just an "accidental injury," taking care of him when needed, joking when appropriate.

But inside, her anger burned hotter and hotter.

She wasn't the type of woman who just hid behind her man and cried.

This time, Tyrell had really crossed her line!

While Charles was in his study on a video conference, Olivia locked herself in the bedroom, her chest heaving violently.

She pulled out her phone, found Tyrell's number, her fingers trembling with rage.

She didn't care about evidence anymore. She just had to tell him off! This crazy stalker!

Every word she typed was filled with fury.

"Tyrell! Are you even a man? If you've got guts, come at me! What kind of person pulls dirty tricks behind someone's back?"

"Let me tell you, the more you do this, the more I despise you! Disgusting! Despicable! Vile! I'm telling you right now, if you dare threaten Charles again, I'll fight you to the death! I mean it!"

After typing the message, she didn't even look at it before furiously hitting send!

As if that could release all the frustration and anger in her heart.

The message went out and disappeared into silence.

Tyrell didn't reply.

But that didn't make Olivia feel much better.

Like an enraged lioness, she paced back and forth in the room, with only one thought in her mind—

She had to protect Charles! She couldn't let anyone hurt him again!

On another front, John was also furious.

He came to see Charles, and watching Charles with his arm in a sling, still handling documents, he couldn't suppress his rage.

He pulled Charles straight to the balcony, closed the door, and asked in a low voice.

"Stop hiding it from me! Was it Tyrell?"

Charles looked out the window, didn't deny it, his eyes cold as ice.

"Fuck!"

John punched the railing.

"He's really asking for it! Can't beat you in business, so he pulls this? Fine! He wants to play dirty? I'll play with him!"

John was truly angry now.

Charles was his childhood friend. Though they teased each other constantly, their bond was closer than brothers.

Tyrell hurting Charles was like hurting him!

He immediately mobilized all his connections, putting out word that he was offering a reward for information on Tyrell's men, especially the one with the scar on his face!

He didn't believe that with enough money on the table, he couldn't find a breakthrough!

But what really stirred up a storm was when news of Charles's injury reached Bodhi at the hospital.

Though Bodhi was recuperating in the hospital, he had eyes and ears everywhere—in the company, at home.

Charles being attacked and injured—such a major incident couldn't possibly be hidden from him.

When his trusted subordinate nervously reported the news, Bodhi was drinking tea.

After hearing it, his hand holding the teacup froze. His face showed no expression, but in those eyes that had weathered countless business battles, a terrifying storm instantly churned.

The ceramic teacup in his hand was crushed to pieces!

The scalding tea mixed with shards splashed all over his hand.

"Mr. Green!"

His subordinate was scared out of his wits and rushed forward to help.

Bodhi waved him off sharply, stopping him.

He pulled out a handkerchief extremely slowly, wiping the water and blood from his hand, his movements so slow they were frightening.

Those eyes stared fixedly at a point in empty space, as if they could shoot flames.

"Tyrell..."

He ground out the name through clenched teeth, his voice low but carrying a terrifying sense of impending catastrophe.
