Truths and Tensions
Author’s POV

Rachel thought that everything was going to be okay and that Isabella wouldn't say anything. She knew that she would soon come around very soon and that Isabella would soon come around. What she didn't know was that Isabella was about to agree with her as Isabella looked at Trisha. 

"No, Trisha, don't tell me to calm down after everything she did to me! After all the way she preached to me, I can't bear the sight of her. Just tell her to get out already. I can't just keep looking at her face there. Tell her to get out before I do something rash to her. I can't forgive her that way. Trisha, even if you forgive her, I would never forgive her. Just tell her to get out already!" Isabella said out of frustration as Rachel just stood there. 

She knew that what she did to Isabella was really wrong and she could understand the pain that Isabella was feeling right now. She would also have done the same thing if she were in Isabella's shoes. She had really betrayed her best friend, and she knew how Isabella felt, so she didn't even wait for Trisha to say anything before she stepped out.

"Trisha, I can't believe you would also do this to me. Why did you bring her here? Why? Why did you become friends with her? Trisha, I don't understand what is going on. Explain to me. Have you joined hands with her? Are you in cahoots with Rachel? Are you guys planning something against me? Just explain to me what is going on! I don't understand anything!"

Immediately, Isabella’s parents stood up. "Me and your dad will be waiting outside for you. We'll leave the both of you to talk," as they also stepped outside.

"Trisha, please explain to me what is going on because I don't understand anything and I don't want to believe that you actually mended your relationship with Rachel. You know very well. You of all people know what she did to me. You of all people know how she betrayed me and how she hurt me. I can't stand the sight of that girl; she really annoys me!" Isabella said to Trisha as Trisha just stood there, unable to say anything.

"Isabella, please just calm down for now. You are just regaining your strength. Please, you don't need to go through all this stress. She went out already. I'll explain everything to you later. Please calm down, Isabella. I don't want anything to happen to you again. I can't bear seeing you unconscious again. Did you know how I felt when I saw you lying there lifeless? Do you know how much I cried? And do you know everything I've been doing just so you could wake up? Now that you've woken up, I can't afford to see you this angry and upset again. Please just calm down. I'll explain everything to you later. I… I know I was wrong bringing her here to see you immediately after you gained consciousness despite knowing how you would feel. I'm sorry, Isabella," Trisha said to Isabella as Isabella just shouted, "No! Trisha, tell me right now why are the two of you together? What is going on? I need to know!"

Trisha couldn't do anything, and she just surrendered. "Okay, fine, I'll tell you. The thing is that she saw Alex pull your hair and act aggressively towards you when you were unconscious. She immediately called James over and made sure that your parents saw James. She did everything so that she would be able to separate you from Alex. She wanted Alex to show his true character before your parents so they would not allow Alex to get married to you. She has repented already, Isabella, believe me. She even talked about everything that Alex tried to do to you while you were unconscious. We are just together because we are planning on how to separate you and Alex. She really means good this time, Isabella, and trust me we are not friends anymore. We are just together because we want to find a way to help you out. Isabella, believe me. You know I wouldn't lie to you."

"Trisha, listen! Are you sure that she isn't planning something evil again? Because I couldn't just… I don't know why. I have had a bad feeling about that girl ever since she betrayed me. If she really had the mind to betray her best friend, what else would she not do?"

"Isabella, you have to calm down. Trust me on this. She even brought up the idea of planning to make sure that you and Alex are separated for good. Because she really wanted to help you this time and she's repenting of her sins. She even helped out when Lily's case was being judged," Trisha explained softly as Isabella finally calmed down. 

The both of them were gisting, talking about things that happened while Isabella was unconscious, how Lily was released from jail, and everything before James stormed into the room.

"Isabella, hope you're fine. Hope everything is okay. I hope you are not hurt. Did Alex come here? I hope he did not do anything to you," James kept on asking Isabella as he was scanning her body for any kind of injury. Trisha just looked at him.

"Calm down already, James. Nothing has happened to her; I'm here. Do you think anybody will be able to harm her while I'm here?" Trisha said to James. 

Before James realized that Trisha was actually sitting in the room, he didn't notice her because he was so occupied with the thought that Alex might have already come there and harmed Isabella. Then he immediately saw the mark on Isabella's neck and asked, "Isabella, what's going on? What happened to you? Why are there marks on your neck? It wasn't there when I was here before."

He asked her as Isabella looked scared. She didn't want to tell James because she did not know what he would do to Alex, so she didn't want to say anything to him. As Trisha and Isabella looked at each other, neither of them wanting to say anything, James immediately noticed their eye contact and asked her again, "Don't you dare lie to me, Isabella! Tell me what happened, seriously. Did Alex really do this to you?"

Isabella gave up, knowing that she couldn't hide it again from James. He would, one way or another, eventually find out. "Yes, Alex actually did this to me. He came here and he was very angry because I called you first immediately when I gained consciousness, and I didn't call him. So he tried to strangle me. But the nurses arrived in time and saved me from his clutches. Mom already sent him away from the hospital," Isabella calmly said to James.

Meanwhile, James stood up furiously. "What? Alex! After warning him not to ever come close to you, after warning him not to harm you, he dares do this to you! I'm going to make him pay for what he did to you. How dare he try to strangle you? Is he crazy? I even thought he was just doing all of this because he was angry about you cheating on him. I didn't know that he would go to such lengths! Who does he really think he is?" James shouted angrily as he was about to walk out of the hospital before Isabella stopped him.

"Just stop it already, James. I'm fine. Nothing is going to happen to me. Now that you are here, you'll be able to protect me. Mom and Dad are also here, including Trisha. Do you think Alex would be able to harm me while all of you are by my side?" 

She calmed James down, and James sat back down. He immediately called the nurse and begged her, "Please don't allow Alex to come anywhere close to Isabella anymore. Please don't even allow him into the hospital. I want her to receive extra care immediately. Not even giving her enough protection would not save her. I think she should be discharged from the hospital and go home so we'll be able to protect her much better there. Right here in the hospital, anybody can just come in and go out. This place is not our personal property. I think she should be discharged. At least we should call the doctor and ask him to check if she would be able to be discharged already." 

"That's a better idea," James said to Isabella's mom as they immediately went to see the doctor.
